I was there Saturday 07/13/24 at 16:30 and was in line before one customer already being served, I had a consultation but at this location the consultation window is closed, with a red panel, which gives the impression is normally that way. While I was waiting a gentleman came in after me and when the first of two either Pharmacists or Pharmacy Technicians was done, they turned around and took care of the gentleman that came in after me, did not acknowledge me but called him by name and helped him. The gentleman had a prescription for his granddaughter and he forgot to bring her insurance card, as you can imagine that took a bit of time. I went and looked for the over the counter medication and got back inline, no one had come in the mean time and the store was not busy, one car in the drive through was service no other waiting and a third person came in behind me, I will give you one guess as to what happened. You guess it, once again the person behind me was a local and they called her by name and serviced her, at that point I was going to lean but thankfully my father's physician called and told me what I needed to get, so I did and left. The reason I stayed is because on a weekend CVS Newland is the only pharmacy opened, close to Dad, at the time we needed the help and the next one would have required me to drive another 13 miles and leave Dad in pain for that much longer. I am not a local, but I do come often to visit my dad, who is a local and has been going to CVS for decades. I really hope that this store is not relaying on them being the only outfit around to service people to stay in business, as that is not a great customer retention model. Sad that only good review here, is from 2021 and that is a local defending the pharmacist and that review is a 4. If he had not done that, it would actually be one review with a one star, now two with mine. May I suggest so customer service training for the pharmacy personnel (the front young lady was friendly), including proper turn taking, for all people, regardless whether they are local or not (As many of them, like me are family members of the locals you love.) Once again the store is well stocked, if you know what you need ( just went there again today), do not expect great customer service, unless you are a local they know.

Why do they make it so hard to talk to upper management? What are they afraid of, are they trying to suppress complaints. My complains is this- I am disabled and today I was refused cashier service and told I had to use self checkout only, which I didn't want to do, but what makes it worse it the very person that said no than rung up 2 people in line behind me, it's discrimination if you can't accommodate your loyal customers than maybe you should just close your doors. I was located…read morefor my job in Boone Nc and had been using that pharmacy for going on 3 months and have also used the Boone Nc Walmart pharmacy for previous times I was working there. On 4/27/2019 I went to refill my sleeping medication restoril as I had 1 left and I was going back home for a couple of days to Sc. I had to speak with the pharmacist as it had already been filled but not for the entire 30 days to which this has happened many times as my insurance only covers 15 days and the other 15 days I pay out of pocket for. This pharmacist stated that I could not get my medication filled d/ t I should have plenty left and that I could not get it filled until 4/28/2019. I told her that that was impossible and that I had 1 left and was going back home for a couple of day. She stated that she was correct and there was nothing that I could do that she was not filling it until the 28th. I asked to speak with the pharmacy manager and was denied as she was busy doing a health fair in front of the store. I went to the front of the store and spoke with the pharmacy manager and she stated that there was nothing she could do. I left and proceeded to drive back to my home in Sc. I went to the pharmacy in York Sc and spoke with the pharmacy tech about what occurred and she stated that it was indeed able to be refilled and called the Walmart pharmacy in Boone Nc and she stated that the pharmacist there was rude and put the pharmacist on hold and said that she was going to let the pharmacist there talk to the boone pharmacist. The tech then came to me and stated I am so sorry but the pharmacist in Boone Nc is REFUSING to release the transfer of said medication until tomarrow. I am deeply disappointed. If you look at my prescription history at Walmart you can see that I have been a customer for numerous years and NEVER have I had an issue prior to dealing with the pharmacist from walmart Boone Nc. Not only have I been very inconvenienced but I was made to feel like a drug addict by the pharmacist by the way she was talking to me and even stating "I can show you a calendar if you need me to do that". I am requesting someone to contact me asap about the above. I have been in the medical field for 35 years and I refuse to be treated this way. I do not treat my patients this way and this needs to be addressed. Thank you for your time.
