This was my first time at Cyclebar! Took the Margarita Monday class with Jasmine, which was 45 min of challenging rides and an arm workout at the end. (There were also drinks served after class!) As soon as I walked in, I was blown away by how friendly and welcoming this studio was. Don was amazing at showing me around, helping me with my shoes, and getting my bike ready for class. He even made a custom sign for me out front. Thank you, Don!!! The class itself was challenging and had great music and energy from Jasmine! Studio is clean, stocked, and has a great community. You just need to bring a water bottle and you'll be provided shoes, a towel, and anything else to make your ride as enjoyable as possible. Note: If you have wider feet, the shoes provided might feel a bit uncomfortable towards the end of class.

Welcome to the Falls Church City Cycle Bar! One thing that the little city does not have is a cycling studio. It's great how it's located in the heart of the mini district, right next to Harris Teeter and below West Broad Apartments. Walking distance for many local residents including myself. I heard about the studio though my apartment complex and checked it out online. My boyfriend and I thought to give it a try on our day off. We booked our bike online. As soon as we arrived, the front staff pleasantly greeted us. They directed us to the iPad for check in and pointed us to our cubby where our shoes were waiting to be picked up. So organized!!! The shoes were a bit narrow for me...but fits fine. I just have wide feet so it was a bit uncomfortable. Our instructor was Shane. He's exactly what other yelpers reviewed him as, great music and fun. He helped us with adjusting ourselves onto the bike. It was different for us compared to zengo and soul cycle. Is it better, if you ask? The pedals wasn't my fave but the monitor to record your results were awesome! Makes you competitive. So it's better for those are very into cycling and intermediate level. Shane routine pushes you. His playlist really got me pushing. Overall it was a great class! Let's talk studio. The layout of the bikes were too close. When stretching I accidently keep bumping into my neighbor and vice versa. There are two bathrooms, each with a shower. They provide hair ties, deodorant, towels, cotton swobs, and hair spray. The lockers are medium sized. Big enough to fit a small gym bag, shoes and purse. It's not a digital lock however you spin in your own pw and lock. For a beginner level, it's tough and it did not start out easy BUT I sure heck will come back! Prices: Drop in is $20 Currently having grand opening specials so check online or call the studio.

Personalized lockers for our first visit! So cute!!

I tried out cyclebar using classpass and can say it's def one of my fave cycling places. I hop around to different instructors and they're all good - I enjoy the high energy in every class. From the first class, the folks that work there have always been helpful and welcoming. As far as the logistics, there is free parking in the garage by Harris teeter. It's easy to get to the studio via the elevator from level P1 in the garage. Check-in is a breeze with the self check in. Note, if you use classpass, you'll get auto assigned a seat..if using classpass I like to check which seat I have. If I'm not really into where I'm placed and if they have room, they will kindly switch - just have to ensure I'm there far enough in advance to allow time for the update. Another pro is that they offer free shoe rental for those that do not have cycling shoes for these bikes. If you're looking for a fun and energetic indoor cycling class, def recommend trying out cyclebar!

