I thought that I was buying the best I could with the Cycle Dog Nestle Dog Bed. It is pretty waterproof. However it is very "Poofy" and the center sleeping area never settled down, resulting in my dog getting basically bounced back out, when she'd jump in. So she didn't want to use the bed. Also the bed got moldy. It was on a cover porch, only getting a little mist now. It's supposed to be anti-bacterial material. I got two collars from here. The first one was great. The second one was the wrong size when it got here. They replaced it with another one that was the wrong size. Then they replaced that with the correct size and had me return the other two via USPS. Then it broke two weeks later. They've asked me to pay to return it at USPS again and they'll fix it and send it back. I kind of just wanted a collar, not a project. I'm giving up and I'll just buy one from somewhere else. I bought an extra large bed for my dog, from Cycle Dog, a few weeks ago. What I liked about it was that you could wash it completely. I washed it as soon as I got it to test it. It leaked a stain through onto the bed, from product inside. I put it through a rinse cycle and the stain was gone. My dog did not like the bed, it was uncomfortable. The next day I requested a return and refund. They asked for pictures, and why I washed it. I explained I had Lupus and since COVID I wash everything. After back and forth emails, the owner refused to provide me with a shipping label, return or refund, saying the bed in used and cannot be sold... This was a beautiful bed, but the quality was poor, it fell flat after one wash- and very uncomfortable. Worst yet was the service, nothing but apathy and disinterest to help bring resolution to a customer. I'm out of 160$. Horrible experience! read more

These collars are durable, stylish, and easy to clip on and off with the airplane seat buckles. Not to mention the super cool bottle openers attached, so if you're heading to the river or park, they're a must have!! I've purchased one of these for each of my dogs at this point, and the quality remains the same! I wish I had more dogs to put these collars on! Also, the smell that other fabric collars attract do not live here with these collars. When I seen this company's collars and leases I thought they are so cute. So I purchased a medium for my morkie and a lease to match (neon yellow) paid $60.00 for the pair. Once I received them the collar was way to big and I wanted this color no matter where I went easier to walk at night with the neon yellow. So I found out the small size they do not have in the neon yellow. So I went through hell to send these back for a refund. I paid to return them which I had no problem doing. But when I received my refund instead of refunding my $60.00 they refunded $55.00. This is company is obviously desperate for money. I wouldn't recommend them to anyone because if they have to return something they will be charged on top of return shipping. Bad business practices. read more

I recently saw a Facebook video describing their custom made harness and matching leash. My dog is a 90 pound super puller, so I thought I would give it a try. The whole experience was amazing from start to finish. They had me measure my dog, how thoughtful in case she was reactive to other people. I ordered the one I wanted, talked to the person from the video who offered some great suggestions for fit, and materials. I paid, left, and about an hour later I was texted to say it was ready. Admittedly, I haven't purchased anything from Cycle Dog (yet) but every Wednesday they host an indoor doggie playgroup which saves my life from having to deal with an overactive dog at home when it's too rainy to go to the dog park. Love that they do that, plus everyone who works there is so nice. As far as their products go, they seem a tad pricey but worth it because everything is up-cycled and super sturdy since I think most of it is made from old inner tubes? I probably couldn't be more in love with a company than I am with Cycle Dog. As a core product offering, they use bicycle tubes and make collars, leashes, bowls, and toys. Wow! As a dog lover and cyclist, my mind was blown when I walked into their warehouse and learned about the company! Additionally, all of the products are made right there in the warehouse! There's a wide selection of patterns and styles to choose from, and it seems they have expanded the number of patterns they have in stock. They advertise that they make custom items as well. They also have beds, toys, and their own line of small treats (for my 45 pound dog, they are the size of training treats). There are a few resident dogs who are happy to welcome you into the shop. There's a nice fenced in play area for shopping pups and owners to test some of the toys. The shop advertises organized play dates within the play area. I've interacted with several employees and all have been knowledgable and really helpful. I bought one of the traveling bowls and its held up for over a year, so I feel their products are very durable. I purchased a ball today and am excited to see how my dog likes it. I haven't been in the market for a new collar and leash set, but will certainly give theirs a try when it's time. They are advertised as durable and stink-free, so I'm hopeful! With the huge cycling tie in, they also sell a small selection of cycling gear (road and MTB). Come on Cycle Dog - I've got my fingers crossed for some kit shorts to come out soon too! We came here on a really rainy day, and it was sure crowded! I really like this place, the staff was very very friendly and seemed to know all the regular dogs. My dog is more of a people dog, so he wasn't really into the dog park thing. The reason it's 4 stars is because we were hungry, and didn't want to walk anywhere for food, but there was nothing close by. We heard there is a food truck going in within the next few months, so that would be a great addition. read more

