Felt disorganized walking in, came In for ear piercing and a belly button piercing. Belly button went fine, but the ear piercing was done with the wrong jewelry and fell out within 12 hours of getting done. Did not feel like a clean shop, while chairs were wiped between clients the whole place smelled like body odor and cheap vape. read more

Appointment scheduling was extremely easy via their website. I really like how they have their establishment set up and the climate is very chill. I just got my nose pierced and the piercer gave very great information before performing the piercing and very good instructions about cleaning and caring for the piercing. Matt is skilled, calming and entertaining. My girls had planned sister tattoos for the past two years. Graduation day came and so did the tattoos. Harry Potter fans to the core- Always~ Girls left happy. Improvements: I might've missed the sign but if you don't allow drinks (water bottle 3/4 empty) in the establishment you might want to let people know upfront. Letting me know 45 minutes into the experience while my girls were getting tattooed in an abrupt way didn't leave a warm and fuzzy feeling. read more

I got pierced at this place and couldn't recommend it to anyone. The piercer was rude and she danced and sung the whole time while piercing my ears, I felt uneasy that she wasn't staying focused at one point she even slipped the needle in sideways. She told me to tell her if I needed a breather and when I did she just kept going with no regard that I felt like I was going to pass out. The piercings were way too over priced and the piercings she put in were far too small for my ears. I went back to get my jewelry changed where not only did they not have matching jewelry but her apprentice didn't sterilize her hands or the jewelry, that had been sitting in a dish in a glass case not knowing how many people have touched it before, my ears got severely infected from the cheap gold jewelry she put in. I want to warn all other people who want to get their ears pierced while in Tuscaloosa. read more

I'm not one to leave a bad review. Seriously, like if something goes wrong with a business, I understand that it really only affects me, and also could just be a fluke. That being said, I cannot give Cynical Tattoos a worse review after my experience there yesterday. Went with my friend who wanted to get his ears gauged. Decided on a small tattoo for myself and sat down to wait on the next available slot. Everything seems to be fine until some employee (dont know her name, but she is an unnatural blonde with large gauges, perhaps she mainly does piercings), came out and started berating my friend Tyler. He had also had a bad experience with the lack of professionalism and had left them a 1 star review over a year ago.... the woman remembered him from his review, called him out, and then started going in on why he was wrong for the review, and how he needed to find someone else to work on him since he "obviously thinks they are only worth 1 star". Here's the thing. Her being a bitch about a single review has led to me leaving a bad review on every form of social media I can find. I have gone to the shop for one tattoo prior, the line work was decent but over-priced for how simple it is. I'm aware that this review will most likely get me banned from ever using Cynical Tattoos ever again, but trust me.... it's not that much of a loss. Get you shit together and your employees in line. As the owner I'd be embarrassed to have this employee associated with my business name. read more

I HATE my tattoo. It is patchy. The circle isn't even a circle. It doesn't look like earth. Where it is supposed to be solid black I can see my skin underneath. It is the worst tattoo I have ever gotten. Do not come here, or at least don't go to Anna. I had such high hopes after seeing her clean lines on her portfolio, but she must rush projects that she doesn't like or something. Horrible tattoo and biggest regret of my life. I got a piercing here a while ago. I called and asked for a price and they told me $50. When I made my appointment and arrived, they told me it was $65 - not including tip. I was little frustrated but paid anyway and got the piercing. A month goes by and I am able to take out my earring, only for me to realize the lady pierced it at an upward angle and it is very difficult for me to put in earrings to this day. It is challenging to find the end of the piercing hole. I took my sister here for her next piercing, to give them another chance figuring I just got a bad piercing. But the same thing happened to her. She paid $90 - not including tip - for a second earlobe piercing, which is just a RIDICULOUS amount for a earlobe piercing. She paid for a different earring than I did, so that probably added to the price, but she is unable to reuse this earring again because of how the earring is designed. But to pay extra for the earring for her not to be able to use it again is not right. She left her earrings in for 2 months. Today we were trying to put a different earring in, to find out her piercing is pierced at a downward angle and is very complicated to put in. In my opinion, it is unacceptable to pay that much for a piercing for it it be at an angle and to not be able to reuse the earring we paid for. read more

I wouldn't even give 1 star to this place. I was treated like trash when I went. The guy and girl working there both had had attitudes. They wouldn't even let me use the restroom. Wait, what? I'm about to pay you to do a service for me and I can't even use the restroom? Not to mention that after he tells me I can't use the restroom he holds his finger to his mouth and points another girl/customer to where it's located. I felt like I was being treated like I was homeless. Every question I asked, I was given a quick "we don't do that". It was like they didn't want to do anything (except say no). Best of all was the attitude I got when I asked to see a book or display of their work. He didn't even want to do that. Either they have no work good enough for display or they were just out to make someone else's day as bad as theirs was. I'm actually really glad this was the worst service I've ever been shown because I didn't get my tattoo because of it. I did however, find the best tattoo artist (that isn't a complete ass). So thanks for being the worst because that's how I found the best. Bottom line: go somewhere else because these people we're lazy asses. read more

In my personal experience, I had a pleasant experience at Cynical. I was a walk-in getting a piercing done and in my opinion, everyone acted very professionally. The woman who did my piercing was extremely kind and knowledgeable. She was very informative in regards to taking care of my piercing. All of the staff members that I encountered were very kind and helpful. I would highly recommend Cynical for getting piercings, however I have not gotten a tattoo from here, so I don't have any review for the tattoo side of Cynical. read more

They are extremely unprofessional. The owner, Chris, has done five of my tattoos, and I went in to see him about some touch up work and a new small tattoo. I was told that it was no problem and to come back the following Monday. I showed up on Monday, and there was a sign on the door that the shop was closed for the day. I called and was told by another artist that they were closed because he was sick but to come back the next Tuesday. I called right before the agreed upon time that Tuesday to make sure that we were still on and was told that he would do the small tattoo, but it would be several months before he could do any touch up work. After he had already agreed to do it, and I had been put off. Chris is not a talented enough artist to treat people the way that he does. His ego has grown more than his talent has. I know better now but thought he would be fine to touch up his own work and do a tiny tattoo elsewhere. I do not recommend this shop because there are other people that do much better work and will treat you, your time, and the money you are attempting to give them with greater respect. read more

AVOID GETTING PIERCED HERE AT ALL COSTS!!!!!! Giving it one star because Yelp! Will not allow zero and the lady at the front desk was extremely nice to me when I came in. I got my nipples pierced at Cynical, by the lady who does piercings. I received one good piercing, but my right nipple is 50 shades of FUCKED UP. She managed to miss my nipple all together and pierce my aureola crooked. I went back to the shop 3 hours later, after non-stop blood soaking my shirt, and before she even looked at it, she told me that bleeding this much was normal. I finally showed her and questioned the placement and she told me it was fine, and would look more normal when I put a bar in it. She didn't even clean up the bloody mess herself, she threw me ONE small cleaning wipe AFTER i asked and watched me try to clean it myself. I visited a second shop (that I trust so much more from prior work and should have went to in the first place) and was told that I was the THIRD set of nipple piercings he has seen her mess up. I called the shop to try and tell a manager or owner what happened, and was told that I was not allowed to speak to them and there was no way this girl messed up because she was trained thoroughly.
