I have used Gallion Granite and Tile (GGT) three times in the past year. The last time was last…read moremonth and decided to write a review about their work and expertise with granite and other components of the job. Before starting this review I started reading other reviews to get a feel for writing one myself. I was amazed at the review by Mom H. I don't know what happened with her project but those experiences were nothing like what I had for the three times I have used GGT. The first project was about a year ago where I was doing a major rework of tile floors to wood (1800 sq ft) and a remodel of the kitchen. My wife made a call to GGT and talked to Becky and got off the phone and said "I have the contractor" I was amazed that in one call she could make this decision and she said "gut feeling based on the call" We had Darrel and Becky (owners of GGT) come to our house and provide an estimate on the granite work and reviewed the rest of the work that was to be done. Darrel listened to the scope and made several suggestions for the tile removal, where to purchase products and provided a quote for the kitchen and bar counters. Darrel worked with my wife on some design changes for those counters which she took under advisement and ultimately decided were great changes. When Darrel heard the quote for the tile removal his comment was "no way, that's too much". He then gave me a quote to remove the floor tile. I used his suppliers to purchase the wood flooring and arranged for installation. This vendor was about 20% less that the other three quotes I had received. The job was a major undertaking and took about 6 weeks from start to finish which was about 2 weeks better than my original estimate. The work performed and the quality of work was excellent and the project came in under my original budget. Thanks GGT. I was so impressed with the quality, work, price and crew I called GGT when I was doing a remodel of the backyard BBQ station. Again, GGT gave me a very competitive quote and timeline. Darrel suggested a chiseled edge to keep the rustic look of the area and we agreed. This project took one day to demolish the old tile work and reset new foundation, a couple of days to fabricate the granite and an hour to install the 18 foot counter and bar top. Again the work was professional, the crew cleaned up everything and the new BBQ area was ready one week after the project started. The most recent work that I had GGT do was our bar. We had a water leak that ruined cabinets, floors and some wall area. I decided to do most of the work myself to save money from the insurance claim. I did most of the floor, cabinet and wall work with my grandson (he's good at this stuff) and GGT came out and made suggestions on the bar layout and removed the granite hoping to be able to reuse as much as possible. The end result was great. Darrel again worked with my wife on the layout and was able to reuse much of the granite for the new bar layout. I know that Darrel is a little chatty and jokes a lot as Mom H. stated but as a small business owner myself, we like to make it personal with our customers and part of that is social and relationship building. I did not find that my time and life were infringed upon by the chattiness or jokes but gave me in site to another person who values relationships with his customers. I also had no problems with GGT for work related payment. They set a schedule and I paid according to the terms. My wife and I have been very happy with the projects we have done at our custom home and have enjoyed the relationship with GGT. We have another project that is brewing at our 2nd home and GGT will get the call when we are ready. I wholeheartedly recommend GGT. They are professional, friendly, and look out for your designs and pocket book. Do not hesitate to contact them for your next project. I am sorry Mom H did not share the same experience that I have with GGT on my projects
