This is my experience so you decide whether or not to use this company. I had new home constructed and the builder I hired used CW Floors for all the flooring in the house. It has been three years since we moved in and the tile in one shower started coming up around the shower drain. We contacted someone to redo the tile and was shocked when we were shown the problem. After the tile was removed around the drain, it revealed that a plastic water bottle had been used to connect the shower drain to the PVC (see the photos). We contacted the builder who told us to stop doing anything else and he would contact CW. It was three weeks before CW was able to get people to fix the drain and repair the tile. But when they were finished, there was a 1/4 inch drop from the original shower floor to the new tile around the drain. I tried to use the shower but almost cut my foot on the sharp edges from the tile drop off. I contacted "Tony" who came out and agreed the tile wasn't adequate and needed to be replaced. The shower (see photo) has a glass wall and glass door. Because they now needed to remove and replace the entire floor, the glass wall had to be removed. It was three more weeks before a glass company would come out and remove the glass wall. Once it was removed, the tiler came back out and removed all old tile and installed new tile. But once the new tile was installed, the floor had been raised and the glass wall would not fit. This time I waited more than a month for someone to come back and attend to this new problem. When the floor tile was adjusted for the fourth time, the glass company was able to install the glass wall... but the glass door would no longer close without risking shattering the glass because there was no longer a gap between the glass door and the wall. Tony allowed the glass people to take the shower door and "trim" but when it was returned, there was a large gap between the glass door and the glass wall... way beyond industry standard. Finally, there was a meeting with the people who originally made the glass door, the builder and Tony from CW. Everyone agreed the glass door needed to be replaced except for Tony from CW. Tony said he was only responsible for the floor, but wouldn't acknowledge it was his people who had changed the floor and why the glass wall/door no longer fit as before. Ultimately, we filed in Small Claims Court and the day after CW Floors was served, they agreed to pay for the door. Unfortunately, I am out $1,000 for what we had to spend to check all the other drains in the house. We are out another $1,000 for all the tile CW Floor used and didn't replace (we had extra tile but this is supposed to be for us to use when something needed replacing; not because they used a water bottle for a drain). And for more than four months we have had to use the showers in our children's room at a major inconvenience... all of which CW didn't not express any regret for. It's hardly up to building standards to use a water bottle as a shower drain and I was willing to just get this fixed and call it square. But CW did as much as they possibly could to accept responsibility. They could have fixed this all within a couple of weeks and if they hired people who knew how to install tile, there would have been no issues with the glass wall/door. DO NOT PURCHASE FROM CW FLOORS!!! Our experience with this company has been extremely disappointing. The luxury vinyl flooring was installed incorrectly from the outset. When we initially contacted the company to address the installation issues, we were charged additional labor costs to correct problems that should never have occurred. When the company eventually returned to perform repairs, the original hardwood flooring beneath the luxury vinyl flooring was significantly damaged. Based on our independent assessment, a moisture barrier should never have been installed over the existing hardwood floors in the manner it was. When we raised these concerns, the company attributed the problem to moisture in the concrete slab; however, the damage and issues were isolated to specific areas, which raises serious questions about that explanation. Throughout the process, the company failed to stand behind its workmanship and product. Rather than taking responsibility and working toward a reasonable resolution, the experience became increasingly difficult and adversarial. As a result, we have been forced to pursue legal remedies to protect our interests. We made the mistake of assuming we were hiring a professional flooring company that would stand behind its work. Based on our experience, I would strongly encourage others to carefully consider alternative flooring providers before making a decision. read more

A Living NIGHTMARE to deal with them! I contracted them to do the floors in most of my house. It was a nightmare beyond my worst nightmare. The salesman told me it would take 3-4 days. But they tore the floor up and left my house in a state of dust and destruction for almost 7 weeks! We couldn't use the air conditioner (because of the extreme amount of dust) and it was one of the hottest summers on record. We had to pay hotel bills and my eldery father became ill and my son had a mental breakdown. I didn't have the luxury of getting ill or breaking down. I had to deal with this nightmare company for weeks. Finally after about 6 weeks, I told them ENOUGH! I told them to either finish or get out. I didn't realize until after that they asked for the entire amount in advance for a reason. I had no recourse. They were total jerks to do this to me. I informed managment and the owner, but they did little to nothing to help. The salesman was nice, but everyone else didn't do their job. They left me, my family, and house in hell for 7 weeks! I visited CW Floors & Lighting off Loop 410 and Jackson Keller looking for Brazilian hardwood flooring. There were three older gentlemen working and only one other customer in the store, yet no one greeted us when we walked in. One employee was on his computer while the other two were on their phones. When I asked if they carried Brazilian hardwood, I was told no. I asked again, since it's a pretty common option, and only then did he say yes, vaguely pointed to it, and walked away without offering any further help. The customer service was terrible--cold, dismissive, and uninterested. We felt like our business didn't matter to them, so we left. Definitely won't be returning. read more

