I rented a bike and returned it in under an hour because my buddy's personal bike broke and the group ride was over. The rental bike itself was fine and returned early. I asked for any consideration at all -- partial refund or even store credit for unused time. They didn't care. The manager wouldn't engage in the conversation or even make eye contact. Warning to others: if your ride ends early for any reason, don't expect flexibility or customer service. Once they have your money, that's the end of the relationship. Bike rentals are one thing. Wow can't believe I am reading so many positive comments. I had the weirdest experience today. I walked in, wasn't greeted by any of the 3 employees they simply ignored my presence like if I was a ghost. They seemed busy with their work but still.... Really? Inside the bike shop is Watts & Coffee, which is an elegant coffee shop slinging specialty coffees and muffins. I stopped at this bicycle shop, looking for some things for my Saturday ride, and it surprised me that they were stocked with pretty much everything you would need and then some. The guys were great and the prices were real good. Definitely a bike shop to come back to. read more

Came in for a tune up on a Saturday to mainly true my wheels and to rebuild wheel hubs, the person who received my bike was helpful and considerate and showed me at the spot that the hubs needed to be checked and possibly rebuilt, but when I picked my bike up the following Wednesday, came to see my bike hastily built as the wheels still were not trued, fork top stack assembled in the wrong order, and worst of all the front hub not sealed all the way as it is jutting out of the hub, came back in to show the person who I picked up the bike from, which then he brought a mechanic who told me it's like that and it doesn't touch the forks so it is good, which it isn't. read more

One star is for the worst of the worst and that's not the case with Alex's Bike shop, but customer service is sketchy and hit n miss. I wanted to support a local business so I took two bikes there for tune ups. The hybrid came out needing two additional repairs after they had signed off on it being fixed. The Trek Domane had shifting problems in the lower gears which they never could fix. A Trek authorized dealer diagnosed the issue as a bent hanger and fixed it for half the price as the Alex attempt. In my opinion, I find it hard to believe they give the bike a post-repair road test before they send it out the door. Alex probably does okay with many bikes but for more skilled repairs or better service I will be going somewhere else. read more

Went into Alex bikes today to get help with a cruiser seat , I called around to other bike shops and some wanted $15 , I called Alex bikes , and they said it would be about $5-$10 bucks . Not only did they fix my seat as soon as I walked in, no waiting , even though the store had a ton of customers ! WOW And they have a coffee shop inside the store. When they were done with the seat, I asked how much . And they said no charge ! I was like what?!?! Wow. Amazing customer service Im not going to any other bike shop now . I don't know why I haven't checked this place out before now. Being a avid bike rider for more than, lets just say a long time. Having searched for bike shops in the tri-county area over the same time. Having passed by and seen this place but not stopping. I did not know what I was missing. Some of the best service hands down that I have ever had in a bike shop. Great selection and knowledgeable staff left me feeling confident that purchasing a bike here would be a good experience. Not only are the staff sales people and mechanics but as I learned they are athletes who ride, run, and swim. Making there knowledge and experience that much more valuable. The owner Alex also exudes the same qualities as his employees. He was able to answer every question and concern I had and took as much time with me as I needed giving me his complete attention without distraction. I have been back several times with minor warranty / service issues and am very happy to say that each has been handled to my satisfaction. The shop is laid out nicely and has a great selection of road and mountain bikes of all levels. Lots of riding gear also from clothing to bike carriers and if you don't see it just ask. They can get it and I was told they will at least match the best price you can find on line. Not a bad deal. I have found a new bike shop that has earned my confidence and business . I have already recommended them to friends and one has used them for a tune up with positive feedback. I think you should give them a try. I do believe you will be as impressed as myself. I would only give 2 1/2 stars if I could because Alex seems like a nice enough guy; but the truth is it wasn't a good experience buying a bike at this place. The first day I spoke with Alex and he only had one bike in the place that would "fit me" in the price range and style of bike I was looking for. I left to think about the bike overnight. Bikes are in high demand right now. The next day I returned to get the bike and the attention I received was atrocious. I should had left the bike there bI had Invested the time and was there and wanted to start riding so I waited around 40 mins just to pay for the bike. The real problem isn't the wait. In retrospect, they never fitted me for the bike. They didn't ensure it was the right size. They didn't ensue the seat was at the right height. They didn't ensure the handlebars were at the right height and angle. The didn't do anything and I spent almost $800 for the bike. I didn't even get the manual that was supposed to come with the bike. Moral of the story, if you're not spending thousands of dollars, you're better off at another shop. Dicks does more for fitting you on a bike than this place and this is supposed to be a "bike shop." I'm taking part of the hit because I should had been a better shopper and demanded more (or left) but at the end of the day they should had done their jobs and they failed and I cant recommend them unless you know exactly what you want, need and is best for you or if you. read more

I needed a new pair of Oakley's and some gloves and it was an hour before close and I wasn't helped so I just left. They had two workers which I could wait and one was helping a kid purchase a bike, ok, but the other who I initially asked for help was behind the counter having a conversation with a customer. The customer told him to help me and he said I will when I'm finished. 15 minutes later he's just sitting behind the counter still not doing anything haven't moved or anything. All I needed was the case opened to get the glasses I wanted and I would have purchased them and walked out. I'm 19 and look young but it was straight ignorance from whoever was working and was obviously checked out so I walked out and they lost my glove and Oakley sale. read more

