Such an amazing experience, I couldn't recommend it enough!!! Laura is so joyful, attentive, and patient with new riders. The horses were great, surefooted, and listened well. I can't even get over how beautiful it was out there, the nature , the history, the animals. It was so peaceful, I wish I could stay out there forever! If you want to go horseback riding in the surrounding areas, don't go anywhere else!

My friend and I went on the 1 1/2 hour quartz ride with Laura who was so incredibly friendly. Even as an experienced rider it felt like I was out riding with some friends while for my friend with no riding experience was still able to have an easy and enjoyable experience with their great horses. Beautiful property and wonderful ride!

We had such an amazing time on our ride. What a beautiful sanctuary for animals and nature. We brought our 75 year old mom as this was on her bucket list, and she had an amazing time too! Our guides were encouraging and calm and we all had the most relaxing ride.

We want to thank Laura for the fun ride and great history lesson on her beautiful ranch. What a great and welcoming greeting we received when we got there and it just got better from there. We enjoyed our horses, the ride was scenic and fun and to get to gallop thru the vineyards was awesome. Thanks again! We will see you again soon!

We had a wonderful Mother's Day ride and Laura really went above and beyond to make it feel special. We did the Quartz trail ride and she was happy to share her knowledge of the ranch's history as we rode along. The horses were great and just as professional! We all agreed that we would highly recommended the experience to anyone who has interest in getting in a saddle, regardless of riding level.

to begin, i'm someone who doesn't write many reviews at all. needless to say, this is one of those experiences that absolutely requires one to be written. not only was the staff extremely kind, welcoming and informing, but the horses were super sweet and easy to ride for beginners, as well as very well groomed, clean and well mannered. from start to finish we felt comfortable, safe and led by the family throughout the ranch. the views were very scenic and historical. i would absolutely recommend this place for anyone from novice to expert or to anyone interested in history or agriculture. they gave complimentary water and had bathrooms on site. they also took photos of me and my fiancé throughout the experience and we were accompanied by the most adorable dogs throughout our ride. tl;dr i'd absolutely recommend this to anyone of all ages, experience levels and all groups or occasions, thanks for having us!

Laura is awesome! Very knowledgeable about the history and lore of San Andres. The horses are forward and energetic but easy to handle the rode was the funnest I've ever had on a rental horse. This was more like a trail ride with friends lots of chances to let your horse run! Will definitely go back and highly recommend everyone go at least once. Money well spent!

My son loved seeing outside in all the trees and rocks. Even saw a cat. He was happy. My 2 year old loved the horses. She could see them from the window. We were allowed to take as many pictures as we wanted and they even let my kids pet the horses. All around a great experience.

After spending nearly two hours exploring the Park, we saw the stage coach coming back into town and decided that it was time to take a ride. A young lady took our money, gave us our tickets, helped us board the stage coach. Boarding requires agility that we old people no longer have; but, we managed to get inside. Riding inside this over 100 years old stage coach gives you a small taste of what travel was like late in the 19th Century. My wife commented that she doubted that the original seats were not as padded as the ones we were sitting on. The seats were probably just bare wood. About half way through the ride the driver stopped and explained that Columbia was "dry diggings" meaning that water needed to be imported. Miners paid $6-$9 a day for water. With the price of gold being as low as $12 an ounce, miners needed half to three quarters of an ounce of gold just to pay for water. Guess who was really making money. The rocks around us are limestone exposed by miners digging around them looking for gold and smoothed by the weather once they were exposed. As the driver was explaining the history of the stage coach, I was admiring the craftsmanship that went into its construction. Once back at the stage stop the driver helped us down and talked to us a bit about the team pulling the stage coach. If you are every in Columbia State Historic Park, get a taste of what it was like to travel in 1850 by riding Quartz Mountain Stage Lines.

They were welcoming, patient, knowledgeable, and made every student feel included. Our students had an incredible opportunity to learn about ranch and farm life, tractors, horses, foals, farm animals, hay, and the daily responsibilities of caring for a ranch. The hands-on experiences were the highlight of the day. Students were able to groom horses, interact with animals, ask questions, and gain a real appreciation for agriculture and animal care. Terry and his team kept the students engaged from beginning to end. What made this experience even more special was Terry Howard's generosity. Shadow Glen donated approximately three hours of their time at no charge to educate three classes of Center Joint Unified School District students. That level of community support is truly appreciated. Our students are still talking about the trip, and the adults had just as much fun as the kids. It was an outstanding experience from start to finish.

Her confidence level has risen, her confidence in herself has risen, and she knows more about the anatomy, working parts, temperament and personality of a horse than I could ever.