I have not purchased from CW yet, but I will tell you that they are very helpful. As an African American female I don't get acknowledged at many of the flooring and lighting stores I go to. In fact they purposely ignore me and only follow me to ensure I'm not taking anything. You can imagine as a veteran that's served over 20 years, it is disturbing to still be treated this way. CW was a breath of fresh air. They made us feel welcome, did their best to answer our questions and gave us a card for follow up. Thanks Annette for making us feel welcome and like a true customer. Really poor customer service! I'd HATE to work with these guys - good ole boys talking down to women. And it doesn't seem like they truly understand their products. If you've done ANY amount of research, these guys can't help you- nor do they actually want to help. I was waiting for someone to even acknowledge me for 25 minutes. I would say this place is between 3-4 stars. I don't like to be negative on here so I usually give places higher than lower. I walked in and everyone on the floor seemed busy. A gentlemen that was fixing a light fixture said someone will be with me. 15 mins later I see people at their desk working without looking to see if their is someone in the store that needs attending. I was about to walk out but Dale I believe he was a manager finally was nice enough to attend to me. I had my one year old son with me so my time is limited at the store. But Dale saw what kind of carpet I was looking for and went straight to the back to show me something i may like and at a great price! I was able to have him come to my home that afternoon to measure and within 3 days I was getting my carpet installed. Now where they need work on is the installers that come to peoples home especially during COVID. He came without a mask and without shoe protectors. I had to ask for at least the mask. He did his job in 6 hours and left. I thought he would at least vacuum up the extra carpet pieces everywhere. But I definitely would say better service for walk ins and possibly training their installers during COVID items can help improve this store. But I am happy with the carpet in the end. read more

We are looking for vinyl plank flooring for our home renovation. This place has a few types we were interested in. Tony was very very helpful answering questions and showing us the different types available and explaining the differences. It can get confusing. He gave us 3 very large samples to try in our home. Those samples are so much better than the little squares you get elsewhere. The prices may be a little higher here and we are not sure how this works when we already have a contractor our insurance company has assigned to do the work. Hopefully the price will be better when we get our repair estimate to bring to CW to order flooring. Of all the places we went Tony was what why we felt very comfortable with CW floors. read more

I do not plan to return to this business, and I would not recommend it to anyone. This week I visited the store to look for new dining room lighting. I wandered through the store, passing by several employees, including the woman at the front reception desk and a few other desks with employees. A couple other employees also walked past me. At the lighting desk, while I was just feet away, a worker and a builder were talking negatively about a client. They were joking about how this client couldn't make up his or her mind about lights. I was disgusted with how rude the employees were, in not only acknowledging I was even in the showroom, as well as the banter. Working with Daisy for a couple weeks. I was ready to finalize my transaction and get the carpet ordered and pay half of the quoted amount. Without my authorization, Daisy charged the entire amount without my authorization and would not reverse and correctly charge half. I canceled the order for lack of customer service or a willingness to abide by the payment arrangements I was initially given. I have been a customer since 2001. have made many purchases for 3 homes and have referred many people to this company. Sales agents like Daisy will be the reason this company loses customers. Hire CW at your own peril. After submitting a claim in Aug 2022 for a botched plank flooring installation and having two independent flooring inspectors (one of which was hired by CW) both verify the substandard work, no one from the company has contacted me or (god forbid) shown up to actually inspect the issues themselves. Issues include no moisture testing, improper foundation leveling, improper installation of the plastic underlayment, improper gap allowance under walls/brick/door jams, and failure to meet manufacturer's minimum plank gap lengths - so basically everything that could go wrong with a floor installation. The house has been torn apart for 6 months as we can't move furniture back onto the flooring since it must be removed to fix issues. The only good experience was my very helpful showroom assistant, but she left the company after the claim was filed...I don't blame her for jumping ship. read more

