A very old…read moregraveyard People like rivers and since the small town of Clinton has some really nice ones, people have been hanging around here for a long time. At one time a booming ship building industry was present along the Indian River but now the town is more known for it's tourism. This graveyard is ancient indeed and I even heard that one marker dates from 1670. I couldn't find that one, maybe it no longer exists, but I did find some that date back to the early 1700s. Like most old gravestones, especially ones near the ocean, many were very difficult to read. Others were broken and some just nubs ready to return to the earth. The cemetery can be hard to find because you have to go under a very narrow railroad trestle to get in it. However it is actually much larger than it first looks and has a very large variety of different memorials and gravestones. A very cool old graveyard to explore and walk around. A whole lot of history, some of it very old, is contained inside.

Among the notable burials are members of the Hoxie, Greenman, Denison, and Mallory families. The names that represent region's shipbuilding, mercantile, and philanthropic history. My sister knows my love for cemeteries so she drove me through here. I would have stayed longer, maybe a picnic by the water. We were caravanning that day with others so I wasn't able to spend the time I wanted. I have never been to a cemetery next to such a beautiful serene river. If I make it back to the area, this will be on the first place I go. They have a beautiful website that is full of history going back to 1853. My loved one died in May and a covid ceremony took place. He was cremated so I asked for a table to be at the gravesite for the service. They showed up with a wire plant stand that could have been from Ocean State Job lot. Not what I expected. Courtesy of the Coast Guard and my loved one's daughter, we have a nice service with military honors and a minister's prayers and comments. Now 5 months later we are still waiting for the name to be engraved on the family stone. This was paid for back in May. After numerous calls we are still waiting.

Unprofessional, I called multiple times to get a storage unit. The first time I called they had to…read morego to church and asked me to call back (this was the second time I called). I called first thing the next business day but mid sign up their computer rebooted and they asked me to call back. I called back 20 min later and the site was not back up. They said they'd call me back as soon as it was fixed. They never called and the unit I was trying to rent had been given to another person. Completely wasted my time.

My dad is now a resident at Masonicare in their assisted living section. He's been there a little…read moreover one month. The staff is friendly and helpful. The facility always looks and smells clean. They provide rides to doctor's appointments and have relationships with excellent healthcare providers and a pharmacy that delivers. I toured three facilities before choosing Masonicare and am SO happy with this choice. My dad likes the location, "most" of the people (LOL), and says the food is "pretty good" which is pretty high praise from him. (Before he moved we tried Meals on Wheels, which he described as "inedible".) They have a lot of activities and although he doesn't participate in all of them, he's enjoyed the ones he has. He has a one bedroom apartment with a walk-in closet, and a small separate living room and kitchenette, which works well for him. Although he'd prefer to be at "home" (now sold), he says Masonicare is a good second option. This really is phenomenal given he originally refused to consider assisted living. Highly recommend checking out Masonicare if you are looking for either independent senior living or assisted living.

When Steven and his son brought my sister out of the room on the stretcher she looked at peace - no plastic bag zipped up over her. She was laying there - her beautiful and peaceful face exposed. Her body covered with a beautiful handmade quilt. Peacefully, she was taken from the house with care and respect. I can never thank Steven and staff for their kind and loving care they gave my sister. I never felt that Steven looked at this as a "job". He cares and shows it with everything he says and does.