This has always been a great shop, and I'm happy they are closer to us now at SR-84 & Weston Road. Daniel and everyone I've worked with there cares very much about all levels of cycling. I have done everything from trails to road biking (South Broward Wheelers - the "fast" group), and now that I'm a duffer and my needs aren't so critical I appreciate how Alex's has been there for the cycling community. Other than the move they haven't changed over the years, and they still have a great selection of bikes for every level. Most recently they had a hard-to-find popular bike in stock and built it for me in about 30 minutes, even though there was a line out the door (social distancing) and the staff was busy with customers in the showroom. I haven't seen a line at any other bike shop! The last bike we bought from them was several years ago, my son's first "big boy" bike. Again, it was a hard-to-find model and he still loves it even though it's on the small side now. We purchased two Treks from the Sunrise shop in between using Alex's shop, and Trek didn't give me a sense they cared about service or listened to what I wanted. They "sold" me what they had, and while they're good bikes for the money I was disappointed. Alex's shop has a wider selection and a lot on the showroom or in the back, and once again I got exactly what I wanted. read more

Outstanding service. Just got off the trails at markham park.. had an issue with my brakes. Stopped by on a whim to see if they can fit my bike in. The mechanic asked what the bike was doing and said just bring it in right now so he can see it. Just an out of true rotor (was brand new rotor too). In and out in under 30 min. They have a nice collection of bikes too. Ill be planning to come back here for a full service on my bike and to pissibly buy a road bike. read more

Top notch bike shop. Went here to rent a mountain bike to ride at Markham Park. It's really amazing to have this shop so close to Markham. Always love supporting local bike shops wherever I travel. It keeps the industry booming and the little guys profiting. I discovered an issue with my bike and a product that they also sell there, and figured I'd have the local guys give it a look and maybe help me warranty/service it. First question out their mouth was what bike it is. Once they realized I didn't purchase the bike from them, they basically shut me down. I Kept explaining my issue, and they kept reverting to trouble shooting I had already done. In the end they basically said they couldn't do anything and let me walk out. Didn't even offer to take a look at it, or help me with a warranty process or At-least where to start. Not the kind of customer service you want or expect from a local shop. read more

BIG THANK YOU! to Alex's bicycle shop. Had a fitting done today and Steve was the bomb. He had me in a way better position after some adjustments. And the computer agreed . Come to find out that he road raced in Europe for 10 years. ‍ Next was Aaron the mechanic. Another champion in his field. On my Saturday ride, I had a full body contact with the road ( lucky me at approx 1 1/2 mile max speed. ) must hit my rear derailleur just enough that I could not shift anymore. Aaron plugged it onto the computer - and lucky me no major damage. He got it working again in less then 30 minutes. Lucky me because they don't have a new derailleur in stock. Shimano is out of them until November. ( my race is in September) ... and while I was waiting, I got 2 new tires, a helmet I always wanted , and a coffe americano - they got a coffee shop right there Thank you Alex, you got a great team working for you. read more

My son brought his Mountain Bike in for tuning. They went and overhauled the bike with new rear shifter and cables. My wife picks up bike because she is told it's ready. When I inspect the bike at home, no shifter (missing) and loose cables that aren't even connected. I take the bike back and they complete it by installing the missing items. My sons takes the bike to Markham and gets home with the handle bars completely loose. They did not tighten them. Really poor work for such a high cost tune up/repairs. I haven't actually been here in a few years, because I decided to purchase a bike at a different nearby shop, what a mistake on my part! For the decade I've been riding , whenever I had a serious problem with one of my bikes that required advanced mechanical servicing (shock service, brake bleeds) I have found this shop the most reliable. They are a bit out of the way so for simpler jobs I go to a closer mechanic, but one who doesn't in house shock repairs and brake bleeds which can be very finicky for even the best mechanics. I have countless experiences through the years of this shop completing the work accurately and on the first attempt. I shoulda came to Alex's, next time I will. read more

This is a nice big shop! I had never been here before, or even knew it existed, until I searched for a good bike store on Yelp. Came here looking for a new MTB. Not a whole lot of selection as other stores had, at least for a small frame. They have a nice variety of accessories, pads, riding clothes etc. The man who was attending us was very nice and patient - which is hard to find at bike shop, in my opinion. Last week I purchased a 2020 Giant Propel from Alex's Bicycle Pro Shop and am very excited about my new aero road bike. Alex and his entire staff were very professional, knowledgeable and kind. They were also patient as they took the time to answer all of my questions while remaining very supportive throughout my decision process. I just needed a flat tire fixed regular bicycle I brought my bike back four times and had to pay each time and the flat tire was flat again after 1 or 2 rides every time. this was three months ago. I tried to fix myself but I suspected something with the rim. I brought my bike to a different bike shop and the flat tire has been good for 3 months. Each time I brought my bike back I asked could it be the rim or something else and I was told hey flat tires happen. So I can't speak for new bike sales but why would I ever purchase a bike here or recommend this shop read more
