We stopped here to grab some snacks and a bunch grocery items to make ourselves a charcuterie board and have a picnic. This location definitely has a great selection of olives and antipastas and cheese, etc so it was a great choice for what we needed. They also have a really large parking lot. I was able to find everything that we needed, but I had to take off a star because their bread slicer was out of order and they have some weird system about scanning a barcode to get in and use their restroom. Otherwise, this was a good stop. The Fred Meyer itself is fine, a little more high traffic in terms of homeless activity later in the day, but that's just the location. The real issue is the attitude of literally anyone working in the pharmacy. DMV energy, they should consider a career change. While photographing, a white male security guard approached me and instructed me--rather curtly--to stop taking photos, stating that photography is not allowed inside the store. His tone was unnecessarily stern, and his facial expression felt dismissive and unwelcoming. The encounter was both surprising and disheartening, especially since my intent was simply to provide a fair and informative review for other customers. After leaving the store, I reviewed Fred Meyer's terms and general policy and found no clear indication that personal photography for review purposes is prohibited--especially when done respectfully and without disrupting other customers or staff. Avoid this Fred Meyer location if possible. The customer service just make up their own rules and close early half the time. Every other location does money orders until 9:30pm. Specifically about the pharmacy. I've been picking up from Greenwood Fred Meyer for quite a while now, switched to the Ballard one because it's closer. And wow, what a mistake. This Fred Meyer typically has everything you need. The store is huge and I find the layout to be kind of weird. It's usually crowded no matter what time of day I go and there are often people stocking shelves and taking up the entire space of the aisle, so it's a bit stressful navigating with a cart. But I've had good experiences with customer service and really like their online order pickup service. Took off a couple of stars because I once waited for 30 minutes for someone to assist me with a blender (locked item), called the front desk and still didn't get anyone to help. I ended up driving all the way to Target to get the same one. I also don't like that their bathrooms are locked and you need a code to get in. They don't even give you the code, they have to escort you to the bathroom to type it in. Weird. I usually don't write reviews, but my experience at Fred Meyer's liquor section was so frustrating I feel like people should know. A few weeks ago I saw a bottle of Blanton's bourbon on display behind a locked case with a price tag. When I asked about buying it, I was told I couldn't because the manager had already left for the day and that they "have a list of people" they sell it to. Fast forward to today the same bottle is still sitting there on display with a sale tag. I asked again, and once again I was refused because the manager wasn't around and it was supposedly for people on this list. Here's the issue: if something isn't actually for sale to customers walking in, don't put it on display with a price tag. That's misleading and just bad business. Keep it in the back if it's being held for special customers. Getting brushed off by staff twice over the same bottle was enough for me. I'll be shopping elsewhere from now on. read more

This Fred Meyer is my local one and all things considered its OK. It's my preferred supermarket because even with an abundance of grocers, this one is the cheapest overall even though the others are closer. It's large and fairly well stocked. Spanning furniture, appliances, home needs, electronics all the way to groceries. The customer service counter needs work. The staff are all nice that I've encountered but my first time there there was only 1 person working it and there was like a line 10+ people. The aisles are a bit cramped here particularly in the grocery/dairy areas which is not good. I constantly am worried I'm blocking somebody and have to be real careful when turning in and out of aisles. The lot is large and ok with Slanted parking so that the drive aisles aren't traffic heavy or at least is usually the case. So Fred Meyer gets a pass. Since I moved to Seattle, people around me have been raving about Fred Meyer as the best grocery store. I finally made it to Fred Meyer recently. I saw a review about not being able to use the bathroom here because no one knew the bathroom code, but that wasn't the case for me. When I asked a staff about the bathroom, he was quick to contact someone near the restroom via walkie talkie and I was guided to the restroom without a hitch. So I guess whether you make it to the restroom depends on who's working at the time. The place is huge and I wondered how staff is allotted for each section, but the employees seem to get along and I felt overall a good vibe at the store. The store not only has regular grocery goods but also an entire gardening supply section and even some furnitures. Seems like a good one-stop-shop where I would visit more often if I live closer. read more

It's October 8th 2024 and the pharmacy is so understaffed they are telling me they can't fill my wife's live saving meds for 4 days due to "lack of staff". How is that even legal? This is a review for the pharmacy only. I just had a very intense and rude interaction with the pharmacist that will have me never return. They changed some policy and would not refill until they got some code from my doctor. The policy aside, I just asked a few calm questions about how to resolve it quickly and the woman became very hostile. Our favorite checkers are Vinod (OG checker) or Nan. They are super fast behind the checker. Stay away from the in school nurse guy, he'll talk your ear off and check super slow. So first of all this is a review about the private security Fred Meyer has chosen to harass customers leaving their store, I spent $65+ at Fred Meyer on Tillamook cheese, synergy kombucha and some spindrift sparkling water.while leaving the store after using self checkout my grocer bag handles broke so I was caring everything as I approached security guards guarding exit I dropped my receipt when asked for it because my hands were full in front of a not tall very tall caucasian, security guard who followed me outside and was shouting obscenities to me such as that I was a dog, and I need to clean up after myself and he was being super hostile. By far one of the nicest fred Myers I've been to. The Asian lady that runs the check out your self area is really nice and helpful everytime I come in. The rest of the employees need to take lead behind her on customer service because she knows how to treat people. So that's the only down side for here . They need to pick it up in customer service. But the store is always so clean and full of products. And the do have a few different pumps here for electric car people. No gas at this location. This store location always has missing products, and the store associate's are rude. Especially the managers. Home manager & grocery manager disrespect their employees. Kroger is a union job, and they do absolutely nothing for the employees. Apparently the managers can create a hostile environment and curse at employees. UFCW does not care as long as Fred Meyers company is making money. I quit for these reasons, and I know a few others who have quit for same reasons. The ones who stay are favorably liked by the mgrs so they don't ever see the problem. Regardless it is a market, and you can get essentials. **For the jewelry store** My husband and I stopped in for a wedding band for myself. I wanted a rose gold wedding band with diamonds. An associate, I think her name was Tucker or something (middle-aged blonde woman) greeted me as I walked in with an unenthusiastic "can I help you?" I let her know what we were looking for, and she walked us over to their limited selection. The whole time we were there, she treated us like a huge inconvenience, as though we were taking her away from some other important thing she was doing (there was no one else in the store). Every question I asked was answered with annoyance and a short, curt response. I asked if the ring had to be ordered: "No." Ok, so I can bring it home today? "No. It won't be ready for 4 days." Ok... Then I asked, Do you all do maintenance on engagements rings to tighten the stones, etc.? "Yes." ....Sooo, how much is it? "Well, that depends." No further explanation. As she took out each ring for me to try, she held them far from me so that I had to reach instead of simply handing it to me, it was very rude. At that point, I just left. If you don't want my money, I certainly won't force you to take it. I went to Fred Meyer in Ballard and when I went to leave, the security guard asked for my receipts so I handed them over as I left and the security guard got confrontational with me a yelled at me IM NOT YOU TRASH CAN !!!!!!!!!
