I ordered a tire that came in as expected, but when I went to pick it up and have it mounted, I was told it would take an additional 24-48 hours just to get the tire put on my wheel. Meanwhile, there were multiple employees standing around behind the counter not doing much, which made the long wait even harder to understand. For something that typically takes about 30 minutes at most shops, this felt unreasonable and inefficient. I ended up taking my business elsewhere to a shop that could actually get it done in a timely manner. Disappointing experience overall. read more

I came in looking for a new helmet. I explained what I was looking for and the sales person kept suggesting the most expensive option. I wanted to try on differnet brands but that was a no-go. number of bell helmets avaialbe to try on in the style I was looking at = 2. number of sedici in the same style = 20. number of arai = 20. The had every size/color combination on the wall for one brand while only 2 (wildly disparate ) sizes of another brand. I know that bilt and sedici are their brands but overstakcing the wall with just one brand make it look like you are stocked when you are not. I very much got the "we have the exact helmet you want in stock as long as it is XXX brand and XXX style."sure we list that helmet and size as available on the website but we don't actually stock it.... just order it and you can try it on then, after you are out the money. read more

My Experience was not good. The original sales person had me try on a C3 all they had was a 1x and a 2X however, I wanted a C5 he said that they fit the same so I would need extra large. I ordered and when I picked it up there was two different people and the one behind the register keep smarting off to me about what was included with the helmet. His statement was whatever is in the box! Nice answer real customer service at its best. They did not assist in anyway way. So I tried on the helmet and it was too large and the person behind the register accused me of tearing the box which was already ripped. Anyway I returned the merchandise and what the person did not realize if would have saved the sale was three words lets exchange it. I would have accepted that. The guy who was helping me every time I had a question he looked at me like I'm stupid, making some weird faces like "what are you talking about woman?" I literally spent 40 minutes looking at dirt bike helmets , watched the sales rep spend 20 minutes talking to another customer looking for a helmet who came after me . I have stated my concerns to her, via the requested mode of communication and have not heard back. This communication was sent over 1 month ago and I still have not heard anything back. I have also sent followup messages to Kiersten T., and I have received any responses in return. I have returned to the Plano, TX Cycle Gear, and the manager's lacking customer service coupled with his presentation for seeming to possess a very high distaste for being in a customer-facing role, is still presented by him. My wife and I came here one afternoon after buying motorcycles. We came here looking to purchase gear, clothes, helmets, and headsets. We thought a specialty store like Cycle Gear would offer a more personalized experience but we were wrong. There was one other couple in the store and 4+ employees but none seemed interested in offering assistance and actually avoided eye contact. We looked around for 20-30 minutes without being acknowledged, became frustrated and finally left. Fortunately, there was a dealership down the road who gladly took our $2k. Almost all of my visits to Cycle Gear have been positive. I've gotten a helmet, plenty of tires, and a couple jackets as well. Most of the time the customer service is pretty helpful and friendly, although one time I got an earful from the service guy for using fix-a-flat because he had to clean up the nasty mess in the wheel (I had no choice, needed to plug the leaking tire so I could bring the bike into Cycle Gear). Prices are pretty fair, and they usually have some good sales as well. Make sure to get on their mailing list, because they'll mail you coupons and also announce certain after-hours sales in those mailers. read more

Like Sean, most of my visits to Cycle Gear have been good. The staff is pretty good and the selection is better than what you'd find at a motorcycle dealership. Prices range from decent to occasionally great, and my friends like having their tires replaced here. Shopping experience aside, I had a phenomenal customer service experience with them. I bought a pair of boots and, after a year, the zippers went bad on both boots. I'm not tough on them, they were just poorly made. The manufacturer refused to do anything, but Cycle Gear gave me full credit towards a new set of boots. Unbelievable! I wouldn't expect them to do that again, it was a major exception, but it really made my day. That alone has brought me back to their store several times and I'd say I've spent about $500 there since that time. Selection is the main reason I take a star away - it's good but not outstanding. There's only one other shop in the area I'd recommend higher, thus four stars. Worth a visit! read more

I went there to replace a visor on my helmet and to get a replacement screw. Jim got me fixed up quick, fast, and in a hurry! He found the visor for my helmet, got my replacement screw, and when I mentioned my speaker in the helmet was blown, I was taken care of again! He explained the Bilt helmets and the warranty and I walked out with a brand new helmet!...with the new visor I purchased in place and ready to go. Problem solved! Great customer service! I'm a 50 year old female. I went in around 1230 on a Saturday in full riding gear 3 salespeople at cash register 3 customers including myself. I stood in front of the wall of helmets, holding mine for 5 minutes as I was ignored by the 3 male salespeople, walked around the store, went back to the helmets because I really wanted to try on a modular helmet in my size to buy. Nope. Ignored. Called and talked to the manager and all he could say was he was sorry and would talk to his guys. So much for taking the advice of my son and husband to shop there. Iv came there a few times, this last visit will be my last. They had my wheels for 7 days an i kept calling to see if they were finished installing my tires. Every time they'd say we're doing it right now or they will be done today. Finally the seventh day I went an picked em up. They hadn't even taken the tires off the rims or touched em. Watch for sales. They have some great deals during sales. The people at the store are always friendly and helpful. I recently bought some brake pads there. The clerk offered to double check that I'd bought the right pads. He checked and I had the right ones. But with so many to choose from I could have easily made a mistake and he potentially saved me time and long drive back. Good device. read more

Went in to exchange motorcycle helmet that I had purchased for my wife online. We were greeted immediately by John who took the helmet back and proceeded in helping us in finding the correct full face helmet with the proper fit for her. Since she is a 2X small it wasn't easy but he took his time in finding the right helmet for her and never seemed rushed or frustrated and believe me she tried on "several" helmets before finding the "right" one! While there we decided I needed one as well and he helped me in finding a great one. He then told us that we were to receive a Sena headset for both helmets since they were part of a sell campaign they were having. He took the time to install the units in both helmets, giving us instructions on using it, directing us to the Sena website for further instructions all while still answering the phone and helping out others. Went to get gear before we left for a trip. There was an okay selection of boots, but the people working there are very unfocused. It's like everyone has ADD. We had 3 different guys do our checkout... because we had a lot of stuff? no just 5 items, but we told one guy the boots were supposed to be $49 and showed him the ad, he said cool. And walked off because someone else asked him a question. Then another guy started checking us out, and walked off to get a hat, the third guy charged us full price for the boots and had to get the first guy to come back to verify that they were $49... it's not like it was a secret coupon... this was in the flyer on the table, the website and on the phone app. Very disappointed in the staff... read more

-I dropped off a wheel/tire to have a new tire mounted. They promised me it would be no big deal and they would have it done the following morning. I showed up late the following day and it was still sitting off to the side where I had left it. I questioned why it wasn't finished and they had no good reasons. I asked if I could wait and somebody mount the new tire right now. Henry told me he had "mounted his fair share of tires today and was too tired to mount anymore". No one else was willing to do it either so I picked up my stuff, chewed his a$$, and left. -They also have a habit of not answering their phone. -The store is often messy. -Most of the guys they hire don't last very long. Its always someone different working. -Not sure where the manager is, never see them. The positive things are they have a good selection of riding gear and have good prices. read more

They act like they are the only motorcycle gear store in town, and they may even be (I'm not from Dallas), but that doesn't mean I need the attitude to remind me of this. Lazy employees who stand around while gear sits scattered on the floor. Cluttered aisles make it hard to move around or find anything. I was looking around for a jacket for 10 minutes while 3 employees stood behind the counter bs'ing. Where are the managers? 2 stars for having what I wanted in stock.
