This Walgreens is large and airy, bright and clean, with a more upscale feel to it. It is fully stocked. One big advantage of this store is that it is opened 24 hours a day! Another factor that impresses me most is the store's management. It has not just one, but two very nice and helpful managers. It had happened that I had clipped a $9 digital coupon online. Its requirement was to spend $40(or $30?) in a Walgreens store and I would get the coupon when I checked out. However, it didn't happen even after I spent the required amount. Long story short, the female manager was very nice and helpful, she apologized and manually added a $10 credit to my Walgreens loyalty account. When I went home and checked my Walgreens account online, I didn't see the added $10. So, the next time I went to this Walgreens, I talked to another manager, Sergio. The female manager had gone for the day. Sergio was very patient, kind, and helpful. To our surprise, he found that I actually had two accounts with Walgreens (apparently a mixed-up done by the pharmacy of another Walgreens), one with a slightly different name. The female manager had somehow credited the account that I did not know I had, and therefore did not actively use. Sergio gave me the phone number of their tech support department that could help me eliminate one of the accounts (that I will call, I promise). When I was checking out, he rushed over to make sure that I could apply my $10 credit without any problems. Kudos to Sergio! Now, as I know that I have two accounts, I am mindful to tell the cashier which one to use, until I can get one eliminated, or get them combined.

This is the location of the corporate office park for Walgreens. The buildings are all…read moreinterconnected through a raised walkway which makes it nice when the weather is bad. The main building is nice inside and has plenty of lobby seating before a sales meeting. Inside there is so much memorabilia about the Walgreens family and how they got their start in the pharmaceutical business. It truly is a business passes down through the generations. The office park is located next to the highway for easy access and there is plenty of free parking if you want to come inside and see all the Walgreens collected merchandise through the years.

I ordered a bottle of shampoo online from CVS, pay for it, said we'd be in the next morning to pick it up which wife did. It turns out they didn't have the shampoo I ordered, so they substituted something entirely different. So I called the store, explained my situation, and was given over to "the big boss." Big boss was neither polite, helpful, or the least bit courteous. He asked if I had a receipt. I had the bag the shampoo came in but there was no receipt in the bag. I told him we picked this up from you this morning and it's the wrong product. Can you not manage your website? Do you not have it people? Do you have stock people that can interface with the IT department? "We're sorry we can't help you," Boss said. Quite honestly I wouldn't step foot in a CVS pharmacy again unless I needed a medication and Walgreens was completely out. Even then, I would do so reluctantly.

However, the pharmacist could not have been nicer and accommodating. She brought us into a private room and gave my son a pharmacist costume if he got the shot along with several lollipops. We also got 10% off coupons for groceries, which was perfect timing with the holiday that week. The shot was over before we knew it and successful! The grocery store is also large! It has a wide variety of beer and liquor and a huge bakery. The customer service in the pharmacy, checkout and front counter were all exceptional.

No shoes, no shirt, no service? Doesn't apply here. (Although you probably should wear a shirt)

I've read about the highly unusual staff here (I am a longtime customer) but I didn't see any of them on a recent visit. The staff is friendly and helpful (though short-staffed). I sent over 100 photos to print (photos? I know!) and though no one was at the photo counter when I arrived, I rang the bell and someone came to help me. It took a little time to find my order (not unusual I find this happens) but they did locate it and I was pleased with the results.

Normally, I would choose shipping, but due to the recent heat, I didn't want to risk the chocolates melting in transit. So instead, I checked local store availability and saw that the Wheeling location had 3 boxes in stock. I placed an order for in-store pickup, and my husband picked them up today (7/3/25). It should have been a simple and straightforward transaction, but unfortunately, 2 out of the 3 boxes turned out to be expired. One had an expiration date of 6/30/25, and the other 5/31/25. Only one box had a reasonable expiration date of 10/31/25. For comparison, the box I've been enjoying at home, that was purchased two months ago from a different retailer, does not expire until 1/31/26. Walgreens really needs to implement better quality control regarding expiration dates. Selling expired products, especially food items like chocolates, is unacceptable. And since the Wheeling store only had these 3 boxes at the time of my order, I now have to make a trip to another Walgreens to return or exchange the expired ones.

They have pretty much whatever you want. And if your prescription is with North Shore health they are set up automatically with the hospital and your primary care physician. Even for my drugs that require in person prescriptions the wait is usually less than 15 minutes. I drive up drop off the script sit in the car for a few minutes and drive back around. No muss no fuss
