The showers should be cleaner , the walls and floors need a good clean. Why are the shower drains always filled with hair. I'm always drain cleaning as the other nasty lazy female can't bend to clean their hair out. So someone else cleans up after some lazy bitc&. The manager is very rude and cold. If you go, go during the later hours. The staff is much more friendlier. The set up of the equipment is honestly inconvenient. And they don't have a lot of equipment. So you will have to wait if you want the machine of your choice. read more

This is the nastiest gym I have ever paid to go to this entire facility really gives LA fitness a bad look in one day. I found shit in the shower. The pool was so foggy that it was a health and safety risk. I couldn't see more than 2 feet in front of me, and when I approach the manager with the complaint, which didn't even come in the form of a complaint, I was just talking to him. He brushed me off, didn't even say anything and waved his hand at me. My experience going to the gym at this location has been totally normal and staff at the front desk are always polite. However, when we decided to cancel the lady who does the cancellation was incredibly rude and made it as difficult as possible to cancel. My only advice is to stay firm on your decision. They do have the ability to cancel on the spot, but will give you the run around and say they'll send you an email and have you send something via mail (which is so completely unnecessary and shady to do to people) Anyways be wary before signing up here because I understand gyms don't make it easy for you to cancel, but for the person to be that rude is not necessary and completely unprofessional. read more

Where to start... I've been going to this gym for a while now and am finally quitting because I've had my last straw with this place. The gym etiquette is horrific. NO ONE wipes down the machines. NO ONE (except MAYBE a few) rerack their weights. As a young female who has been a personal trainer and has been to many many different gyms, I have never felt so disgusted, annoyed, and unsafe by the entire male clientele. Honestly, the environment itself and people here are very unfriendly and rude. I love working out but always feel as though I am trying to rush my workout to get the hell out of this place and avoid all the creeps everytime I come to this gym. It's a decent facility. Some stuff is placed funny but my biggest issue is the steam room and sauna are unisex. Both are usually occupied by men wearing nothing but a towel. I was going to give it 3 starts as this place can meet your needs if you just want to be active, but once I saw those pics I realized how crappy this location is and I decided to go for well deserved 2 stars. This location does not have a pool, I repeat, ***this location does not have a pool*** ***Pros *They have cardio machines, classes, weights, sauna (unisex), steam (unisex), etc. If you just want to be active and mind your own business (like I do), this place fits the bill. *I have never been bugged by sales people or pushed to get a trainer. *They have plenty of parking, and this location is not as busy so parking is not a problem. ***Cons *This location is outdated and looks very low budget *The ladies showers are old and not in good working condition. *They had extended hours when they just switched to LA Fitness, but sadly now they also close at 8pm on weekends. *They do not provide towels, and some people do not clean up after themselves. Esporta, on Dobson and Warner, has THE worse customer service female. she works Saturday morning (opening the gym): 1. continuously late, 15-20 minutes opening the gym in the morning. 2. You see crowd waiting for continously outside. 3. Several customers just drive away 4. when asked about her behavior she gets mouthy, states her boss "Bill" let's her be late. She uses a foul attitude, demeanor and verbiage against customers. SHE SHOULD BE FIRED! She often very late. DO NOT go there. You pay your money for a front person to be very disrespectful. 5536 W Bell Road location Pros ...The cleaning crew does a great job. Cons... The parking area is a mess...un-trimmed bushes...the asphalt is full of holes. Broken glass is often seen in the parking lot from vehicle windows. Lockers have been broken into many times. Lockers are not monitored, and locks are left on for extended periods. Members leave duffle bags and backpacks in workout areas.....saftey issue Members blasting boom boxes. Today I was working out and two guys started throwing blows at each other. I have been a member for many years... I have concerns everyday about the safety of my vehicle...I quit using the lockers because I continued to hear about break-ins. They just gave this club a MAJOR facelift (and all the swolemates can appreciate a little heavy lifting ), but in particular, I wanted to review the new HIIT classes and studio. This is a direct imitation of Orange Theory Fitness, but for less time per session (45 minutes), and at a lower cost. Members pay a small additional fee to their membership, by also enjoy the benefits of a free heart rate monitor strap; this device is generally part of enrollment at OTF or costs roughly $85 to replace or $5 per rental. They have similar state-of-the-art equipment- except that OTF's rowers are far better because you are actually pulling water in the machine (but who likes rowing, anyhow?!). My sister is a Zumba instructor at this club, so I was able to enjoy free daycare and a free class with her, and upon finishing, we joined the next session, which was being broadcasted on the news as a "new workout" to slay the post-Thanksgiving calories. Watch for hidden fees when you sign up. They don't honor adding members to existing memberships at the same rate. They can't seem to hire personal trainers, so if you have any hope of having even 1 session with a personal trainer, much less a regular session with them, good luck. Customer service doesn't care about any of these issues, just that you know that you are going to pay what you signed up for come hell or high water, whether they have the services you are looking for, pools closed, equipment down, etc. read more

