I've never been inside this CVS, and after my experience this morning, I'm not too inclined to in the future, even though it is the closest pharmacy to my home and on my way home from work. Last night I watched a number of commercials for CVS & Minute Clinics. "Open 24 Hours a day" it said. I've had a total of 3.5 to 4 hours of sleep over the past two nights, so I'll take the hit for missing the small print that says "at participating CVS Stores". I wait until about 6:30 and ask my husband to skip his breakfast and take me there. after all, it's not very far, and in my current state, I didn't feel safe driving myself. We get there, but the doors are locked. Just then, two employees got out of their cars. One shouted "We'll be open in 5 minutes". By the time she got that out, we were both approaching the door, so I asked 'What time does the Minute Clinic open?" she responded "oh, we don' have one of those here yet. The closest one is in Eagan. They open at 7:30. So, now we drove 10 miles to Eagan. It's just before 7:30 & I'm the first one in line. The terminal says "tap to start", which I do. I get a message that says "Sorry, we're closed right now"(at least it has manners and said it was sorry... I'll take what I can get!) and it gives a list of hours. They open at 9:00 AM!!! Most disrespectful and rude manager. The store manager Chi doesn't know what she's doing and will say one thing one day and completely something else the next day. She should get proper training. To have someone like who has to customer service experience and work in this industry is a shame. This is why people are now only doing online shopping due to poor customer service. CVS you should have some standard. CVS needs to take accountability for their unprofessional and rude staff. How is it that when asked to speak to another person who can assist me Chi completely refused services even though everything was paid for upfront. Complete disappointment. read more

Went to the drive through on a snow blowing day. The sign that dictates which lane you need to be in had blown over do to the wind. I got up to the window after a 20 minute wait to be told I had to go in the other lane. I asked why I couldn't just get my prescription in this lane and the man said that was only for covid testing. I was literally 3 feet away and he wouldn't help me out. What a joke. I asked again and he refused to help me out, just apologizing about the sign. Get your Ass out there and put the sign up so the next customer doesn't waste they're time! I will be going to Walgreens from now on! read more

The pharmacist at this West St. Paul, MN location is rude, judgmental and lacking in compassion. I had a horrible experience here when I came to pick up medication for a resistant case of lice that my family was experiencing in August. That experience became worse today when I needed to follow up. After discovering that we had lice in our family again, just as I was coming out of a quarantine for COVID, I began doing everything I could to eradicate the problem. This included home over the counter treatments and finally a doctor's visit that resulted in a prescription for malathion to treat it. We had tried to get it through our independent pharmacy (St. Paul Corner Drug) but they weren't able to get enough bottles to treat all of us. It took a long time for the prescription to go through & be ready, so then it was near closing time when I arrived to pick it up. I'm so used to dealing with a familiar pharmacy that I forgot to bring my insurance card. The tech put a lot of pressure on me to just pay for it out of pocket. We needed it that night so that we could deal with the lice before the start of school. I knew we had met our high deductible & that the charge when run through insurance should therefore be $0. Out of pocket cost was $146.31. I begged for time to call home so we could run it through insurance. The pharmacy tech and head pharmacist put more pressure on me saying that they would be closing soon. I called home and my husband was caught on the toilet. I explained to him the urgency of the situation and that I needed to get my exact account number, as each family member in our plan has a different number. Due to the situation and bad timing, he didn't listen carefully and read me his number (but I didn't know it at the time). They asked for my birthdate and when I gave it to them, they told me I was wrong about my own birthdate! There was no effort made to extend hours just a few minutes or think about why the date might not be matching up. (In my pressure induced panic it didn't hit me until later why it wasn't working, It's great trying to make decisions when it feels kind of like the staff have a gun to your head.) Given the situation, I felt forced to pay for the medication. I didn't want my kids to bring lice into their school communities which were about to start up again for the year. The tech acted like it was no big deal and said that I could just come back and get it reimbursed later. She didn't listen when I explained that I didn't live in that town and that one of my children has disabilities which require many therapies each week making it even more difficult for me to return to get reimbursed. Sure enough, with all the anticipated and unanticipated stresses of my life (including fighting off the lice and a second round of COVID) when I returned to the pharmacy today to ask for reimbursement it was "too late" for the CVS to handle it. The head pharmacist was scornful and disrespectful. She gave me an "I told you so" and tried to tell me that they had stayed open late for me the previous time (which they had not). The only truly kind person I encountered today was one of the techs who looked up my insurance information today (which lo and behold did bring up my valid insurance account). There was another tech that listened when I first arrived and was professional. The head pharmacist is vindictive and lacking in compassion. This experience encapsulates so much of what is wrong with our system and big pharmaceutical companies: people who are only in it for the money and do not treat patients like people but like numbers ($$$). This is why I will avoid CVS at all costs and especially this one. This is why we need to protect our local independent pharmacies (like St. Paul Corner Drug) who actually know and care about their patients. When I go to St. Paul Corner Drug the pharmacists listen, they take the time to help, to explain everything clearly and they always respond with patience and compassion. It's sad that this is a rare experience these days but the local independent pharmacy offers care and service that is worth fighting for. (The review incorrectly says I'm based in San Francisco. The hours for the pharmacy are incorrect and I was not able to pick up my prescription, another sleepless night coming

