Responsive but owner was cold and disinterested. Marked up the estimate significantly. Disappointing and poor customer service.

After going thru a 2 month horror show with the wrong landscaper, I was lucky to cut my losses and…read moreeven luckier to find David Freeman. Although his plate was full, after hearing my sob story, he made time in his schedule to fit me in. Aside from aesthetics, my main needs were getting the back yard completely leveled, fully seeded, a dog area, and the drainage relocated. He knocked them all out of the park. Dave and his team were extremely professional. They came and worked like gangbusters for 4 days straight. Always on time and working all day. I was never wondering if and when they were going to show up like you do with other contractors. It was not cheap, but like most things in life, you get what you pay for. Zero aggravation and no excuses are priceless. He knew I was on a budget and did try to cut costs where he could. He expertly relocated some flowers and shrubs that made sense, which did help save some. Being the end of the season, he also utilized some left over plants/shrubs/flowers that he already had to use in my project. In the end, Dave came in and saved the day. He knocked out my project in 4 days with a full crew. There were no excuses or delays. The whole team was super professional. His knowledge of his craft was applied to my back yard and specific needs. They were all met and executed. As I did this project last fall, I have just recently reaped the benefits of his hard work this spring/summer and having seen most of everything in full bloom. I am very happy. Look no further. This is your guy if you want great communication, excellent execution and zero agita in your landscaping needs.

Our new house had been abandoned for 15 years before we purchased it - just piles of dirt everywhere. David helped make our house a home (and tons of compliments from our new neighbors). His team came in quickly and efficiently and did an amazing job with the front and side lawn of our house. David designed a beautiful landscape that highlighted the architecture of the house, and complimented the curves of the sidewalk. I had no idea what to expect and I was so happy with the results. He is friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable. He also left us with instructions to keep our new habitat healthy and growing. He has been available for any and all follow up questions. We will definitely be using his team to get our new garden winter ready as well.

I told Ken what I wanted and he said he could turn our property into the envy of the neighborhood. I was skeptical at first. I needed flowers and shrubs. The side and rear of the house were just ugly dirt and gravel. I wanted a side patio of pavers and rear walkway to cover up the dirt and gravel on the sides of the house. A walkway from the rear walkway to the rear deck. There was a shed with a cement walkway that had to be removed. This was no small task. They tore down the shed and cement walkway and cleared out and leveled out the rear yard. They had to remove over 20 yards of dirt and rocks. They had to move a small tree from the middle of the yard to the corner. They planted new flowers and shrubs with existing ones put down new sod . Then install all the hardscape. It was quite a task. When it finally was finished I couldn't believe it was the same property. Now when buyers come to see the house the first thing they look at is the beautiful new yard. Ken and his crew at Artistic Bamboo did an incredible job. I would highly recommend them for all your needs. Thanks Ken

He told me that his guys were going to be in my neighborhood on the 4th and could stop by around 1pm to trim the tree. They never showed up and by late afternoon Julien informed me that they couldn't make it and that they would have to come by the next day. On the 5th it was raining so Julien again informed me in the afternoon on the 6th that they would come trim the tree at 8am on the 7th. They never showed up and it wasn't until late in the afternoon that Julien called me and said his guys would be by on the 8th. Then on the 8th it rained and Julien wanted to reschedule for the following Monday. I said it was fine and that the safety of his crew was definitely the main priority. He then proceeded to tell me that it was in his best interest to get the guys to get the work done because he doesn't receive his commission unless they do. Ah ha! and there it was, the reason I kept getting jerked around with when I was going to get my tree trimmed, and why I was only notified late in the day after I was able to call any other tree company to come out and take care of the tree. It was due to Julien's commission! On Monday May 10th Julien let me know that they would be coming by to trim the tree. They showed up at 4:50 pm and told me that they had to clear the work with the boss, because he doesn't like them working past 5pm, and that they just did four full removals today and that they didn't have enough time to do this job. So I asked him why it was that Julien would schedule so much in a day (obvious commissions aside). He told me that Julien was just a sales guy and didn't realize how much work it actually takes to remove a full tree. So he makes promises to the clients and then overbooks the actual workers. So this guy tells me that him and his guys are going to work for 45 minutes, then clean up and finish the job tomorrow, which I agreed to (I mean what other choice did I have at this point?). But they pulled their truck into my driveway (parked it on top of my wife's beloved flowers) then did nothing for twenty minutes before leaving. When I told Julien that they parked on our flowers he said that it was a good thing that they grow back. They came back the next day and pulled their truck right back into the same spot on top of the flowers. When I pointed out that they didn't seem too concerned about the driveway being too tight because they pulled in the same way, Julien got offended saying "how am I supposed to get to the tree?" and that it's not their fault the driveway is very tight. Well it's also not my job to figure out how your guys should use their equipment to do their job and not damage my property. When I came home from work after they had trimmed my tree and left, I noticed that they had moved all of my outdoor furniture and made zero effort to put it back from where they moved it. This was an absolutely awful experience and I don't plan to use this company ever again, and I urge everyone else to overlook them as well. The only reason they got a second star is because they did an okay job trimming the tree.
