They have buying power due to the right affiliations. Being a family operation their standards are high, the store is impeccably clean, organized & well run. The pharmacists are always on the cutting edge and take the time to explain everything. When you enter you are immediately greeted. Whether a newcomer or a patron of decades you will feel welcome & comfortable. The owner/pharmacist has a witty repertoire that makes many customers laugh. I though I was at a large family gathering on one of my visits. Customers were chatting up about their vacations & other plans. If you can't find what you are looking for, just ask they should be able to get it. The shelves are well stocked with everything from Candy & Cards to First Aid, Cold & Pain to gifts & durable medical equipment. They even sell local honey! I've heard taking local honey can reduce allergies! Ask them because they sell homeopathic remedies too. Like any good business the customer is always a high priority. My questions are always answered timely & if research is needed they will do it. Personal service, caring staff & efficiency will always keep me here. Unfortunately, many of us don't know anything different than the subpar (to be diplomatic) experience that the major chain pharmacies afford their captive customers. However there is an alternative out there: you just might have to do a little paperwork on your first visit; and you may not be "covered" if your employer-sponsored drug plan is through the CVS-owned Caremark monopoly. Boyd's is a breath of fresh air! Let's see: -The phones are answered promptly and politely by knowledgeable and friendly staff. -The wait times to pick up scripts are never very long (and often non-existent). -If your medicine is out of stock, they'll actually order it for you, and it'll arrive in stock in a day or two. Unlike the big chains, this isn't made out to be some sort of Herculean inconvenience by the staff. You don't have to get district managers involved to simply get the medicine that your healthcare provider thinks is best for you. -transferring scripts here wasn't too difficult, I remember filling out a little paperwork but nothing crazy. -They have a mobile app if you prefer to order refills electronically rather than talk to a human. -Before we had COVID vaccines, Boyd's also had quick call-ahead curbside service. I'd be willing to bet they'd still do it if asked. I believe they deliver as well. -While they aren't in the GoodRx discount program, they will do their best to match their prices. An added bonus for many is that the store doubles as a purveyor of beer, wine and spirits. You will need to go to a separate register for these, but the selection is decent. Many NJ wines and a better craft beer selection than the other package stores I've been to in the immediate bordentown city/fieldsboro area. Their "good neighbor" branded over the counter products are just fine and not everything is horribly priced. Certainly no worse than CVS. If none of the above convinces you to check out Boyd's, here's one more: no 3-foot long receipts with coupons for random crap you aren't buying anyway. Boyd's is my pharmacy for as long as I'm in this region. Even if you must drive a while to get here, you'll still be back home before you'd even be out of the queue at CVS, with your soul uncrushed and faith in humanity intact!

They came through for me when my mail order pharmacy could not get their hands on a prescription that I take daily for a chronic condition. They helped me through a lengthy dog bite recovery period with advice, recommendations and support. Esp. when I had an adverse reaction to a prescription from the urgent care center. And now they are helping me prepare for a trip to Tanzania. In addition to supplying all of the OTC and prescriptions for the trip, they packaged all of my medications and supplements in individual (labeled) pouches. This way I can take just what I need for each side trip instead of carrying my entire supply with me. And I have to mention the gift store that is part of the pharmacy. Whoever does the buying does a great job, every time I go in I find something either for myself for the family!

I called the Mt Holly Acme pharmacy and spoke to Regina, the friendliest and most helpful pharmacist I ever met. Regina signed me up for an account over the phone, had my prescription transferred from another pharmacy, and saved me $32 dollars for a prescription that I was paying almost $50 dollars every two months. I will be saving $200 dollars on one prescription this year. Never assume that your insurance is giving you the best price. Almost all of the discount cards are free.
