Never answers phones, changes prescriptions then says they need approval to fill them. Definitely switching pharmacies - ZERO stars

I have never, ever in my relatively short life experienced the degree of condescending rudeness,…read moreand dismissive nastiness that I experienced when I shopped at this QFC this afternoon from DAVID - one of their so called "courtesy clerks" - Ha! This David obviously hates his job, hates his customers and based on my many unpleasant encounters with this poor pathetic individual, hates his life. He literally grabbed my debit card out of my hand today when I simply asked him where to tap it. The left side card "tap space" was taped off and I wasn't sure if I should tap it on the screen, slide it "old school" on the right side, or insert it into the card reader. Grabbing my card out of my hand and tapping it on the screen, all the while making me feel incompetent (which I am not) must have seemed to him to be the most effective solution to my dilemma. What a jerk! After my transaction was complete, he shoved the receipt at me and subsequently pushed my cart away from him like it contained something foul, and figuratively did the same to me. I was upset. I still can't figure out what I did to him that warranted such unprofessional and absolutely unprovoked behavior on his part. I believe he needs to seek out another avenue of employment.

I am from the Northgate neighborhood of Seattle (home neighborhood in my American hometown - Northgate, Seattle) and I continue to use this location if I am in the area, though I live in Shoreline now. Sections of the store are well labeled and the workers have been professional in our interactions over the years. My favorite cake is yellow cake, has been for over 20 years, and this QFC location remains my go-to when I am looking for a slice or two of yellow cake. The in-store bakery makes a great cake and perfect frosting, especially the yellow cake and caramel frosting option. Even as of my most recent visit on Sunday 29 October 2023, I was happy to find fresh made yellow cake options. The parking lot can get a little cramped, has a 90 minute limit, and is restricted to QFC customers. There are two entrances/exits, which can be a little difficult to maneuver. However, it was one of my favorite lots when I was first learning/adjusting to driving because it helped teach me patience and to breath in tight fit situations.

I can't imagine the (possible) consequences of the audacity and carelessness I encountered. I came in to pick up a prescription my doctor sent today for ongoing shortness of breath and cough. I told the pharmacist that I had a prescription. He checked the system and couldn't find it. Instead, he focused on an old prescription from November (it is March) that had been written by a different provider for a related condition. I told him multiple times that this was not why I was there: I had seen my doctor this morning, and I was there for the new prescription. We went back and forth, and I repeated several times that the November prescription was not the one I needed. Then I remembered that my date of birth had a typo in the clinic's system. Although my doctor said he would correct it, I thought that might be why the pharmacist couldn't locate the new prescription. I told him about the typo and suggested that could be the issue. After a few minutes, he said he had sorted it out and told me to come back after the lunch break. That was reasonable, so I waited in my car for 40 minutes. When I returned, I waited in line again. Another staff member told me it was almost ready. Shortly after, I received a text saying my prescription was ready--but the text listed the medication from November, not the medication my doctor prescribed today. I knew this immediately because this is a chronic condition and I'm very familiar with different medications. I went back and spoke to another pharmacist. She confirmed that what was ready was indeed the November prescription, and she still couldn't find the new one. After searching, she told me they couldn't locate it because of the typo in my date of birth. (This pharmacist was lovely and genuinely helpful.) But I had already told the first pharmacist about that typo. At his point, I had been at the pharmacy for more than an hour, with shortness of breath and I was feeling dizzy. Bottom line: if I hadn't been careful, known my medications, and advocated for myself, I could have gone home without the medication I needed. The first pharmacist put an old prescription into processing even though I repeatedly told him it was not what I was there for. This was done to rush me out. Knowingly rushing out a patient with a wrong set of pills is unacceptable for a healthcare establishment. Shame on this pharmacist. I will also be reporting this to Safeway headquarters and Washington Department of Health, so that this person receives the warning he needs and deserves.

We keep getting incentive msg. from the app to come in for the next Flu/Covid shot and we schedule an appt only to be told when we arrive and wait in line for 20 minutes that there is no availability or the wrong information is not available to the technicians from the data app. We'll not be back. We've already moved out prescriptions elsewhere for the same reasons. Someone should either figure out how to improve the digital customer relationship Information better or get training on how to use the tools available. Other pharmacies don't seem to have this much trouble managing customers data. Disappointed.