I am all for recycled items made locally and will try my best to support Portland businesses. I ordered a dog collar and later returned it. But they only offered me store credit even though I had a receipt. Also the store credit expires after a year which is pretty weak. I looked on the website and didn't see anything about not getting a refund. Another item I selected local pickup but they shipped it to me instead. I love the idea of Cycle Dog, but even though I've stopped in a few times, I still don't actually own any products. I really like that they recycle bicycle tubes and that manufacturing takes place at the local warehouse on Quimby. I like that the leashes and collars are durable and stink resistant (or at least they advertise so). The only thing I don't like, and reason I don't currently own any products, is the design. They use very loud, bright colors, and crazy patterns, which really is not my style. Or Remy's. I'll keep an eye out for more modest, classic products, at which point I would be more than happy to support this awesome local business. One other plus is the indoor play group on Wednesdays. It's a small space, but it's free and fun! Plus, they'll offer you a beer. Definitely worth checking out, especially if your dog's style is more on the bright and crazy side. read more

What's not to love about Cycle Dog? Local company, great post-consumer recycled products, fantastic service, and in our neighborhood! They have it all! We brought our 5-month-old puppy Milo in for their small dog play night for the first time today which used to be on Tuesdays from 5-6pm. They have since changed it to Sundays from 1-2pm, but one of their employees graciously brought her dog out to play with ours in their indoor turf area. They even offered us beers which my husband really appreciated. Milo is still figuring out the whole playing with other dogs thing & so it was great to see him playing so well with Clover. Clover's mom even extended an invitation to bring Milo by to play with Clover anytime! We purchased a reflective collar & leash for him here as well a few weeks back. It is great for taking him on walks after dark especially since he's a small dog. The quality is great & the leash material is slightly grippy so it feels nice & secure when you're holding it too. As long as we're in Portland, we will be loyal Cycle Dog customers! read more

This is such a cute dog shop, I was immediately greeted upon entering the store by a friendly yellow lab dog. And, soon followed up by a small white-dog of some sort. And, naturally, I was greeted and helped by the human-of the store too. They don't have a huge selection, but they have a lot of really good stuff there at good prices. My least exciting purchase was their doggie bags, they are environmentally friendly and come with a cute reusable carrying case. They were marked as $10 with the extra case, versus the price of $12 at REI, so it is a cheaper to buy them here if you can! In addition, I bought the cutest hippo-toy, my dog went crazy for it. We call it "running laps" when he has a new toy that he treasures and he runs upstairs and then runs downstairs continuously (he is a high-energy dog blue heeler +german shepherd mix so we strongly encourage the constructive burning off of energy by "running laps" in our house by Remy. But, yeah he carries the hippo around with him as a teddy bear and it is fairly destructive (he did manage to chew off a little leg already, but the helpful saleslady said that would most likely happen since he is a destructive chewer, and the hippo is a better design for him then say, the turtle). But, it is recycled plastic, and it is very durable the toy will last him a long-while. And, let me back up the reason why I got this toy, is cuz we were visiting friends who have a Husky who is also a destructive chewer, and he treasured this toy. And, when I brought Remy over he noticed that toy right away, and I knew I had to buy one to have his own. IT was an owner responsibility to buy that toy! And, no buyer regrets what-so-ever it was worth every penny. They also have really cute collars and leashes for sale, I think I will go back soon and get a new collar for my other dog! read more

We randomly found cycle dog one day while walking around the neighborhood. Their building is very unique, it has a indoor turf playground for dogs to try out their many different toys which was awesome. We ended up buying a matching reflective leash and collar that had the bottle openers on it. They were both made from recycled inner tubes and looked great on our beagle. The staff was so helpful and nice. They fitted Dash for his collar. Both the leash and collar are great for taking your dog out for an evening walk because of how reflective it is. We loved it so much that we bought another two refelctive collars for our families dogs in California. We also bought a chew toy for Dash that he quickly chewed through. When we brought it back to the store they quickly replaced it. If your ever in the area you should definitely visit cycle dog and it's showroom.