CycleBar Falls Church is a great addition to the 'Little City', Falls Church. Located off West Broad St, neighboring Harris Teeter. Parking is available in the garage shared by Harris Teeter and West Broad Residence (P1). There are plenty of parking, and parking spaces dedicated to CycleBar guests. I started attending CycleBar because of their marketing of "Free" classes the first few weeks of their grand opening and the convenience of being right under my apartment complex. Registration online is fairly simple and user friendly once you create your account. Once you schedule your time slot for your class, you just need to show up, check in and grab a pair of your cycle shoes. Cycle shoes are provided and are conveniently placed in the assigned cubby below the check in tablet. The cubbies are labeled with numbers associated with the bike you reserved - very organized and straight forward! There are also lockers available where you can store your personal belongings - no lock required! There is a built lock for your daily use, as well as a USB port where you can bring your USB charging cable to charge your phone while you're in class! After putting away your personal items, you can fill up your water bottle at their water station. Quick stream of chilled water so you can fill up quickly and head into class. There are two bathrooms available! Cyclebar provides the toiletries and basic shower necessity you need. This is definitely a plus because when you're rushing to your early AM class, you may forget things. Now on to the classes. I have been to 5 continuous days of (Free) cyclebar classes so far and I keep coming back! Sure, early morning classes may be a struggle, but the thought of your workout being over at ~7am is great! Another reason why I keep coming back (besides it being free at the moment) is because of the motivation. Since starting, I have steadily moved up in rankings - today I made it to 2nd place! Cyclebar provides a modern twist to the traditional cycle classes. Each class incorporates upper body training so your arms are as toned as your legs! The playlist mixes of CycleBar beats keep you going. Each instructor is different and unique to each instructor and am happy to switch up everyday - music keeps the body moving. My favorite instructor with my type of beats to keep me moving so far is Monica! Love her energy and playlist. Aside from the amazing endorphin activated workout, the staff at cyclebar Falls Church has been amazing. I always have trouble locking my left cycle shoes and they seem to be there as soon as I look up! Overall, this premium indoor cycling is amazing. I look forward to joining in the CycleBar family soon!

I think an individual membership is something like $110/mo so it's extremely discounted. 2. Dry sauna in each of the two locker rooms is a huge, huge benefit. Very few gyms offer this. It's also the hottest sauna that I've been to (212 F) so very effective from a health and recovery standpoint. It's never been broken since I've been there. 3. Tons and tons of equipment that they update fairly regularly. New platforms underneath the racks was an addition earlier this year. Turf area is a nice plus too providing a dedicated area for plyometrics, stretching, sled pulls/pushes, etc. 4. Open 24/7. Parking lot is pretty big. Sometimes it's hard to find a spot since customers from other businesses also park in the back, but it is what it is. 5. Tons and tons of dumbbells that go up to over 100 lbs. For the smaller weights, they go up by 2.5 lbs, which is rare in other gyms. Only downside is that this isn't a gym for Olympic weightlifters. There are no bumper plates that weightlifters can drop from overhead. But it's a dream for bodybuilders and powerlifters.

Only downside: no phone number, email being the only contact option is a little annoying. Other than that, great gym overall!

This was the last straw. So much poor management I've witnessed throughout my time, especially with the pool. The water is always milky and has an overpowering scent of chlorine which leads me to suspect the pH is very off and they don't properly check and maintain pool cleanliness. They had their cleaning people use strong chemicals to clean the pool deck and windows during open hours. Random times they would shut down the pool without any prior notice via email or postings or otherwise. Lockers rooms always stank. This is not the case at other gyms I've been to. The premier memberships options like the recovery room and towel service were subpar compared to other Onelife facilities. Many times the hydromassage beds were not working and the red light recovery room's ambient temperature was way too hot. They should be offering eye protection for the red light like other facilities instead of just having a sign that says 'use at your own risk.' Plus one of the coat racks in the red light room is chipped and has an exposed nail that had been that way since they opened it (for months now). Their towels are tiny and would only cover the body of a child and are super rough like they overstarched them. Not to mention there were times where the towels ran out and when I asked a staff member about it, they just said that I'll just have to wait. Didn't bother to check if the dryer has clean towels, which it did when I asked a manager.

