Located in the plaza del Lago, which is a cute plaza and Spanish inspired? Came here to get a few items (before brunch) and on a Sunday late morning, the parking lot was clear and perhaps there were only two other shoppers in the entire store. I was quite surprised by their wine selection and I was even more surprised that an entire section was 75 percent off. Yes, that's right - 75 percent off!! It was a Spring cleaning day and they had to make room for their shipment. I jumped on Binny's site to do a quick price comparison and confirmed that these bottles were dirt cheap. I would have purchased more but I'm already well stocked. All in all, I purchased a $100 worth for like $27 bucks. Thank you CVS for the excellent customer service too!! read more

I am a physician and the device of this pharmacy is truly deplorable. The pharmacy is critically understaffed and people have to wait of 30 minutes or more at the drive in window. The prescriptions are very shoddy. I called in a prescription for a patient and instead of filling the prescription I called in they filled it with al older prescription from EPIC. Caveat Emptor. If you decide to use this pharmacy I strongly suggest you check your prescriptions and majke sure that they are correct. read more

Just before Thanksgiving, four of our family members (living together) went for drive up COVID-19 tests at CVS Pharmacy Wilmette. CVS really has the testing procedures down pat. The website to schedule the drive-up appointments was a bit challenging, but once we scheduled the appointments everything went smoothly. The pharmacy tech handed each of us the test kit through the drive up "drawer" and walked us through each step of the test. She even threw in a few jokes to distract us during the 15 seconds when the test swab is so far up your nose you are convinced it is going to hit your brain. In each case, the results came back within the projected time (approx. 3 days). Four negatives! read more

Just wanted to update my review from long ago. The issue with the checkout counter is mostly resolved, but what really puts this location above the rest are the pharmacists. I can't recall ever using a pharmacy where you see the same faces, always friendly and helpful and informative. Occasionally, they need to leave a message on my phone about insurance or something and I actually know who it is speaking. I don't know if this is because other pharmacies have a higher turnover or if it's because their service and aptitude are memorable, but you remember them as individual pharmacists-- and you like them. It'd be wonderful if more national chains could somehow replicate this small town, old-fashioned feeling. For now, I'm glad to have encountered it at this CVS. Went to this location to get tested for covid. On the confirmation it indicated to look for indication of where to go and I saw nothing so I went inside. At the entrance were two ladies. An African American and a Caucasian and in asked " where do I go to get tested?" The Caucasian lady looked at me and her response was " didn't you read your email that says not to come inside". I couldn't believe she said that as she continued to say i had to go thru the drive thru. I told her she have to be rude. Then the African American lady jumps in the conversation to say she wasn't rude and as I walked out she said " I hope you have covid". My husband heard and couldn't believe she said what she said. That is the person CVS has working for them? I called corporate and have yet to get a call back. Never did I think that would be said to someone during these times. read more

This is the first time that I've written a review other than for a restaurant; however, I think everyone needs to know about this pharmacy in Wilmette. With Tom, the pharmacist and Lesley behind the pharmacy counter, it has the feel of a small town pharmacy rather than a chain. They are both so helpful and cheerful. Never thought I'd write a review of a drugstore, but this new (still new to me) CVS at Plaza del Lago in Wilmette is excellent. I am greeted nearly each time I enter the store, and asked if I need help finding things. The store is smaller than most CVS stores (although fully stocked), well laid out, clean, and attractive. If I do need help, the staff is...well, helpful. I have often been, as well, cut corners here and there, in the sense of being allowed to use old coupons and such. I am especially a fan of the pharmacy department, and have found the pharmacy staff personable, knowledgeable, and helpful. As someone said below, the store is not always busy, so there can be times when staff is not manning the registers. I have found, however, that personnel appear quickly as soon as I step up to the counter. One final plus--this new store nicely compliments the Jewel at Plaza del Lago, and is bringing in a good deal of business and traffic into the mall. read more

I have never been treated as poorly as I was today. The Pharmacist was completely inappropriate. I called to explain that my meds looked different. The pharmacist rudely explained that it was the only brand they carried. Fine! No issue. However, the lady who answered the phone apologized for not informing me that it would be a different brand. After I spoke to my health insurance provider I called back. All I wanted was to be reimbursed, so I could go to a different pharmacy, that carried the brand I wanted. The pharmacist got on the phone and said "that's the only brand we carry". The conversation went back and forth with me expressing my feelings towards the situation. The pharmacist then replied "I will give you a refund, but don't ever come back to this store". So I hung up. When I arrived I placed the medication on the counter. Shortly after Thomas Bailey came over and snatched it. He replied "If you wanna be nasty than so can I". Oh I'm sorry I was frustrated and all I wanted was a refund. I was so furious with his disrespect I started to cry. How do you treat people like that? I have been in this store more than once and have never experienced anything like that. Regardless of your feelings towards a customer you do not get to tell them to never come back. Furthermore, you don't act nasty and disrespectful in front of a small child. He could be the nicest person to each and every other customer. People may be shocked to hear that Thomas Bailey did such a thing. You don't get to treat ANYONE like they are less of a person. read more

Fairly friendly employees and pharmacy staff but long wait times for scripts to be filled

I couldn't imagine writing a review like this for a pharmacy chain until moving back to the area & using this location. I drive past several other closer pharmacies just because I think this place is great. Tom is wonderful & truly makes this pharmacy feel like a small town store with personal attention. Everyone else I've encountered has been wonderful, as well. I really appreciate the helpfulness & attention & I will definitely continue to go here. Thanks Tom & everyone! read more
