My husband and I were shopping for weeks researching electric bikes on I whim out shopping we stopped in this shop and met Phillipe. I have to say he was the reason we bought the bikes. Great service, he got the style I wanted within 45 min and we love these bikes. I'm overweight and was afraid of being too heavy, he put our fears to rest, and the Aero Electric bikes are awesome. Foldable for our RV traveling and sturdy for our use. We have 12 miles on them already, we barely use the electric but it's there for the hills. I've only been here once to try and get a spoke replaced. Was told it would cost $25 to do this. Don't know if this is a normal rate but have had it done elsewhere for less than $10 bucks, a lot less. Well I turned them down and bought the tool I needed and some extra spokes instead. They were extremely helpful and polite setting me up with what was needed. This is a very small local bike shop with limited stock. They are conveniently located across from Markham park and were willing to get the work done immediately. I like to support small business and will try them again. Hopefully the sticker shock won't be as bad next time. read more

I bought a Marin, full suspension bike from CTC. I'm very happy with my decision. Not only did I save a decent amount of money on a superior bike but Felipe's advise and customer service were valuable in making a decision. I had been riding an older Santa Cruz, with smaller wheels and wheelbase and was afraid that the larger Marin would be less maneuverable -- that it would take me a long time to get use to it. I couldn't have been more wrong. This Marin 29" bike rides like a 26", turns on a dime, and the gearing is just perfect. My Mt. biking has definitely improved in a short period of time. First of all I know that cycle stores are very busy right now, but my experience was not very good despite that. Took my bike in for a routine maintenance check and the replacement of the crank bearing. Was told it'd be ready Friday , I called was was told it was ready and I could pick it up on Saturday morning. Saturday morning I was there when they opened. Work on my bike not started! Could I wait until 11 when it would be ready? Sure. Well come 11 it was still not ready and I was told it was out back being washed! They then brought the bike into the shop and started work on it!! Oh well, stuff happens As I was leaving the store with my bike I applied the brakes and the rear one did nothing! Someone quickly came and adjusted the brake! Riding home the rear brake was rubbing and squeaking and I could not get the bike into the highest gear! Also there was a creaking sound when peddling! So go in for service, brakes don't work and gears need adjusting - after the service. They said to bring it in and they will fix it. No way! If they can't get it right the first time why should I trust them a second. I put the bike on a stand in my garage and found the issue with the rear brake. The left retaining nut on the rear wheel axel was only finger tight and the wheel was crooked! Was it loose when I took it in? I don't know, but it seems like a standard thing in a service to check the important nuts and bolts for tightness. I tightened if and the brake works fine now. I adjusted the derailleur and all gears now available. Oh yes the creaking sound was from a dry chain and the off center rear wheel. Lubricated the chain - fixed. Not sure what I actually got for the $90 I paid for a service. In future I'll spend the time, and save the money and do my own service. They will not see me as a customer again. read more

These guys are the place to go in town for any repairs. They helped me identify where the source of my annoying knocking sound was coming from. They were able to do this as part of their tune up job where they also trued my wheels and adjusted my derailleur. Had my bike riding better than new. I will be coming back! read more

I bought a used bike somewhere, and it was in rough condition. I spent $150 at Cycling Tech Center, and now it's like a brand new bike. They put new pedals, new rear tire and tube, rust is all cleaned up, gears all work great, and instead of replacing the chain they just did some work on the old chain. I don't feel nickel and dimed. They went above and beyond with their efforts. The bike was ready on the promised date. Also when I went in, I didn't have a mask, only my shirt pulled over my face. He politely offered me a mask. Excellent experience. I won't go anywhere else. I should have taken a before picture so I could show the difference in my bike after being at Cycling Tech Center, but trust me, it is incredible. I originally brought my mountain bike to this shop because of the positive reviews I read and its proximity to Markham park. Now I wonder if any of those reviews were real. The only people I dealt with at this shop are liars and thieves. The cassette on the rear tire was spinning freely forward and backward. I dropped off the bike on Tuesday and told them to call me with the analysis. I didn't hear from them so I called them on Thursday. The "tech" told me that a couple of the "teeth" inside the cassette were "worn" out, so they couldn't replace it with a $35 rear wheel kit--instead, I would need to buy a new tire complete with gears and all for about $85. But they wouldn't be able to get to it until the following Wednesday since they get shipments from their warehouse on Fridays and Wednesdays. When I said that today is Thursday so you should be able to get them to put it on the truck before Friday, they replied that the truck was already stocked and they couldn't get the tire on it. So I'd have to wait until Wednesday. The next morning (Friday), I called the shop from where I bought the bike (20+ years ago). They told me to bring it in and would get it done by Monday. So I called Cycling Tech Center and told them I'd be picking up the bike. When I got there, miracle of miracles, the "worn teeth" were no longer worn and I wouldn't need a new tire; instead, the problem was due to a buildup of "gunk" inside the mechanism. The "tech" then tried to explain that he rechecked the gears (for no apparent reason--apparently between the time I called and arrived) and found the real problem. After the plethora of lies, he then charged me $25 for the "service". Exactly what "service" did they do for $25? All he did was look at it and probably spin the wheels (which apparently indicated "worn teeth". He said he did not disassemble any of the mechanisms.) If this was the last remaining shop in the United States, I would fly to another country for bike repairs rather than deal with this unethical group of liars and thieves. read more

I went in to this shop today to get a part for my son's bike. They did not have it but the man that assisted me was very helpful and explained what I needed and what he had. He also suggested another business that might have what I needed. He went as far as to give me directions to the other business, orienting me with neighboring businesses. He really didn't have to do that. But he was nice enough and wanted to help me. I really appreciated it! Before entering this shop, I had gone to another shop that is very visible from the street and is actually across the street from Cycling Tech Center. The staff at the other place were rude and dismissive. I was annoyed but my mood quickly changed when the man at the counter greeted me and said he will be right with me (he was on the phone at that moment). I did not buy anything today but Cycling Tech will definitely have my future business and I will recommend them. read more
