I got my passport photos taken here and was told that they're non compliant as it was slanted. However, it was actually taken a few times but just couldn't get the right angle. Somehow it even passed through all the checks in the Kodak machine for some reason. I came back to the store asking for a refund / photos to be re taken as per CVS photo policy https://www.cvs.com/photo/passport-photos. The person, Ronald, who was on shift on that day was really kind and meticulous. He told me how to position myself and even reprinted a photo because the initial print was a little saturated (time to update the machine!). I used cash at the self-checkout, and the change I received included a bill that was nearly torn in half. When I informed a worker, they said there was nothing they could do except suggest I use the damaged bill for another purchase. This is unacceptable. Completely rude and nasty about it for no reason. On a recent trip to DC, was sitting outside of this CVS at 7:05am. Lights are off. Doors are locked. Open time on the door is 7am. Closest CVS to my hotel and needed some emergency travel meds. Not a good location for couponers! Sale items are usually always out of stock, and the staff, albeit very friendly, are not up to-date on coupon policy and therefore cause more grief than assistance when trying to complete a purchase. The store is generally clean, but chances you'll find whatever you're looking for is slim to none. Wish they'd do better with item availability and staff training. read more

Bare. Empty. Shelves. I'm not quite sure why I walked in here when there is a Harris Teeter with stocked shelves across the street, but we did. Then we took one look around and walked out. This CVS is conveniently located across the street from Harris Teeter. It doesn't have as many product choices as other CVS stores but I like the photo area. I had a birthday scrapbook project and I used the CVS website to send pictures. They even had wallet photos. not even exaggerating when i say this is probably the worst CVS in all of DC or maybe even all the DMV area period. every time i come here it takes an hour just for me to get my prescription. the pharmacist wouldn't take my doctors script because she "was going to lose the piece of paper". the lady wouldn't fill my allergy meds because the line was too long meanwhile the line was caused by her inability to do her own job efficiently. like it took her 35 minutes to give someone their medicine and by the time she finished, the pharmacy line went so far that people were crowded by the store doors. this place is loaded with prescriptions yet they only have 1 worker on the clock that's barely competent enough to do her job (besides ife). find another location; even if it's way further than here. trust me it'll save you hours of wasted time read more

She had been on the phone and during the entire conversation, she had to tell whoever was on the other line to "hold on". I was shocked! I went in to buy body wash. The selection of body wash was locked up. Really ... who steals $5 body wash? Or, better yet, I have to believe there are more expensive things to protect in a drug store (e.g. razor blades, teeth whitening systems, etc.) But, I digress .... I have nothing bad to say about the store or pharmacy staff - they have been wonderful and helpful every time. Unfortunately, the store is woefully understaffed and has inconvenient hours. The pharmacy closes at 6 PM on weekdays, and is only open until 2 PM on Saturday. On weeknights around 5:30 PM there's a long line of grumpy customers at the pharmacy trying to pickup or dropoff their Rxs before closing time. If you're running a little late on your way home from work (or the Red line's got another delay) don't bother - they'll be closed by the time you get there. You're better off going to the Harris Teeter across the street where the pharmacy is open until 9 PM on weeknights. read more

Worst CVS ever. Back home in the midwest, CVS is almost like Target - bright, shiny, even possible to buy a random gift in the "As Seen on TV" section. This is like the Soviet Russia version of CVS. Bare essentials are under lock-down, many sections are just empty, there is always a line of at least 4-5 people, and aisles are constantly cluttered with torn shipping boxes from replenishment. (Which is confusing, since the shelves are still pretty barren.) AND the pharmacy closes at 6, which is just absurd.. because everyone who works in DC leaves at 5? I'm sure it's due to a vicious cycle of lower volume therefore cut hours and cut staff since Harris Teeter opened, but just go ahead and close the place already. read more

