I've taken numerous classes at Cyclebar and each was a great experience. Jill is my favorite instructor, she's great at keeping you motivated all the way through the end. The classes seem to fly by because I'm having so much fun. Fun, upbeat music and you can find their playlists on Spotify. I'd say the classes are doable for a range of abilities from beginner to advanced because you can go at your own pace. After class you receive an email with your class stats, how many cals burned, etc. The facilities are super clean and very accommodating. They provide shoes, water, lockers and bananas . I've done spinning classes before but nothing as fun and approachable as Cyclebar. I attended the free intro class and highly recommend for anyone looking to check out first. The ladies that working were welcoming and helpful - showed me how to check in, grab shoes and get my bike set up. Of course the music was perfect for getting pumped! And I loved how helpful Kelsey was with the screens and encouraging about pushing yourself but doing your own thing. Also, maybe just me, but I love how dark it is. It feels more private and sets a great vibe. Hope it never changes as I bought more sessions and plan to keep coming in. Can't wait! read more

CYCLEBAR - Cycling Classes Near Me - Scottsdale, Arizona

This place is terrible. I come from SF and am very into soul cycle, which they ATTEMPT to copy. The music is awful and the instructors repeat the same sentiments each class. I came to a class at 9:33 and the gal told me it would be "disruptive" to enter three min late. As we all know, the hardest part of working out is getting there. She should have let me in the class, I canceled my membership. Also their bikes are creaky and terrible, nearly the entire class has to be clipped in by the instructor. I'm a biker and clipping in shouldn't be that hard. Also the instructors push their social media pages and talk about themselves. Terrible experience and they don't come close to the image they portray as a business. They have one rack of clothes and it's just one piece of each clothing bc theyr clearing broke. Again, not wise when you receive a new member and this happens. It's not even a hard work out and most of the time the instructors forget the music beats and miss it out entirely. Waste of money, time, and and purely unprofessional young Teeny boppers that don't grasp the value of a longevity client. read more

I hate to give this place one star, as I had a blast in spin classes there. Super instructors, very clean, and great class space. BUT forget about getting a return email for customer service in a timely manner, and fat chance getting any erroneous charges refunded. There's no phone number to reach anyone, and you'll get lip service instead of resolutions. This is outrageous, and I really wish their customer service was up to par with what you'd expect from such a high end studio. They got a new manager and all of a sudden all of my favorite Front Desk employees disappeared. The new manager is kind of a weasel when it comes to sales. If it weren't for the old staff looking out for me, I would have been roped into paying $50 extra a month. New manager INTENTIONALLY did not inform members that prices lowered. He only honored new prices when severely pushed and cornered. Overall just shady business. I was sad to see the old staff go but honestly, I am right there with them. CycleBar is such a fun, niche community to become a part of! They offer a variety of memberships and almost always have some sort of deal going on. Classes are always different, with so many strong instructors who really make each class their own, so I'm never bored! I do think cycling is something you have to try several times before you determine if it's for you or not -- so if you're first class was hard/confusing, I strongly encourage you to try out a few more. The studio is clean, the instructors have great energy, the front desk staff are super helpful, and the other cyclers are generally a nice group of people. read more

My review is mostly related to customer service, which is virtually nonexistent. I emailed cyclebar on 9/23/19 to inquire about putting my membership on freeze due to injury (was hoping to address prior to 10/1 so I wouldn't get charged or might be charged a reduced "freeze" rate); I've had bad tailbone pain and my doctor specifically recommended taking 2+ months off cycling as it tends to cause or exacerbate that injury (I indicated I could provide doctor's note/record). No response. Followed up on 9/26. No response. I sent an instagram message since they seem active on this on 9/27. Manager Kelli responded and asked to forward the email to her email. I did this right away. She responded 2 days later on instagram and said she'd get back to me first thing tomorrow. By mid-day the 30th, I was like, whatever- I'll just cancel the membership so I don't keep getting charged and rejoin later if I want to, so I said that in follow-up email. She responded the next day, said she'd refunded my upcoming month (that never went through/happened) and would freeze my membership for 2 months. I then got an automated message freezing for 3 months. I responded to clarify if the freeze was 2 or 3 months and she said she'd look into it; either was fine with me, I just needed to know. No response... I followed up on 10/14. No response. Again on 10/17. No response. Called on 10/21 to just cancel because again, tired of this bs, and a nice woman on the phone said she'd cancel my membership and I'd get an email. I didn't get an email... this morning, tried the instagram approach again and Kelli responded (expediently this time) that I should've gotten the cancellation email. Well, I didn't (obviously, or I wouldn't be asking for it). I'm pretty annoyed that I was told October would be refunded and it was not (including after I pointed that out) and I felt they were minimally responsive and unapologetic about this crummy customer service. It shouldn't take a month (and a combo of multiple attempts via email, phone, instagram) to address a month-to-month membership. I've been to 90 classes in the past year at Cyclebar and I did enjoy them for the most part. Sadly, my favorite instructors (Katie M. and Kristina) both left and I was less excited by the other instructors. However, I intended to resume cycling after recovering from my injury. But this experience has left a really bad taste in my mouth. I feel like the studio cares more about their instagram presence than their actual members. I've since tried OTF where I've had great customer service and helpful feedback from coaches (which actually helps prevent further injury!). read more

