Too much turnover. Different people every time and lack of response to email cost me money.

VETERANS BEWARE OF GEICO!!…read more Today Geico sends a txt saying they're raising my rate from 442.00 a month to 1150.00 per month ( coverage for my wife, son and I on two vehicles- one is paid off, one is financed with GM). I called them and they had my 24 year old college student ( on deans list) as driving with a permit which he has not since he was 19. They updated his info and then it went to 1800.00 a month!! I laughed. I then asked if they remove me from the policy as I am a disabled Veteran and don't drive any longer ( I'm the only one in the family that had several fender benders causing the rate to go up). Get this! The agent says well you will have to surrender your license to the motor vehicle division, then provide proof. He actually said that. Just to entertain his comment and not surrendering my identification to anyone) I said ok I'll do it Monday. He stumbled then said well it won't make a difference in the new rate. Keep in mind my son and wife have never had an accident or moving violation EVER. I do not need to surrender my DL. If they were concerned of me driving and got into an accident it simply wouldn't be covered by them. Period!! What a crock. They claim they support vets. Then I told them we definitely would not be renewing our policy. If I did I won't drive period. ( like I said don't need to drive at all wife can) they said I couldn't do that I said watch me. They said I would have to surrender my drivers license to DMV and provide them a copy of it. I said maybe with Geico but you're on notice I'm shopping this first thing tomorrow and if I have to not drive for a year or so until one of them is over 3 years old so be it. They then said well i let's see what we can do. Raised all the deductibles and bare minimum coverage treating me like it was Christmas said 887.50 a month. I said have a great rest of your day. Any advice here? Obviously going to shop and adjust to whatever. We got a new quote from State Farm for within 50.00 of our policy with Gecko..I didn't spell it wrong there colors change with the climate..

This mistake cost us hundreds of dollars and created completely avoidable stress during an already high-stakes process. What made this situation even worse was her behavior before and after the error. She repeatedly talked over me, dismissed my concerns, and failed to listen when I tried to clarify details--details that would have prevented this mistake in the first place. When I finally called her out on the error, she took zero responsibility. Instead of owning the mistake or offering a solution, she became defensive and unprofessional, telling me "this is my agency, I own this, and you can't escalate to management." That response alone speaks volumes about her accountability and customer service standards. If you value: * Accuracy * Professionalism * Being listened to * An agent who takes responsibility for their mistakes Do not use this broker. A basic error like an incorrect address should never happen, and the refusal to own it afterward is unacceptable

I'm beyond disappointed with this agency. My wife has insurance through a State Farm agency, so…read morewhen I got fed up with GEICO, she suggested I apply with State Farm. I did so on November 15 through their website, looking to get a better rate. Sure enough, I did get a quote, and some expectations set that I would be receiving a call from this particular agency with possible follow up questions. I got a call from a woman (Sharon?) who asked a handful of questions and answered a couple of mine. She told me I'd receive my insurance cards in the mail, she'd email me a temporary card in the meantime, and she'd get back to me within an hour with an update to see if linking the policy to my wife's would reduce my rate further. I never got the email. I never got my log in credentials for online access, but I was able to get that squared away through their email verification system. Two weeks later, I never even got the hard copy in the mail. I called back but the office closes at 5:00pm and I keep missing them because no one answers the phone after about 4:45pm. After FOUR weeks, I finally get in touch with someone. The guy tells me that the lady I talked to is no longer with the agency, but couldn't explain to me why no one bothered to follow up with a brand new customer she'd been in touch with the day that she left the agency. He couldn't get my ID cards for me, so he transferred me to another lady. This one had the audacity to tell me that I was the one who did something wrong because I provided "inaccurate" information on my application. When I asked what was "inaccurate," I was told that I marked married but didn't provide any information for my wife. Not sure how I was supposed to provide information that I WASN'T ASKED FOR, but this idiot had the customer service failing to tell a still-new customer who was already upset with State Farm that the customer was the one who made a mistake when the agency has already made FOUR errors and has yet to apologize or resolve any of them. For all the "I can understand your frustration" quotes I keep hearing, they haven't done a thing to get me squared away. I had to call my wife to get her driver's license number, and of course when I called back (at about 4:58pm) they were already done for the day and I had to leave a message. Why they even need my wife's driver's license number when they already have her as a customer is beyond me, but apparently none of their systems interact with each other and my wife is housed at another agency in Houston and they can't access other State Farm clients, even though they can pull up the vehicle she has covered? I got a call back from Megan the following morning, who asked me the exact same questions I'd already answered three times to the first lady, the guy, and the second lady I'd talked to. Apparently these people do not know how to input anything into a computer and hit a save button. She also told me that they'd need a copy of my defensive driving certificate. That's not so much an issue since I expected it, but the first lady I'd talked to had explicitly told me that they could look it up in a state database and that I DIDN'T need to provide it. It's been four weeks since I applied and made my payment. Despite six phone calls and repeated verbal assurances that I have an active policy, they have yet to send me a single document in the mail. I've been given a temporary card showing 12/12 as an effective date of coverage (28 days after my application/payment), but I have yet to receive an insurance card showing coverage dating back to the date they charged my credit card, and I'm being told things are still being underwritten. The customer service at this particular agency is beyond lacking. Assuming everything comes back promptly, I'd be saving over $200 over six months by switching to State Farm. That said, I may not have the chance to go through with it, because I only have 30 days to cancel back to my application date and these people don't seem capable of getting anything done with any kind of speed.

No problem or so I thought. Inspector found 2 shingles that were damaged. No worries, it was fixed. He also said there were limbs over the roof on the detached garage. A metal building, 2 garage doors. Simple enough. All issues were resolved. Turns out this Idiot was talking about an old shack that has a massive oak tree growing through it. It's about to fall over. It's uninsurable to say the least !!! They canceled my coverage on my Hill Country Residence due to an Idiot Inspector. When I spoke to him on the phone, his speech was slurred. I should have told him to get off my property and wait for me to be there. I didn't. It took an act of God to get State Farm to realize their mistake based on the information from an Idiot Inspection !!! A few days later I get a check in the mail for my cancellation. I paid it for a year. I take the check to the agent's office to return it. They wouldn't take it. They said I had to deposit it and then pay em again !!! I did. I paid it for six months. I'll be moving all of my insurance to USAA or anybody besides State Farm. But Wait !!!that's not all. Both vehicles have this drive safe beacon. They track your driving etc etc. You get a discount. Ok, I'm in. One of the beacons was defective. It took an act of Congress to get my agent to order us a replacement. It finally arrived. I downloaded it, and it's working fine. Today I get a text message saying I owe them $21.00 for not using one of the beacons. I sent a message saying telling them where they can stick that $21.00 !!! State Farm is not a good neighbor !!!! Ever since coming back to the James Pearson Agency, my life has been through pure hell. They send an old wino out to inspect my property. He tells the company that I am trying to pull a scam by trying to insure a rickety old shed instead of the new metal building that is my garage.. the garage wasn't 65 feet right in front of your eyes. Unbelievable !!! This is the most messed up agency I have ever seen in my life. State Farm is just as bad !!! I hope I never need them because I know already what will happen. Go somewhere else !!!
