Great service, awesome food, wonderful ambience and fair pricing. Hard to get all those things right these days, but this place did.

The menu was just right as in they offer a perfect amount of choices. The food was absolutely delicious. We had an appetizer, main course and shared two desserts. Our waiter was very attentive and management also checked in with the tables making sure we were all having a good experience. The decor was elegant. I loved the long leather booths and the tables are spaced appropriately apart. Their wine wall looked amazing with all of the choices. read more

For starters the menu is great, there's a lot to choose from and the pictures online make it hard to choose because everything looks amazing! Since I was undecided, I asked our waitress what she'd recommend and she didn't disappoint. I got the stuffed avocado with chicken salad and wow, the flavors between the chicken salad and hot sauce on top were perfectly balanced 8/10. I also enjoyed the prickly pear lemonade, it was so fresh for the hot summer days. Definitely a nice spot for lunch or even for dinner, plus the service was so good. This is an excellent change of pace for my husband and myself! My husband had the fish ( like sea bass) and I had the Harvest wrap. Both tasty and filling. The atmosphere was relaxed and enjoyable. The staff is friendly and patient and will serve you a three course meal in 45 minutes or two hours, whichever pace you prefer. read more

This restaurant is extremely loud. Last night my friends and I found the Fish & Chips to be very poor. The fish was really over cooked. The fries were soggy and very oily, no flavor & not crisp. The slaw was unacceptable. What a disastrous meal. Since I have been to this location several times, I was disappointed. I asked for a glass of Cab, and the bartender had to stoop down to make sure she didn't pour more than she was required to. For a $15 glass the amount was well under and not even near a half glass. Many people I know will not spend $28 for a bottle of Daou. I usually get 3 good glass of this wine at home. It appears the owner (Amanda) has instructed this thin young lady to only pour so much. I had a personal tour guide to find that restaurant. When I called them, they helped me by coming out of the restaurant going 2 blocks to where I was and leading me back to their restaurant. That was the first amazing thing - then the food was delicious! Some of the best I've ever had. Fondue appetizer Barramundi and chicken salad. And then the waiter gave us a free dessert. Delicious with the avocado aioli and horseradish. Ordered the southern hot mess 1/2# burger with pimento cheese and a fried green tomato drizzled with spicy Russian and lettuce/ tomato. Can with great house made chips. Crunchy with a misquote flavor. Then the stuffed avocado on a bead of lettuce and a Rueben. Finished it off with the pecan pieces with vanilla bean ice cream and whipped cream, bourbon chocolate cake and turtle topped vanilla bean cheesecake! Bagged up the leftovers. Yes! Go here to eat. We were looking for a place for a Saturday night date night. We found this spot and were able to get a reservation at 5 PM in the bar. We were greeted right as we walked in the door, shown to our table, and instantly welcomed by the 2 wonderful servers in the bar. It was happy hour, so we ordered the Prickly Pear Lemonade & Old Fashioned from the HH menu. Both were great! My husband ordered the Ahi appetizer and said it was amazing. He also ordered the special that night which was a quail dish; he loved it. I had the Farmhouse pasta and it was fabulous. The second a drink was close to being empty or a plate was finished, someone came and took care of it right away. The staff were so friendly, the male server in the bar (I am blanking on his name) chatted with my husband about college football. He knew we were from Seattle and he was a huge Cooper Kupp fan. We really enjoyed visiting with him. We rarely order dessert, but they had a glazed donut with vanilla ice cream and caramel that was to die for! I can't wait to go back to Abilene just to eat at Cypress Street Station. It was the best meal of the trip. read more

What a cute little restaurant! The day we arrived, it was POURING rain outside. We weren't expecting too many people to be at the restaurant but it was packed. Parking was difficult to find. They had a good variety of cocktails and they were delicious. I ordered a chicken Caesar salad and a cup of the Portuguese clam chowder. I had never had clam chowder like that before but it was delicious! If I am ever in town again, I would definitely stop by! read more