This studio is my new favorite studio in AZ!! Katie is a wonderful instructor and I cannot wait to take another class with her! She is super positive and engaging, she really challenges you to give it your all, and switches things up really well (so you're never lost and always know what's to come). Factors that puts this studio at the top of my list: 1. They send you your biking stats and the playlist after your ride, including the amount of calories you burned, how many miles, etc. 2. During the class, two TVs project your stats and collective class stats to motivate you. It really makes a difference! Katie had us work as a class to keep our RPM over a certain number and it was a really fun way to push through. 3. Music videos during class! Towards the end, when everyone is slowing down, the music video helped give me more energy and distracted me from the burning in my legs. Love it! 4. With class purchase, you get shoes for rent, a locker, a water bottle, fruit, etc. You really do get what you paid for and more! I love the extra goodies. 5. The music is great! And like I said before, they email you the spotify playlist after. Along with the music, colored lights go on and off to the music, and fake candles light the room when the lights are off. 6. Great deals! Right now they have a Groupon but they also have many other deals going on. I usually go to the Madison Tempe, which is a little less than this studio. However, this studio is a step above the Madison in amenities and overall class quality. 7. We did arm exercises with a weighted pool about half way through. This was a great arm workout and timed perfectly with the ride. 8. THE BIKES. Omg, the bikes are amazing. They have stats displayed on the bike and such a smooth ride. These bikes are LEGIT. 9. The stadium seating makes it easy to see the instructor and follow whats going on. 10. You wipe down your bike after your ride! This place is clean and the bike is not sticky! yuckkkk 11. The staff is super helpful and helped me get set up on my bike. Others have commented that it was hard to get a hold of the studio via phone or to find the place. I had no problem finding the place. Parking is a little packed but it is expected, given that it is in a shopping/restaurant center. While the phone isn't set up yet (or at least I think this is because it is a new location), they are SUPER prompt on email. Seriously, give this place a try! I am from out of town and wanted to do a quick workout this morning. Back home I go to spin twice a week for the last two years. Being a first time rider at CycleBar I was expecting to get some guidance on checking in etc. when I came in no one was at the front desk and I waited around for a couple minutes and no one showed up so I had to ask another rider how to check in. I saw a cubicle of shoes but I didn't know if I was suppose to get my shoes from there so again I had to ask another rider. The bikes there are different than the ones we use at my spin studio and I had no assistance with how to use the screen or what we should be looking forward regarding rpm etc. the rider next to me had to show me mid class how to turn on the screen as she saw my struggling in the dark to see what "power" button to use. thankfully I had a general idea of what the hell to do but for someone who would be a first time rider this would be a horrible first impression. Class was fun and had good music just really need to work on customer service and assisting new clients. read more

Work smarter, not harder, and have fun while doing so! Since early May, the question most close friends ask me is "what place did you get in class today?" Though I highly recommend *this* location of Cycle Bar, many of my Chandler friends came to the CycleBar Raintree Ranch after hearing me go on and on and on and on about how amazing CycleBar McCormick Ranch is! I even convinced a non-cycling friend to come, and he ended up buying a package and getting hooked! As a former group exercise instructor and someone with a couple advanced degrees in exercise science, I am impressed! Also, I went during the free class week not expecting to buy a package. I go to spin at other gyms and at One Body One Mind. But, I was hooked! Also, I live ~20-25 minutes away, but I still bought a package and convinced other friends to do the same. Music: Usually top notch! Of course, each instructor brings her/his (mostly hers) tastes and style to the class. The playlists are *sometimes* (not always) available on Spotify post class. There are theme-based classes in which instructors created specific playlists for a theme. For example themes include: Mash Up Monday, Throwback Thursday, and holiday themes (for example, fourth of July). In general, a classic or performance class will have fun, upbeat music. Some instructors show videos during the class. Instructors: Most everyone has been super welcoming and introduces themselves (not all). Based on classes I have taken, the instructors seem experienced. I especially enjoy Holly Miller's, Katie M's, and Carly's classes - but have been to others who I like too. Those are just the ones in which I have been to the most. Holly is a true coach, motivating and funny throughout. She is not just getting a workout; instead, she is coaching, explaining stats boards, motivating the class, providing very specific instructions on one's RPM and wattage (power), etc. Class: The classes are short - 50 minutes. That is usually about 45 mins ride time, plus five minutes cool down. The instructor usually (not always) explains the stats board. The stats board is a fun way to see how one is doing during the class. A person can choose not to have his/her name on the board. I usually do not, as it is distracting to me. However, the stats are emailed to participants post class. I LOVE love love the stats! The instructor provides instructions on approximate RPM plus the gear. I usually ride heavy, and I'll have a slightly higher gear than recommended, as it's a preference of mine. There are also suggestions on power. There is one 3-4 minute song in which participants pick up the weighted bar on the bike to complete some arms' exercises. I usually do not do this. I just don't like trying to lift while cycling because I am not that coordinated. One can view all of these data on the small computers on each bike. I love this - it keeps me on track. The stats sent after class are a collection of one's performance during class - average RPM, highest RPM, average power / highest power, approximate kcal burned during class, and the most fun - one's rank in class! I like to try to get #1 but at least in the top five if possible. There is a beginner's class on Saturdays. That said, I have brought friends who never went to spin before. He had a blast and would go back! He did need some additional guidance from me, but did great overall and loved the motivation. Service: Friendly and not over-bearing, though it would be nice if employees introduce themselves more often. I have gotten to know staff members there, and everyone's nice. Once, the computers on the bikes did not work. The owner/operating manager refunded every person in that class for that one class. Great customer service - if I email the owner or store manager, they respond in a quick-like manner. Parking: This location is in a strip mall area in Seville / McCormick Ranch. It's near Wildflower, a cupcake place, Sole Sports, etc. Parking can get crowded later in the day and on weekends, but one can always find a spot. Amenities: What are the things we usually forget for the gym? For me, it's not enough hair ties, lip balm, and sometimes a water bottle. Don't you worry, this studio has it all. There are little jars of these items in the front: hair ties, lip balm, ear plugs, and breath mints. In the locker room area, there are free plastic water bottles plus chilled filtered water. The bathroom / showers includes two bathroom stalls, plus three shower stalls. There are big towels available, and each shower stall has shampoo, conditioner, and body wash. Some basics are there as well, including Q-tips, tampons, kleenex, razors, spray deodorant, and lotion. The locker room also has a bowl of bananas for a pre or post workout snack, and little lemon towels to wipe your sweat off! Gear: The studio also sells items such as tank tops, baseball caps, socks, jackets, capris, etc. read more

