Still thoroughly enjoy working out but there is a definite shift in the staff, lack of customer service, and the lack of care in the facilities here. First off, staff rarely greet you either coming or going, especially the girls, but the boys are guilty too, & I have point blank looked them in the eye & said hi or bye only to get a side eye in response, lol, as if I am beneath them & don't bother. It is very rude at times. They also tend to all huddle at the front desk which leads to my next points. I am seeing more & more people not wiping down their sweaty equipment & a lot of people just leaving their paper towels on the gym floor & it sits there for the entire hour & a half I am there (& I'm sure even longer), & the bathroom counters are always full of water. I have also seen an uptick of people just hanging out on machines to use their phones or socialize & I'm not talking about the break you take between sets, I'm talking not even working out for over 20 minutes & just lounging on the machines. It seems to me if the staff made rounds they could easily curtail this behavior & reinforce all the signage hanging around the gym regarding these issues & asking people to follow these rules. I have found the gym to be cleaner at night & the staff is typically nicer too. They did just hire a new young guy with glasses who was refilling spray bottles but he was hanging out a lot with two older dudes that were working out & he seemed know them well & he also did not utter a word to anyone but them. So it seems his coworkers are leading by example & showing him the way even though he attempts to stay busy. The person that really needs to be commended is the guy with the long curly hair as he is always smiling, friendly & helpful. New Year's rolled around, and I came to realize that I wasn't getting enough exercise by running around Hyrule. I looked at the local gym options and figured PF would be my best choice because it was close, inexpensive, and didn't require a long-term commitment. Once I started going, I realized what a great choice I made. The gym space is immaculate. There are plenty of machines. They are organized efficiently and are well-maintained. And I've yet to encounter any delays, even during their peak hours. The staff has been super helpful! Jeff, the on-site trainer, is there to recommend machines and exercises when I've asked. With him, the PF app, and the Internet, I've developed workout sessions that, thanks to the number of redundant machines available, don't take me much time to complete. read more

One of the worst PF locations in the area, and Ive been to plenty in Northern Virginia. First, the gym itself is super small compared to other PF gyms, which leads to overcrowding. Because its so crowded, its difficult to grab an open machine. Last time I went, there was practically a wait line for the treadmills. Next, lack of paper towels.. this is disgusting and is a serious hygiene issue. Lastly, just terrible customer service, the training for the front staff is horrendous. Do yourself a favor, and dont go to this location. There are plenty of other planet fitness gyms in the area that are so much better. This Arlington Blvd location gives the entire brand a terrible look. read more

The facility, as a gym is excellent and fairly priced. BUT, while the workout areas are generally spotless, AND there are always paper towel dispensers and "spray cleaner" (not known if disinfectant quality) nearby on the workout floor, THERE IS NOT A SINGLE PAPER TOWEL DISPENSER IN THE MEN'S LOCKER ROOM. As you can see in this week's snapshot, ordinary use by members results in puddles of water all over the counters. DO YOU WANT TO PLACE ANY ITEM OF PERSONAL HYGIENE ON THIS SURFACE??? When reporting this obvious condition to ERICK, the manager of this FRANCHISE, he responded, "...there are air powered HAND DRYERS at the sink area..." Erick obviously did NOT understand the problem as depicted in the photo. So, now my request for paper towel dispenser (gotta be cheap), that would definitively solve the problem of standing water on the locker room sinks, has been dialed up to the corporate level. Seems franchisee management could have resolved the issue in less than 24 hours with installation of the same model towel dispenser that is mounted in many locations throughout the facility. The staff is okay. I've had interactions with some of them and they clearly don't know how to work their own computers/systems or just don't care. Machines work good. It's a busy location for sure. The parking lot is awful - trying to leave the parking lot and go left towards falls church is a nightmare and honestly very dangerous. Overall it's a fine gym. Haven't ran into to many machines being broken but it gets very busy. read more

