Went to the dealership (the one next town over) for a simple oil change. Within an hour I get text with a video from the dealership recommending $7000 worth of work. I of course declined and told them to just finish the oil change but when I picked up the car, you bet I drove straight to Montclair Motorwerks from there. Ken and his team took a look at the vehicle and while some of the repairs recommended by the dealership were legitimate, others weren't really needed. The honesty was refreshing. Turned out the vehicle did need some extensive work (thanks Dad). The car was ready within a few days and the price (which was still in the four figures to reflect the scope of the work done) was a fraction of what the dealership would have charged. Additionally I was very careless in leaving something extremely valuable in the vehicle. One of the technicians found it and turned it over to Frankie for safe keeping. Anybody with questionable morals could have taken it and I wouldn't have known. When I picked up the car, it was there for me and while I was of course embarrassed, I was grateful. I'm under no impression that BMWs are cheap vehicles to own and maintain. They aren't. But the high degree of trust I gained from my first encounter with Ken, Frankie an their team made Montclair Motorwerks my go-to since then.

For years, my family and I have been harassed by strange women and men in Essex County, NJ. My conclusion: People think I am anti-Italian, which is ridiculous. My parents were/are Italian-American. My mother was lovely and a wonderful parent. Her family was like a Big Hug. Because of sick/crazed women (and men), I have been bullied and harassed with intent for years. I have been called names; women have cited my body to me in a perjorative tone. I have had to file police reports about these strange/sick women harassing me. I have gone to restaurants and other establishment where strangers have gone out of their way to talk about their Italian heritage and/or relatives near me. Great! I love Italian food and Italian culture! Please don't feel compelled to mention Italian food/culture around me to offend me. I love it all. This is what happened as I waited for my husband to pick me up after I dropped off my car. An employee also spelled my name wrong and said something to the effect of, "Of course, that makes sense." And after he got my car model wrong (a co-worker corrected him with the right car model I brought in to get serviced.) It saddens me that I felt so uncomfortable. The team seems knowledgeable and experienced. My husband has volunteered to take my car to Fix N Fuel after my most recent experience with folks.

They ignored these critical safety symptoms and diagnosed only a noisy exhaust. When I questioned this, they were dismissive and, after the repair, told me to "take it on the freeway for a spin and see what happens." I took it to another shop for a second opinion instead. They immediately found the real problem: the front control arm had failed and my wheel was literally about to fall off. The issue had nothing to do with the exhaust. A mechanic who fails to perform a basic safety inspection and tells you to "see what happens" with a failing front end is not someone who should ever be trusted with your vehicle or your safety.

At the time I had multiple problems with my car, once I had a collection of quotes from other auto repair shops in the area, I found that D'alessandro & Sons Auto center was the most straightforward and offered the best prices. I work in the Montclair area, I was able drop my car off at D'alessandro & Sons Auto center in the morning and in one day they were able to tune my car up, replace the alternator and timing belt, all before I was out of work. Since then I have had no problems with my car and it runs great. This company's genuine care and consideration for a person's time and money along with the reassurance they offer (making sure the customer knows exactly what is wrong with their car and what needs to be done to fix it) makes it easy for me to say I will definitely be returning there if I ever have any other car issues. After reading a few poor reviews on D'allesandro & Sons Auto Body, it was a must I share my experiences with the business and their employees. It has always been tremendous. I drive an older car, '96 Audi A4, which unfortunately gets more work done than i'd like. I go to Greg D'allesandro for any and all repairs without hesitation. Why? The customer service is above par and they perform quality work on my vehicle. When I think of an authentic body shop, their shop on N. Willow in Montclair fits the script. Talk about customer service, I broke down in Verona by Verona Park one evening this past summer and my car was not starting, Greg came out after hours to my location reconnected two loose spark plugs free of charge and I was on my way. It is hard to come by people of that nature nowadays, hence why I give them my business. If you spend time hanging around the shop, you can even get some quality baseball talk while you wait. Top Notch Service!!! I had my 2010 BMW serviced at the dealer 3 times with no satisfaction! Spent over $1800.00 for tune up and computer programming. Check engine light continued to come on. I was referred to Dalessandro Auto by a friend and figured what do I have to lose. After dropping my car off a few hours later Greg called and explained what the problem was. I asked since I paid 1800 for previous work if he would guarantee the work and he agreed. After getting my car returned its been 2 months now with no issues. These guys are the real thing!!!!!! Excellent Service. Brought my 2004 Lexus ES330 in for service. I was told by another shop that needed a water pump as it was leaking. The other shop said it would be a couple of days before they could repair it as it was a large job and required some labor to complete. I needed the car to travel and could not wait that long. I took it to Dalessandro & Sons Auto and Greg the owner said he could complete it the next day. Car was completed as promised and they even washed it for my trip. Could not ask for better service. The guys were absolutely fantastic. Had a new battery installed right before my inspection and it needed to be broken in so the sensors would work and the car could be properly tested. They even helped me drive it around to get it to trigger. No charge, just took the time because they cared. Completely trustworthy, friendly, knowledgeable and affordable. This family owned auto center is well run and has very competent mechanics. They are not the least expensive out there, but they really know what they are doing and are very professional. They will pick up and drop off your car in necessary and are very easy to work with. They make repairs in a timely fashion, answer my questions with courtesy and respect and do not encourage unnecessary work.