Cycle bar is the ultimate cycle studio! I love coming here and being greeted by the front desk staff who helps me at checkin, getting shoes, and adjusted and clipped into my bike. Every teacher here is exceptional! You have the option to take an array of classes from performance road cycling to HIIT ride to the music. I like the fact that you reserve your bike # in advance too so that way you're not racing to get a certain seat when you arrive to the studio. The fresh fruit, free water bottles & free shoe rentals are all just an added plus to the overall great workout you get riding here! read more

I came here as part of an Elite invite right before their grand opening ... Never having done a spin class prior, I had no idea what to expect, but I sure did sweat! They offered a few more free classes the first week or so they were open, so I came back a few times... And now I've bought a package. I've completed 8 or so visits, I can honestly say I'm pretty into it! CycleBar keeps it nice and chilly in the studio, which is great because you work up a good sweat between 10-12 minutes into the 50 minute routine. Some of the instructors play videos, but they all have great playlists to get you through warm ups, "climbing" hills, and sprinting on the bikes. I have enjoyed classes with Kelsey, Jillian, Patty... Holly will motivate you, Katie M is so encouraging and brings out your inner strength, and Jared can get you through a happy hour sweat session burning mass calories. They all remind you to keep good form, do your best, and motivate you through a tough workout. I like that you can choose to compete in rankings with your classmates too. Its fun to see how you're stacking up and keeps me honest with myself for putting in the effort. CycleBar also provides a towel at each bike, a weighted bar that you use for an arm workout about 30 mins in, water bottles for filling with their filtered water, and usually there's some fresh fruit for a carb fix after your spin-sesh. They give you special spin shoes upon check in, and there are lockers free to use for your things during class. Just bring yourself and your desire for spin. I'm currently in the middle of their 10-10-10 challenge, where you buy 10 classes and complete them in a short time-frame (less than 3 weeks) and you get 10 free! My favorite workout. I drive 25-35 minutes depending on traffic to go to this location multiple times a week when I can. I do have a location closer to me but I drive here for the instructors - they're all great, and as so many people have already said, Holly is especially awesome. Amazing energy, they somehow make it enjoyable to get your ass kicked. A little disappointed to see any negative reviews on here - I know no place is perfect but I haven't had any issues making contact with them when I need something. It's not instant, but typically I get a response same day when I email. As for people being bothered by language - it's not for everybody but it's as simple as don't go to that instructor if you don't like their language. There's others. I personally and I think the majority of people that come here don't mind it and actually enjoy it. They're putting personality and passion into these classes. They're high energy, inspirational and so much fun. I hope they never change a thing. read more

Top notch spin studio. I'm 6'5 so its hard for me to find a studio that fitz my build. At cyclebar they have some of the beat bikes and the extend so I can actually fit and get a good workout, something I've looked for at other studios and not found. I've only talen Jill's here but taken classes at quite a bit of other studios and she's the beat instructor i've had. She's very instructional so if you're new it's easy to follow along and you'll know if your getting the workout that uou supposed to as she is descriptive where you should be feeling it while stressing the importance of form.