Needed to tile the last two bedrooms of my house. I have had other companies do work on all the rest of the house. This is the first time I used this company, my wife found it. The scheduled floor tile work took longer to complete and delayed painters coming in (after floor was done) on schedule. Cost me an extra $150 paying painters for delay. The floor job was good but since there was only one person showed up to do installation it took him longer to do two bedrooms by himself. He just wanted to get out of here at the end. There were several delays because installer kept recommending certain things to prep floor before job started and it would add to cost. Had to wait for store supervisor and pass on it. Supervisor ruled it would certainty be better but was not necessary. If recommended preps were done, floors would last 40 yrs. I'm 70 yrs old. Would I care? The expert floor person that came and measured the rooms over estimated tile need an I was stuck with 20 pieces on tile. No return, No refund, No credit was given. The salesman here took forever to get our order done. Our contractor measurements weren't good enough so I remeasured per his specifications but that wasn't good enough. He had to go to our house to measure himself. Needless to say, it took 3 weeks to even get tile ordered. After we started laying the tile, we didn't have enough and guess what!?? Nope, had to specially truck in the only remaining pieces from California and the freight cost more than the tile. We were told he was ordering extra and we could bring back any overages. We did have overages in some things. But, when we tried to return it, big hassle. We went through it's been over 30 days and this isn't a full box when it was paid for by the piece... We were never told 30 days, the tile work took longer waiting to get more tile!!! We even went directly to the distributor to get it. We had a huge project going on and after having so much trouble getting the tile for just one bathroom ordered and received (of which part he ordered the wrong size tiles and that had to be re-ordered... and we had to wait for that too) we went elsewhere for our tile and wood flooring and got much better prices and faster delivery! I would NOT recommend this place unless you have a lot of time and money to burn! They refused to refund for the unused tile. THE TILE SHOP gives you SIX months to return unused pieces!!! FLOOR AND DECOR gives you 90 days and will take it back after that (at the managers discretion of course) so I'll be doing business with those guys!!! Oh and they know how to calculate how much tile you really need. CW Floors does not. read more

In 2015 my husband and I ordered wood vinyl flooring through CW Flooring in San Antonio, to be installed in our living room, dining room and kitchen. Mary Stocker was our sales representative and appeared to be knowledgeable and good to work with. She provided the subcontractor to install the floors and they, Jason and Shelly, were absolutely a pleasure to work with. They were professional, organized and considerate. They installed the flooring with minimum interruption to our daily living. Based upon that experience, we returned to CW Flooring in June of 2019 to have wood vinyl flooring installed in all three bedrooms. This turned out to be a huge mistake on our part. This experience was an utter disaster from the beginning, Mary, again, took charge in ordering the flooring and obtaining subcontractor, Erick Figueroa. She assured us he would be every bit as good as Jason and Shelly were so we had confidence all would be well. On the morning of June 19, 2019, they were to start installation and did not get to our home until 10:30 a.m. When my husband got home from work in the early afternoon he called me and said the house was a disaster. Every bedroom was emptied out so no place to sleep for the night. When he walked in their radio was blaring music so he had them turn it off. Furniture was everywhere in our living, dining and kitchen; so much so that I could barely get to the kitchen to fix a bite to eat. The front door was completely blocked off, I could not get to my dining room so we had to eat holding our plates in our laps on a loveseat (the only place we could sit). I immediately called Jason (who is not\w a supervisor for CW Flooring) and told him we needed to have one bedroom completed for sleeping. He advised Mr. Figueroa to complete the master bedroom before leaving. That job was not finished until 8:30 p.m and I had 2 hours of dusting and cleaning in order to sleep in the room. Dust was everywhere. We had removed many things from each room to facilitate the installation; however, no one told us to cover computers, tv's, clothes, etc. to protect from the dust and dust was everywhere. I would expect that the contractor would be prepared to cover items as they would have the necessary covers to do so. An acquaintance of mine, who has a contracting business agreed that the contractor should have taken action to protect items from possible damage. My husband had to spend $100.00 just to have his suits and dress shirts cleaned as they were full of dust...fortunately my things could just go in the washer and dryer. After several calls to both Mary and Jason they ceased returning my calls. I finally called the store, versus Mary's cell number and was able to talk with her. She was not as pleasant as before but did say that she would have Jason come to our house and fix a flaw in the master bedroom flooring. That was Wednesday, July 3, 2019, and I am waiting to hear from him. All of this said, I would suggest anyone planning to use CW Flooring do your best to check out the subcontractor before signing up for a job and do not use Erick Figueroa unless it's an unoccupied house. I will say, in closing, that so far the flooring itself looks good, except for the one area in the master bedroom; but, the lack of organization and complete lack of consideration for the homeowner's needs during installation cause us to give a one star rating. read more