Got a covid booster in April from pharmacist at CVS West St Paul. CVS pharmacy entered only part of my last name on the record, so the vaccine does not show up on the MN vaccine "Docket" website and the vaccine card on my CVS app does not have my correct last name. It's a problem for me since I work in health care and I travel. I went in person to the pharmacy three times to try to get this corrected. Was told "I'll write a note to myself to take care of this", "I will have someone fix this on Monday" and today (It's July 5 now) a tech spoke with the pharmacist and gave me the phone # to Minute Clinic - when I called Minute Clinic (no surprise here) they could not help. I phoned back so I could contact the pharmacy supervisor I was told she doesn't have an email. The person on the phone took my information and said "give it 7 days". I'd like to think a company that gives prescription drugs to patient would be a little more precise and organized. Too bad there's no zero rating here. Once I get this cleared up (if I ever do) I will never go to West St Paul CVS pharmacy again. read more

Literally would give zero stars if I could. The pharmacy here is so horrendous I have never once had a good experience. They're slow, unorganized, can't do easy tasks. I have filled my prescriptions there for years and last time they said I didn't have insurance on file. They were too incompetent to read that I had insurance on file and it took them an extra 15 minutes that I had to sit there while they realized I was on file. In tho if that, their drive through is the slowest on earth. read more

I have always had great service from the pharmacists at this CVS. Of course, prescriptions and insurance are often complicated and sometimes they need to sort through the fine print on things, but always do so cheerfully and to my satisfaction. Also, the store is well stocked with a wide range of products. I really appreciate having this drugstore so close to our home. read more

I wouldn't even rate them a 1 star. Went to do a pcr covid test. The directions online they had me read did not mention breaking off the swab in the tube. I have only done rapid test or saliva tests before. Both people who addressed me in the drive thru were not very friendly. When the reluctantly asked me if he needed to go through the directions I said no because I read the online one's and I knew how to adminster the swab. It would have been worth mentioning to make sure I break the swab off and leave it in the tube something that was not included in the online directions I got as a step in the process. When I realized there was a different set of direction in the bag behind another piece of paper I noticed that set said to break the swab off which did me no good now that I had put the swab in the plastic i took it out of. When I called them back I spoke to a representative who hung up on me when I asked her if I could speak to someone in store and just go back and redo it since I had just left or if I needed to make yet another appointment and also if she knew if my insurance would still be charged for a test they cannot complete. This was hands down the worst service I have ever recieved. Where is the empathy in the care provided here? I will never use this service again. I'll go pretty much anywhere else next time. read more

Trying to talk to the pharmacy staff on the phone two separate times was on hold for 20 minutes each time, each time someone picks up and says please hold and never picks up the phone. It's so irritating I can't even call to save time to give them my new insurance card. Instead going to have to go in, wait in line, give them my card, they will have to then fill or refill the RX, so more waiting. I used to work at a pharmacy this would've never been acceptable where I had worked. Not convenient for patients/customers AT ALL. read more

Service is always excellent! Not a line ever like Walgreens. The selection of drinks and frozen food is awful though. The prices are not very good either compared to Walgreens. The CVS locations in Los Angeles are way better as there stores are updated and offer more selection. read more

The nurse practitioner came out of the office, put up a sign saying she was at lunch and walked right by me when she left. Every time we want to use one of their "coupons" that they send us, it doesn't work. No matter which one of us uses our CVS "card", the same thing happens. I think they should be held accountable for false advertising. Why should both of us have to be there to use the stupid coupon? No more for us. CVS is not honest with their coupons in our opinion. Usually a manager will come over and help the cashier fix the problem. But some of the cashiers are too lazy to call for a manager to fix the problem. So.. we are using a different store from now on. Would rate 0 if I could. The employees are so rude. Walked in with my sister to get some candy and a face mask after our dog died and there's this employee literally following us around. We don't look suspicious we're literally teen girls. Anyways we got to the candy isle and decided the face mask was kind of expensive and not good quality and we were just gonna head to target. Anyways we bought some candy and went to check out and the girl checking us out was like "You decided not to get the face mask?" And we're like no sorry we put it back. And she's like "we watched you and you didn't go back over there." And so my sister went to took it out of the candy isle and put it back. They basically implied we stole it which is possible I guess since we had a computer bag with us having been typing school essays at target earlier. Anyways they basically implied we stole and it was so uncomfortable and rude and I have really bad anxiety so Kayla or CVS workers I hope you read this and know I went home and sobbed because you made me feel so shitty. I know we should have put it back in the right spot but we were in a big hurry to get home and DIDNT THINK YOUD YELL AT US. Normally I don't like to swear, but fuck you Kayla. People like you are the reason people with generalized anxiety disorder are scared to shop in public. read more