But I think, truly, they are too understaffed to be able to fulfill even the most basic tenets of the job. I'd really encourage Safeway corporate to consider staffing this location adequately, because it is impacting customers negatively and significantly. It's virtually impossible to get ahold of pharmacy staff over the phone--which is concerning because that's pretty much the only way to contact them. This becomes increasingly problematic when time-sensitive, life-altering medications are at stake. When I tried to refill my medication (which I need to take every day for my chronic illness) I was unable to connect with anyone regarding my prescription. After four days, I finally resorted to driving out to the pharmacy for in-person assistance. What was really hurtful, though, was that the pharmacy tech genuinely just did not seem to care. You could tell they could not care less whether I (or any of the other people who need it!) got the medication. This flippant, indifferent approach has been a repeated pattern in my time at this pharmacy. The seeming lack of concern for patient safety, health, and wellbeing really has had a negative impact on my time here. I hope this location is staffed adequately moving forward, so patients can be well taken care of!

Review for QFC Northgate (Western Union Service) I usually…read moredon't write reviews, but what happened to me at this store deeply affected me, and I feel the need to share my experience. About a week ago, I went to the QFC in Northgate, Seattle, WA to send money through Western Union. I am not a young person, and I came in with urgency because my nephew was very sick at home and crying, and I needed to send the money quickly. The employee helping me was a very young man, around the age of my own children. He was distracted the entire time, constantly stopping my transaction to answer other customers' questions, even though I was already being helped. I politely said, "Can you please focus with me for a moment?" because I was in a rush and needed his attention. Instead of responding professionally, he stopped what he was doing and started repeating, loudly and aggressively, "You are rude!" He said it over and over, maybe ten times, and made a scene in front of everyone. Then he processed my transfer incorrectly, and I had to pay the transfer fee again to fix it. Even though I apologized if my words had come off the wrong way, he kept shaking his head and calling me rude again and again. I felt humiliated, especially as a hijabi woman. I couldn't help but wonder if he treated me this way because of how I look. I reported the incident to the store manager, but he refused to speak to the employee in front of me or ask him to apologize. He said, "We can't force anyone to apologize," and that they would "talk to him later." I left the store with a broken heart, in tears. I also emailed QFC's corporate office, and while they did apologize, all they offered was a $20 credit. This was never about the money. I just wanted to be treated with dignity and respect. What hurts the most is that I was calm, respectful, and still treated so poorly. No one deserves to be treated like this -- especially when all they asked for was basic attention and courtesy.

But today I called, and I'm not sure if it's the same lady, but they answered the phone to immediate hold without saying anything. This place is dog-water and I won't go to this pharmacy again. Pure trash. I've worked plenty of customer service in my time, and I know it's possible to keep it together with a customer for a couple minutes -especially when they're being patient, polite, and cooperative- even if the previous customers were horrible. Also, I've never made a review of anything in my life. This will be the first time I've felt strongly enough to do something like this. Doesn't cost anything to be a decent human being. They seem to have moved their unrefrigerated pop area lately to dedicate an entire wall of the store to wine instead. I can't imagine that'll exactly be a roaring fountain of new revenue for them. It's already hard to get into the cooler at that end of the store because the floor is so congested, but it's their store, so I guess they can do what they want with it. The only real drawback is the near-constant presence of various flavors of panhandler in front of the store. And the guy who apparently lives out of his car who's frequently parked in their lot, blaring his stereo. He seems to be vaguely associated with the panhandlers, although I haven't noticed him panhandling himself. I guess he limits himself to adding to the overall musical ambience of the location, as a kind of traveling DJ. Today a panhandler waited until I was almost back in my car by the pumps before she belatedly asked me for a handout. I guess she didn't notice me earlier. Now, if I were a panhandler, I'd work a little harder at noticing what was going on in the parking lot, but that's just me. She didn't make a move to get up, so apparently I was supposed to stop what I was doing, walk back across the entire parking lot, and hand-deliver the money to her. Yeah, no. I do give to panhandlers sometimes, but not often, and I was out of cash that morning anyway. I said, "Nope" in a neutral tone and kept going. She didn't like this at all, and made some choice personal remarks. I returned the favor, got in my car, and drove away. Yep, a shouting match with a panhandler makes a great start to any day!
