I own a 6 year old off-the-track Thoroughbred, and since he's been with Dani and Joe, he's become a different horse. He was anxious and reactive at our old barn, but here, he's settled down into a gentle packer that is a joy to be around. Dani and Joe are patient and kind in their training, and they understand the needs of a young horse. Danielle and Ky also provide wonderful daily care to your horses -- I don't feel like I need to worry about whether or not my horse will get his feed or supplements when I'm not there, they care as much as I do! We recently had an emergency situation with my horse and Joe and several other members of the Vanguard team stepped up to help my horse while I drove up to meet the vet. I felt truly supported by a family, and I am eternally grateful for them. The facility at Five Star is also gorgeous, well-kept and has plenty of space for everyone. It's always peaceful, never overly busy and you'll never have a hard time finding space to ride with 3 beautiful arenas.

In making the decision to purchase a horse for our daughter and myself, we were recommended Socotur by friends who also purchased a horse from him a few years ago. We explained what we needed and he not only sold us a great horse for my daughter, but helped me find one that was more my speed! LOL! Being new to this experience, he encouraged us to go get the horses checked out by a Vet of our choice which helped us understand the limits of my horse... which was great because I did NOT want a rodeo horse! I had a hard time finding out where to start my quest to let people know about this business and it…read moreowner Raymond Cannady so I thought I would start here. I purchased a horse from Raymond Cannady who claims to be the a trainer and sells horses in July 2023 - immediately after I purchased my horse, everyone noticed that she was not walking right and called her lame. When I purchased her Mr. Cannady said if I ever have any issues with her to let him know and he will take her back and I trusted this man who claimed to be so experienced in horse training and selling horses. I trusted this man that he was selling me a great horse - only to find out he was deceitful about her and her health. My trainer examined my horse and told me that she was sure there some issues with him and I contacted Mr. Cannady to come look at the horse with my trainer to go over what she thought was wrong with her - I am not as experienced to know what was wrong and be able to identify the things they saw - he agreed and after two plus weeks of trying to get him to the stables, he did agree that she had some minor issues but claimed it must have happened after I took possession of her. I emailed him and told him that I wanted him to take her back as I am not knowledgeable enough to keep a horse that might have some issues where she may not be able to be ridden nor did I want the expense of her if I cannot ride her. His response to me was the most foul and disrespectful email I have ever received from anyone - he said it was all my fault and that she was fine when I bought her, even though I had her approx 2 months at that point. So, in order to make sure I was accurate in my trainers observation, we took her to a vet for a full exam and X-rays so I could know what was wrong with her. As soon as we got the vet's office, he immediately recognized her and said he has had her in his clinic before - he pulled her records for us to see less that one week prior to me purchasing her, she was in the same clinic, xrays and a full exam was done - she was found to have a lot of damage to her front left leg and the xrays and report were not good - he gave her a 4 out of 10 soundness which isn't the worst but definitely not what I wanted in a horse and not for the price I paid for her the point of my review is to let people know the type of horse seller he is, so no-one has to go through what I have gone through with him and with the sweet horse - Do your research and get any horse you plan on buying from him checked out thoroughly before you buy - not fair to the buyer or the horse.

Joe and Maureen do this simply because they love it. They are so kind and helpful, as is everyone else that boards here. It's quiet and peaceful and is just a short distance from Morgan Territory Regional Preserve which has so many great trails! Maureen is a wealth of knowledge when it comes to the area and I always have a great time trail riding with her. I've been boarding here for several months now and I couldn't be happier with the facilities,…read morestaff, or boarders. The indoor arena is meticulously cared for and the cleaners do a wonderful job of keeping the facility clean and neat. There is also an outdoor arena and round pen on site. Each stall comes bedded and has it's own oversized paddock and a private tack room with outlets and lighting. The owners couldn't be better to work with, they're truly amazing humans. Waters are automatic and cleaned weekly. The hay has been highly complimented by my vet, dentist, and farrier. They have a hot water wash rack that is matted and kept clean. Trailer parking is available and it's easy to get in and out with the large parking lot. Absolutely no complaints and highly enjoy keeping my mare here.