I'm reading some of the reviews and I really don't understand how members don't see this as an amazing value. I don't need spin classes, so if that's your thing move on. I know that people sit on their phones while sitting on a machine I want to use, but I always figure something else out. I sometimes like to work on the machines in the yellow 30-minute section, and if anyone is doing multiple sets, some of the older hardcore rule-followers will ask to rotate in or try to kick someone off per the "rules." It's high comedy. It's a very busy location -- maybe some of the harsher reviews are just people trying to scare off new members, who knows? There are times I've wanted to see the "Lunk Alarm" go off -- I've seen folks grunting to the point it's hilarious. Does the "Lunk Alarm" even work? -- please let me press it!!! The staff are so nice, and they're always cleaning and greeting and helping out. Paper towels are a problem, yea it's a thing - but it's also so busy there (January 5, 2026, I'm looking at you). You need to have a sense of humor to go here and enjoy your community. I also hate the color purple -- why not just go blue? Blue is my favorite color -- that's the only thing I would change. I work out at the Seven Corners location regularly, and having visited plenty of other Planet Fitness gyms as a Black Card member, this one is by far the most entertaining. This is a decent spot. Planet Fitness is known for their low costs. The employees are friendly, but the equipment is basic. Remember you're saving money. I think they are good for regular folks, but if an extreme fitness buff, they come up short. Their stocks are doing quite well after the pandemic, and I do applaud their success. There is a decent amount of dumbbells here. They even have what I now call Ukrainian Kettle Bells. I really do like their treadmills. These are quite high tech, and there are a whole bunch of them. No pool is a major ugh for me, but not everyone needs or desires this. By all means go in, and see if they fit your fitness goals and plans. read more

The people at this gym are a nightmare: talking on their cell phones, sitting on machines like they are lounge chairs, or just plain disrespectful or mentally off. I have used all the Planet Fitness gyms in the area and this one is the only one that has this problem. The cost and the machines are the same at all PFs, so that is not an issue, but people here basically do as they please and the staff do not do anything. This is one PF to avoid if you can. I have been in this gym for over 2 years and everything went fine until one tiny conflict skyrocket everything. Red point are 2 and I can explain later: 1. I was trying to get the contact of the manager in a really polite way, and the lady, called Yorleny decided to call the police rather than the manager(why I know her name, look at 2), and I need to wait until the police arrive to leave. 2. The reason I would like to talk to the manger is because the lady want to cancel my memebership directly/intentionally without a proper reason(photo attached). She fake my signature and cancelled it and left her name on the employee side! What is happening at that night is I have 3 friend with me on a Saturday night(maybe only 30 mins left before the gym close). I know I can bring in one friend and the other 2 would not have membership. So the front lady told us in order for my other 2 friends to work out, we need to pay 5 dollars each. She claim they could walk around and take a look but cannot touch the machines. So my 2 friends come in to follow us around. For the entire time, my friends didn't ever even sit on any machines nor take of their jacket(it's winter and cctv can prove it). After 20 mins and we are planning to leave, the lady jump out and ask us to pay 10 dollars because they stay inside for more than 3 minutes(this was never brought up until we planning to leave). She also claim if they don't pay, she will cancel my membership. And because of this, I said I would like to talk to her manager. She refused and said they are closed and will call the police. From that point, she start make phone call in Spanish completely ignoring us for 15 minutes(I don't want to say this is racist but I think it is), I even get business card on the table trying to reach out to her boss, and funny thing is it jump back to the deskphone on the table. After the police arrived, we can finally leave and turns out my membership got cancelled. I am glad they have cancelled my membership immediately, but I think Yorleny really should be investigated. How would your employee fake customer's signature. I have no time filing a lawsuit for 10$$$. PS: Yorleny is not even brave enough to write down the cancelling reason. read more