I have used this pharmacy for over a year now, and get many medications filled here. I use it for convenience purposes because it is right in my area, and it is difficult for me to travel far due to my health issues. The service here is so bad, I am about to go out of my way to use a different pharmacy that has its act together. This is by far the worst pharmacy I have ever frequented. Not just once or twice, but over and over again the service has been poor. The pharmacists themselves are nice and helpful. Unfortunately, the pharmacy technicians are poorly trained or just don't care about being helpful. They usually can't answer basic questions about if the medication was run through insurance, if a prior authorization was required, when the medication can be filled if it can't already, what medications are ready for pickup, etc.. The hold times to get a technician on the phone are long, they often hang up on you (purposefully, plenty of times), and when you have a reasonable question to ask the pharmacy about they tell you to call your doctor or your insurance instead. At my old pharmacy I might get the info I need in a few minutes on the phone, here it might take multiple calls, going in person, and getting through multiple techs before finally getting a pharmacist to help. Avoid at all costs. read more

The pharmacy was not functional on a recent Saturday. The prescription was called in around 10am, and they never entered into it into the system. I stayed on hold for 10 minutes and they never picked up the phone. By 2pm, they were closed until Monday, and other CVS's could find no record of the call. This CVS rarely carries the items I need. They are only good for a quick bottle of water (or soda), chips, or candy. The pharmacy is always super busy and they normally have to order your prescription because they don't keep many in stock. It is really sad that I hate this place, because I live right across the street. This store is always messy, unorganized, low on stock and the photo machines are the worst. The costumer service is lacking (there is this one nice lady that works there). I visited several days in a row. I wanted to make some copies of a photo I had, as well as pick up an online photo order I placed the day before. I receieved several confirmation emails saying that my pictures were ready....keep that in mind. The first time I went, the photo machine was broken/not working properly/jammed?, so I decided to give up for that trip and come back the next day. When I got there the next time, I scanned my photo, placed the order (one print) and the screen gave me a message saying the printer is out of receipt paper, but gave me the option of continuing with the order anyway. So, I did. I ask the lady how long one print would take, she said a few minutes. Okay, so I go walk around for some eye liner in the meantime. While I am looking at the (sparse) supply of makeup(they need to restock the empty holes), two of the CVS employees were literally chasing each other in the store. LITERALLY CHASING EACH other...with their CVS name tags on, flying by costumers. I had to move several times as they almost run me over rounding a corner. Not sure why that was happening, but I would be okay not seeing it again. I go to check on my photo (which should have been ready), lo and behold it was not. I ask about it. The nice lady calls someone (I assume is the manager), she comes over and punches several buttons on the photo machine and says it will be a few more miinutes....okay. So I walk around some more. I come back, the photo is ready, yay! I can finally go home! OH, SO CLOSE. I tell her that I also would like to pick up my other order I place two days ago, with confirmation emails saying they were all ready to be picked up, and guess what? They were NOT ready, no where to be found in fact. So again, she goes to the computer, punches a whole bunch of buttons and then tells me that they should print out shortly. (umm..okay?) This order was not just one or two pictures, it was about 15. I had A LOT of things to do that day, including baking things and sewing costumes, but instead I spent 35 minutes of my life in CVS for a trip that should have taken NO MORE than 10. I kept my cool (somehow) and bit my tongue, and then walked around the store for another 10 minutes while my pictures were printed out. At this point, it was becoming sadly humorous, as if I were being pranked/punked or a part of an SNL skit. I assume the manager sensed my frustration...hmm I wonder how she could tell? And gave me my one enlarged picture for free (a whopping $2 off, thanks for making me stay in your store for 35 minutes because of YOUR mistake). I took my things and left. The only time I will visit that CVS again is if I am dying of some kind of flu/illness and I have to get medicine. So annoying, unprofessional and messy(I could not work behind the counter there, it looks as though a tornado came through and destroyed everything in it's path. No thank you read more

Despite signs inside the store saying that they send out film to be developed, staff said they were out of the proper envelopes and thus were unable to do so. They recommended I try a different store in a completely different part of the city, but were not able to verify what stores would have envelopes in stock. I was headed to an interview and ended up with a run in my panty hose so I ran in to grab a pair. They had a nice selection and they were reasonably priced for it to be a drug store. I got a 2 pack for less than $6 so I definitely can't complain especially the way I go through stockings. Some guy was walking around asking for money. When the lady noticed they asked him to leave. I have always found the pharmacists to be very nice, which is why I am giving this place two stars as opposed to one. Unfortunately, everything else about the place is awful. The pharmacy hours are a joke. If you are a working professional, you will need to either get to work late or leave work early in order to pick up your prescription.