I've been a member of LA Fitness/24 Hour Fitness for 10+ years (some locations, including this one, used to be 24 Hour Fitness), and can honestly say this gym has now become my new home. My home gym used to be the Scottsdale/Thunderbird location, but it recently (last week!) closed down, so I was scrambling the past few months to find a replacement. I had been to this gym before off and on, but it never quite felt like home until I recently had the pleasure of working out with one of its trainers, Tyler. Tyler is a fantastic personal trainer. First off, his presence is welcoming, yet confident -- but not arrogant. Importantly, he listened to me when I told him my left shoulder had some issues from using improper form and having a bad diary-fueled diet in the past, so he immediately showed me some "pre-game" shoulder workouts I now implement in all of my lift days. While he showed me some of the core workouts for back, chest, and arms, along with proper form so I don't mess up my shoulder, he also showed me some simple workouts I can use in between those workouts or in addition to them to get just a little more out of my routine. Also, Tyler showed me how to properly foam roll out, used an intense yet relaxing and loosing massage tool on my back and shoulders, and explained how I can end my routine by doing simple, low-weight shoulder exercises to keep my shoulders in check. If you want someone who is patient, understanding, intelligent, and will simultaneously push you to do more than you mentally think possible, look no further than Tyler. He's an A+ personal trainer and has really changed my life and made me more confident when I lift. My ego is checked at the door, but confidence and a sense of purpose remain. As a side note, I love to golf, so Tyler tailored a lot of my workouts to build strength and flexibility so I can crush that little white ball -- and crush it I have! My golf game has never been better since Tyler showed me the way. But the real kicker is that my shoulder pain is completely gone, so I have the confidence and piece of mind that when I lift, I won't do more damage to my shoulder thanks to the techniques learned through my time with Tyler. The club is nice overall but it really bothers me that they allow people to cause harm to themselves!! Everyday I see someone trying to exercise while blocking their oxygen flow. This is dangerous! Furthermore, as they block oxygen, they breathe in bacteria and other contaminants. This compromises the immune system and can cause dental issues! Yet no so-called "fitness professional" tells these people to remove the mask that is doing them harm. read more

Every day since July, they try to charge my credit card. Numerous phone calls, mailed in their b.s. piece of snail mail, and they are still trying to charge me every single day. Personal training is a waste of time. They can't keep employees and the trainers don't know what they're doing. I was constantly rescheduled and then my trainer ended up quitting. There are few trainers left and none of them work for my schedule. Masks aren't enforced here either and there is not enough equipment. It was so thorough and provided me with every bit of information I could've wanted. Truthfully the price was a little high but STACY showed me a logical breakdown of what is included. I signed up and today was my first day working out after taking about 13 months off. The atmosphere is great it's clean and friendly. Before COVID hit this location was supposed to be open 24 hours but since reopening, the earliest open is 5:00am. They say it's to make sure to have more hours to clean but there are tons of weights/equipment all over the place from the day before that the night crew did not rack. If they do not open earlier, or give an update to members about earlier hours, I will be cancelling my membership. read more

Totally your basic gym - don't come in here for "class" just to work your a$$.. Mix of free weights, older machines and cardio equipment. It's like walking into a warehouse - a huge box with huge vaulted ceilings and mirrors surrounding the entire area - so you can pretty much watch yourself pump along any wall. The pluses - bose sound systems hanging above head throughout (classic rock seems to be the prime). Direct TV on 13 flat screens visible only from the cardiovascular equipment - they have NFL Sunday ticket (this is really rare) and you get to personally grab the remote freely from the front desk and pick what you want from your eliptical/treadmill/stairclimber! So football season I'm here for 3 hour cardiovascular sessions. No other gym I know of in town gives you this remote control CONTROL. Also, this is the only gym I belong to/aware of that still has coed jacuzzi, sauna and steam room =) it has windows facing the interior of the gym so no hanky Panky in the jacuzzi (though a couple could steam up the steam room or raise the temperature in the sauna). Locker rooms are communal - i.e. high school style shared hand washing and showers (they do have pull curtains). For the serious lifters they have dumbells up 125lbls. Cement floors. Padded lifting floors. They have a small room for classes and a kids club. Starbucks and Jimmy Johns in the parking lot. Fry's grocery and Harkins Theatre across the street. It's got some unique pluses for being a basic box gym. Proximity will probably be your decision factor. The front desk guy I run into is a cool cat. I just go here for the Sunday cardio and NFL ticket. You have everything here you need to get a good workout in. It's never busy when I'm here... then most gyms aren't on Sundays. read more