Very rude employee. I waited 10 minutes in the front. Nobody came to help me. I went inside to look and the receptionist yelled at me for going inside. I said I waited 10 minutes and she said No you didn't. How would she know that unless she was staring at me the whole time and didn't help me? They don't have any equipment for legs or chest, they mostly have treadmills, bikes, and Ellipticals. The price is very reasonable but I told the Hispanic woman that if she apologized for yelling at me, I would join. She said No, so I said No. EDIT: I called corporate to file a complaint but he hung up on me in the middle of the call. Also, I didn't mention that the two Hispanic employees were talking to each other using the words Chino and Chinito. read more

To cancel your membership you have to do it in person. I moved away over an hour drive years ago and couldn't get it cancelled to save my life. I finally find myself in the area. Come to find out my card changed in the last week or so so now I owe $53 to cancel the membership. I see on the screen that I haven't checked-in to the gym in over 1010 days. Two associates there told me that the manager isn't available and that I have to wait till Monday or Wednesday to call/email to talk to him to SEE if I can get it covered to cancel the membership. After that period to wait I decided to pay to be done with it. I dont know what's worst about this business model. Having two kids work the front who can't make any decision without a manager that is here TWICE a week to cover a cost of a "member" that has been paying for over 3 years and can't cover barely two months of a membership. DON'T GO HERE. THEY DID NOT LET ME CANCEL MY ACCOUNT DESPITE ME ATTEMPTING TO FOR NEARLY 2 AND A HALF YEARS AND SCAMMED ME OUT OF $600. I tried cancelling several times, including once with a handwritten letter, as I work overseas now. I then came in person and after repeatedly telling them it wasn't right that they were making me pay all the months after I had already stated I wanted to cancel, they made me pay 270$ tot just be able to cancel the account. Then, when I tried to pay this initial 270, THEIR CREDIT CARD MACHINE CONVENIANTLY STOPPED WORKING. They then told me to email the regional manager eric with the credit card statement and he'd make it right, which I did and got no response. After several months passed I returned and was able to speak with Erick in person, and let me say he might have been the biggest scumbag I'd interacted with. After showing him the credit card statement he simply shrugged his shoulders and said he didn't care and the statement meant nothing to him. when we realized he didn't want to help us, we asked if we could speak to a superior, and he said there was nobody we could talk to. I asked if we could get some information documenting that'd we'd been there if we wanted to go to small claims court. He then said, this is exactly why we don't help 'you people', and I couldn't help but think he was referring to my black girlfriend. This has single handedly been the worst experience I've ever had at any place of business. Firstly the equipment is badly maintained and often sticky. Bathrooms are disgusting. Front desk staff are largely incompetent. Ironically, the most helpful person in my case was a random high schooler who was able to finally cancel my account after paying an exorbitant fee and seemed to understand our frustration with Erick. read more

I was told to get out by an employee because I asked him about the mask policy seeing as he enforced it on me yet he doesn't wear it properly (until I took my phone out); also there were a number of members who walked in and out of the gym with no mask on as well as working out with out one. After telling me to "you're in my face" He said "your membership is now canceled" (as if I was intending to stay a member after his hostile & disrespect treatment). I would not recommend this location. This one says it says it's 24 hours but it shuts down during peak hours for "maintenance" with the only warning being a flyer they put up a few hours beforehand. I've been here once to sign up. My Medicare insurance cover PF. I had a code but they deny that it worked. I am a senior and the way they were looking at me made me feel uncomfortable. It felt like they were lying. I came back a second time and it was the same thing. I moved here from Richmond, never felt like that there at PF. Generally like this gym, however they just recently started allowing teens in for free. So my workout takes longer now because groups of 5-6 kids swarm machines and sit on machines and mess with their phones. I don't think its fair to other paying members who have to allow more time to workout, because of all the kids. If I knew they were going to do this I would not have joined. read more