Cypress Street Station checks all the boxes! The food is wonderful. The menu is outstanding and the chef goes above and beyond with creating specials that are exceptional. But the experience goes beyond the food. We have never had the type of service at any other restaurant. We have a favorite server, Trey, who we ask for every time we go in. He is amazing and always makes our experience the best!! The owner, Terry, came over to meet us on our first visit. We talked about wine and food. Now he always has the great bottle of wine to suggest for our meal and takes the time to talk with us when we are there. Put this restaurant on your list of must go places. What an unexpected find in Abilene. Very tasteful restaurant with attentive staff, especially bartender Chloe. We were greeted separately by what I assume were the owners, asking how everything was. Happy Hour menu had some tempting offers. We got the bruschetta which had loads of tomatoes but could have used a bit more pesto & Parmesan. The entree salads were simple but with very fresh lettuce. Visit #1- Oct 4.22 I came here for late lunch, and there were no crowds. The service was fast and very attentive. I ordered the Rainbow trout and substituted fries for a double salad. I must say that I was not super impressed since the fish was not fresh and drier than expected. The salad tastes precise how it looks in this picture. I will give another chance to this place since they have a diverse menu. My first impression is not the greatest, but second chances are essential in all relationships. Visit #2- Oct 10.22 I visited Cypress Street for the second time. I believe we all deserve a second opportunity. I ordered the special of the day, which was Mahi Mahi. I liked the plate in general. The fish was well-cooked, and the pasta was tasty. I think the fish could have had a bit more spices to remove the solid fishy flavor, but it was ok. I do not believe this dish should be almost fifty dollars. I will give this place a third chance. I am not impressed by the venue or the food, but I am impressed with its prices. I finally flagged down a waitress after 15 minutes and here comes the manager saying we weren't assigned. i have been to several steak restaurants but this type of service is unacceptable.. Stopped him for a late midday lunch at 1:30pm and was seated promptly. Excellent service. Really enjoyed my locally brewed "Stripper dust" vanilla Porter by Pappy Slokum. Very smooth with a great finish. The "Southern Hot Mess" Burger was very tasty and juicy. Ask for more Russian dressing. Meh. The food was fine, but the ambiance was like eating at a dusty old Steak & Ale. Our ticket for two people was $130 with tip, which was about $60 too high for the service and experience. I knew we were doomed when my $15 cocktail was served in an iced tea glass with a wedge of lemon--a real lack of artistry (and very weak). The overall experience just so blah. The food was ok (although saying the toast the bruschetta was served on is "ciabatta" is a real stretch). I've definitely had much better in Abilene. Save your money. read more

First time in Abilene and trying t o find local grub. Found this little gem and it did not disappoint. We ordered the sweet chili calamari for an appetizer. The calamari was delicious and flavorful. We also got some complementary jalapeño cornbread which was fluffy and yummy. For our main entree my son and I ordered the Bayou Florentine pasta. The portions were generous and the meal was mouthwateringly delicious. To stay with the New Orleans theme I ordered a hurricane and let me tell you it was potent! This little slice of heaven is completely unique, underrated and my favorite restaurant in Abilene. We had a group of 8 and had no problem getting in at last minute. The other restaurant- name not mentioned- is not near as wonderful a dining experience for us non locals. The Barramundi was perfect. The Coule was beyond any expectations. Cypress Street offers a cozy darker atmosphere with great service. The food was good, but we felt as if it wasn't living up to its fullest potential. The idea of the food is wonderful and the menu offers a range of delicious choices, but the quantity and flavor is not being fully implemented. We loved the creamy peanut butter dressing on the Thai Chicken Salad, but felt as if it needed more to it. Maybe the addition of fresh veggies.. carrots, cucumber? The Autumn Harvest Wrap sounds like a delicious mix of flavors, but it was really lacking on a wow factor that could've made the sweet and savory foods come together. The homemade chips that came with the wrap were simply delicious, sweet yet salty! I feel as if Cypress Street really has the potential to thrive and be must go to restaurant downtown. read more

Great place with large windows to let in light and views of Cypress Street. Food is fantastic! Steaks, chicken, seafood, does not matter, it is all really good!