After completing Elements I purchased a monthly membership (which includes yoga and various workshops, as well as the opportunity to take classes at their sister gym, CrossFit Adaptation in Shirlington), and promptly cancelled my "traditional" health club membership -- no more treadmill for me! The gym is clean, full of a variety of equipment, and reasonably priced (compared to many other CrossFit gyms in the DC area). They offer a ton of classes each day (from 5:30am to 7:30pm) and there is a real sense of community among the members. I am always amazed at the variety of CrossFitters in each class -- all ages and all skill levels, all shapes and sizes. I looked at the local gym options and figured PF would be my best choice because it was close, inexpensive, and didn't require a long-term commitment. Once I started going, I realized what a great choice I made. The gym space is immaculate. There are plenty of machines. They are organized efficiently and are well-maintained. And I've yet to encounter any delays, even during their peak hours. The staff has been super helpful! Jeff, the on-site trainer, is there to recommend machines and exercises when I've asked. First off, staff rarely greet you either coming or going, especially the girls, but the boys are guilty too, & I have point blank looked them in the eye & said hi or bye only to get a side eye in response, lol, as if I am beneath them & don't bother. It is very rude at times. They also tend to all huddle at the front desk which leads to my next points. I am seeing more & more people not wiping down their sweaty equipment & a lot of people just leaving their paper towels on the gym floor & it sits there for the entire hour & a half I am there (& I'm sure even longer), & the bathroom counters are always full of water. I have also seen an uptick of people just hanging out on machines to use their phones or socialize & I'm not talking about the break you take between sets, I'm talking not even working out for over 20 minutes & just lounging on the machines. It seems to me if the staff made rounds they could easily curtail this behavior & reinforce all the signage hanging around the gym regarding these issues & asking people to follow these rules. I have found the gym to be cleaner at night & the staff is typically nicer too. They did just hire a new young guy with glasses who was refilling spray bottles but he was hanging out a lot with two older dudes that were working out & he seemed know them well & he also did not utter a word to anyone but them. So it seems his coworkers are leading by example & showing him the way even though he attempts to stay busy. The person that really needs to be commended is the guy with the long curly hair as he is always smiling, friendly & helpful. I just hope they step it up with the staff & get back to how it used to be. I really don't want to have to change gyms, lol.

However, the way the compute "Pay in Full" benefits decreases this benefit somewhat. What is variable is the trainer you choose to work with. There are several available and you should try each to see which one is best to motivate you. My recommendation is that even for the reasonably priced trial that you try each trainer to find the one who best resonates with you. Since then, I have been working out at the Bailey's Crossroads gym, four or five times a week, and I wanted to put in a few good words for the staff. Just this week, I attended one of Meagan's Silver Sneakers aerobics classes (which I used to take from her at Merifield). Meagan is a NATIONAL TREASURE when it comes to aerobics for seniors, and scores of regulars have migrated over from Merrifield and other parts of the DMV to continue taking her classes. In fact, we had so many people show up that Orlando and Bryce had to bring in extra chairs, and I think we ran out of six and three pound weights. Please consult Orlando for any materials needed for Meagan's classes because the satisfied customer base is definitely already there. Speaking of Orlando I wanted to express what a great job he is doing as GM. I have a birth injury to my left arm/shoulder which limits my mobility and strength significantly. While I was working out, Orlando noticed my disability, and asked me about it. Per his offer, I accepted a free personal training workout from Brett, who came recommended as a trauma recovery expert, and chose to continue having twice weekly workouts/therapy under Brett's supervision. My strength and added mobility is improving. In short, Gold's Gym/Bailey's is a terrific place to work out and I am proud to be a member.

If it was not for the personal trainer my wife uses, there is a strong possibility we would change to another gym. There are a decent number of machines, free weight stations, etc., but since the location opened (I think 2 years now?) I have not seen one new piece of equipment. Suggestions to management appear to go unnoticed. As for the free weights, they are often scattered amongst all of the machines or stations, and no one seems to ever clean them up. As for managers, I have not seen a single one last more than a month. That is if you can even find one. Currently I have been trying to convert my membership to Silver Sneakers. The front desk personnel say I need to speak with a manager. They also say that they have not seen the current manager for days. Maybe that is why there has been no toilet paper in the restrooms, the hand sanitizers by the front doors have been empty, and I can't make the transition. I did go to the main webpage for DC Gold's Gyms to use the Member Services link (as instructed by someone I spoke with and by the AI operator). What I loved was clicking on it and only getting a Cancel Membership screen. Not a great way to keep your members when the services is to ask for them to cancel. In addition, there is no other way to contact the main owners of these metro gyms on the web page. Are they tired of hearing from their members? Again, other than the lack of management, investment in keeping this gym interesting with new or changed equipment, the people that do work here are great, especially folks like Jay at the front desk and John the personal trainer (the best!). Hopefully this will get the attention of the owners.