This gym needs new management or something. Off all the different planet fitnesses I've been to, this one lacks the most. I don't know if it's because there is so many people here throughout the day... they can't keep the gym tidy?! But every other machine is broken and not one machine glides nicely. This particular PF is quite unique from the couple of my home PFs in Maryland. This one gets a higher rating because: Pros: 1. Dumbbells over 60lbs. They have 65 and 70lb dumbbells here - something quite odd because almost all other locations have 60lbs as their heaviest. 2. 2 Free chest press benches. All other locations have only the machine bench set-up. 3. Separate, isolated room for the 30 minute express workout 4. Spacious area for abs exercises 5. Special stretching area Cons: 1. It is not 24/7. Only is from Monday to Friday 10pm. And then half day hours Saturday & Sunday. 2. Staff is often not at the counter. It seems the place is very lightly staffed. read more

It's a shame I couldn't give it more stars cause it's actually not a horrible gym at all but there's wayyyy too many people that go here. Almost every time you go past 5 o'clock, you will be waiting for a machine or elliptical. I went yesterday and actually every single thing was taken and there was a line for the ellipticals. If you go during the day, I totally recommend this gym, or if the crowd doesn't bother you. Other than the amount of people, the gym is very well maintained and the staff is very friendly. I've been to two other Planet Fitness locations before visiting this one. Initially, I had stopped by to look at this branch and was impressed by the size. But actually using it I noticed a few things that made me not want to return. Cardio was fine. I couldn't get any signal on my cell phone over in the 30 minute circuit area, and while that may be AT&T I moved to another area and had similar issues, which was not present in the other branches. I also noticed that the machines weren't the same as the other branches so my workout was off. Some machines were old and worked completely differently. Lastly, it was packed so I didn't really have the patience to wait for a machine, and they didn't have multiple machines of each type like the other branches. perhaps this can be addressed by a person with more patience or experience but for me it was a turn-off and I will just use the other branches. read more

We were helped tremendously by Fitz-Ann, who showed us how to put the app on our phone and create an account. One of the cleanest PF I have ever been to. It is a little hidden so I had a hard time finding it the first time. The parking lot is also a little tight but if you come at a good time, you'll have no problem finding a spot. All the machines were clean and working. The front desk employees were very nice and polite. The bathroom was a little stank and kind of outdated. Besides that, I really didn't have any issues with anything. I called TODAY about needing money refunded TODAY because I need Covid related treatment TODAY and the person that answered the phone TODAY said "that isn't a good enough reason to refund you". Do not make a membership here. I've been out of work due to Covid & I now have severe bronchitis from it. A friend gave me money to get my medication & 10 minutes later they took out the exact amount for this membership. I haven't been there in over a year and my membership is over a year old now. Why did they even continue it, I don't know. I've never seen that before. I have NO MONEY TO GET MEDICATION TO TRY TO SURVIVE THIS INFECTION NOW! The man on the phone said "that isn't a good enough reason". What qualifies as a good enough reason then?! The signs when you walk in say that wearing masks is mandatory, no exceptions, and will be enforced. HOWEVER I counted 12 people -twelve!- on the ellipticals who were maskless and many others throughout the gym who also were not wearing masks. When my companion pointed this out to the people at the front desk he was told that they know about the infractions but did not intend to enforce the mask rule. This is unethical, illegal, and just plain dumb. read more

It's been more than a year that Im coming to this PF. On the morning staff is nice, not a lot of people so many choices of machines. Tons of good machines, weights... price is good for that quality of equipments. My only problem is the lady's locker room. It is so nasty in there. Dust in every corner, hair, old shower... I don't even want to enter in this part of the locker room. Please try to improve that. I do not like to lay down next to the dust while doing my stretching. I was in the neighborhood and decided to check out this location as a black card member. No lie, this place is the worst of all planet fitness locations I've been to. First of all, it's located in the basement. Also, this is a strong foul BO odor throughout this location. Feels like I'm working out in a dungeon. It's so dull inside here. Not sure how locals can handle such a poor gym. Plus, it really does feel like it's highly populated with older folks. Nothing against the older crowds as they are great. This particular gym just feels like it's a better fit for the older generation. But the management here seems very cheap. It seems like the management at this location does not offer all the perks that other planet fitness locations provide. If I was management, I would do a deep cleaning of this area, smile to the customers and make the location more brighter. Definitely feels like a cave in here. read more

I was so happy when Planet Fitness announced this week in a massive media blast that all members would be required to wear a mask starting Aug. 1 -- except that's simply NOT TRUE. There's an asterisk footnote that exempts members "while exercising." That "footnote" completely negates the requirement to wear masks. Planet Fitness -- did you think we would not notice that your new mask policy IS A TOTAL FARCE? To be clear -- PF members are not wearing masks, and are breathing heavily on other members. So if you want to work out in a poorly ventilated cesspool of contagious people breathing heavily on you WITH NO MASKS REQUIRED -- then Planet Fitness is for you. read more

As someone who mostly utilizes the basics for working out (treadmill, machines, etc.), this is a great gym, especially for the price. This gym's equipment, for the most part, is quality and functional; maybe 1-2 weird treadmills and a squeaky pulldown machine, but nothing too bad, with most things getting fixed right away. I think they've also been adding new equipment lately, which shows investment in the gym--appreciated! The staff are all friendly and the facilities are always clean; locker rooms are spacious and the bathroom is fine. My main gripe is with the showers. The showers are connected to the toilets, so every flush makes the water FREEZING or scalding hot. It's basically a game of duck out of the way every time I shower there, which is most days a week (I exercise before work). At least one of the three hooks beside the showers for hanging clothes/towels are also broken, and I guess the drainage isn't the greatest as the floors outside the showers have standing water post-shower. (I've also seen some PFs that have a separate private changing area that you pass through for each individual shower, which would be really nice if they ever reno; I see most girls head to the handicapped bathroom to change afterward, so I think it would be really appreciated.) TL;DR--great gym for the price; owners, please consider making the showers a more pleasant experience for guests. read more

Gym itself is fine but the staff clearly are not cut out for customer service. My fiancé is a Black Card Member and at his regular location they allow guests to use the hydro massage chair. We were in the area, so we went in and he asked the woman at the front to activate it for me. She told him guests couldn't use it so he then came back to me explaining that. She followed him and peeked in the room to make sure I left, and as I was grabbing my purse she came back again, literally chasing me out and telling me to sit in the armchairs nearby. I told her, "Don't worry, I'm leaving, no need to keep checking on me." To which she responded, "I'm just following the rules," and shook her head at me. She also kept watching me through the window to make sure I didn't go back into the massage area. I'm not sure why the "rules" vary from location to location but I really do not appreciate the way we were treated and monitored. It's not that serious and it's not like we were committing a crime but the staff member really acted like we were doing something egregious. I literally felt like I was under surveillance the minutes I remained waiting for my fiancé. This location needs to do better in training the staff on basic respect. read more

Hire some more people and have higher standards. When I went there was one woman working the entire gym and she was on her phone the entire time. Not my favorite location. (For the record my favorite location to date is the Huntington location right by Wilson Bridge...) It feels like you're working out in a dark basement. Low ceiling, the weight section is infested with "bros" The parking is hit or miss... Now that I've been a member for a few months I feel like I can accurately write a review. Reading some of PF's negative reviews elicits an automatic eye roll from me. Seriously? People are complaining about the tiniest things like having to bring your own lock and the water not being filtered. Dude, you're paying $10 or $20 dollars a month for a gym...do you think this is the Ritz? I'm actually amazed that they are able to charge so little and still keep the gym in such good shape. While I've noticed a few minor maintenance problems over the months, for the most part everything has been working, the staff are friendly but not intrusive, and everything is very clean and sanitary. I feel like this is an excellent gym for the price and so long as you go in without the same expectations you may have for an $80 per month gym you'll be satisfied. The main downside for me personally is that since I'm only paying $10 per month I feel justified in only going to the gym once a week. I bet that's why they can get away with charging so little...all the people who sign up and then don't go because, "who cares, it's only $10 per month." #firstworldproblems Don't let the negative reviews scare you away. If you're looking for a place to do cardio and weights without spending a fortune this is a great option. read more
