If you're looking for an RV park near Curtis, this is the place! To start with, the park has new owners and they're putting in a lot of work so a lot of the older reviews are no longer relevant. If you want an RV spot with a lot of space and privacy, look at the pull through spots. They're absolutely gorgeous, level and feel very private as there's ferns and trees separating the spots. My boyfriend and I stayed here for his 30th birthday in the Hemlock cabin & it was perfect! The cabin was a simple one room with a bed... it was very comfortable. NEVER STAY HERE!!! ZERO STARS!! The sites are stacked up so you have no room. Site 11& 12 should NOT even be sites. Literally you are walking by someone's site to use the bathroom and/or shower. Sites: way to small, to close to others, no privacy, fire pit is miniature. Bathroom: see pictures, not well maintained, the mens drain is in the middle of the bathroom so you walk through shower water from others. Just gross. Beach: smallest thing ever, there is no room for a family or two. Boat launch: DON'T USE IT!!! Find the DNR or local public Curtis one!! Do Not rent a boat slip!! These are a joke!! My husband and I were guest for a couple of nights. Our site was private with trees separating us from other campers. Everything was functional and wish we would have been able to stay longer. I am rarely harsh with my reviews unless it is deserved, and this is deserved. There are shady business practices going on here! What a dump! The bathhouse needs to be demolished! It's disgusting. I would think an establishment like this would be concerned about ensuring a return customer base, but based on the customer service and the attitude of "getting paid", I can't see how this business will has had this much longevity. You are better off boondocking then staying here! I read a yelp review that said there was a aggressive exchange between mgmt and a camper. They felt threatened watching. Once you see the owner you know it is true! That woman is ROUGH! The firewood bundle includes 8 pieces of 4 inch wood at a premium $. They are clearly desperate for cash flow, if they would treat their guests fairly it wouldn't be an issue. They want your cash. They need a lesson in BASIC customer service. We stayed here six nights in a tent on site 38. It's fairly spacious, not much grass, and gets direct sun from after noon until almost dusk. We had a shade flap on our canopy but it sucked using the fire-pit for dinner. Our stay didn't start off well due to some other tent campers up cooking their dinner at 1130pm with the spotlight from their boat pointed right at our sight. For the most part, it was a quiet stay the rest of our time even though it was a packed campground and we had neighbors literally right next to us. The shower house consists of two toilet stalls, two shower stalls, and two sinks. The men's has a wash tub along with it's two sinks. Unfortunately the shower house could use some updating. The floor was always soaked due to the water from the showers. The shower stalls are really dark. There were some little lights stuck to the walls but they didn't work. They needed to be cleaned more as well. The trash was always overflowing and the floors were covered in sand (a downfall of having a beach but no outdoor washing station). On the bright side there was always plenty of hot water every time we used the showers. The beach was small but seemed to be clean. The views from the shoreline were beautiful! I wished I would have gotten a sunset picture because it was a perfect setting. We were instructed to put the trash out by 9am every morning for pick up. From what we could tell that was our only choice, there wasn't any where for us to take it. The beginning of our stay they seemed to have been lacking a trash person to pick it up. There was an open bag of trash that sat at the entrance of the bathroom for over 24 hours. Same thing at many of the sites. One bag was ripped apart by seagulls. That only lasted the first couple days and then they came through every morning at 9. Firewood and ice were available whenever you needed it. They had a pay box to deposit money if the office was closed. The game room does not match the picture online at all. Maybe they are in the process of adding new things but it was pretty much empty when we were there. Only some seating, some electronic games, and a jukebox. If this is an important point of your stay I'd call ahead and see if they have updated it yet. Overall it wasn't a bad stay. What you get for the price......I don't know that it's a great deal on that account. The location was what drew us here to begin with. It's in a GREAT location for the central and eastern part of the UP. read more

While the photos look nice on line.....and when you call you get 'friendly' service...BEWARE! I called 2 weeks in advance for a site.....they told me I had to put a $30 hold for the reservation...so I did. I even asked if it was refundable and was told yes, by Ken. Several days before we were to arrive, our truck broke down and we were not able to go camping. I called with over 48 hours notice, told them what happened and asked for the refund....he said sure....NEVER got it back!!!!!! I called for a week straight and all I got was an answering machine....and they never returned my calls. They must really be desperate to keep $30 and risk losing a customer, and I can assure you I plan on telling everyone I know, NOT to camp here read more

We stayed at Log Cabin Resort & Campground last weekend. It was our 1st trip in the U.P. beyond St. Ignace. Log Cabin Resort & Campground totally met my expectations. I expected an old cabin in the U.P. that is pretty basic. That's what it is. They have quite a few to choose from, ranging in size and amenities. We stayed in White Pine. My cousin-in-law and her friend stayed in Dogwood. If we came here again, I'd probably choose Dogwood. White Pine was fine. The open windows were nice, however the bathroom and bedrooms were super tiny. If you're a bigger person, you won't fit between the toilet and the sink. It was tight! Each bedroom had a double bed, so we snuggled quite a bit. If it were hot, that wouldn't be happening. The website says this cabin has a flat screen TV. It does not. It has the tiniest TV I've seen in a long time. They supply linens on a lot of the cabins, but we brought our own. Their stuff is pretty old. Dogwood was a bit bigger. The bathroom and bedrooms were bigger. It had a great view of the water. The layout was very open and got a good breeze. Both cabins are right on the road to the water, so there is a bit of foot traffic. It was a little challenging with our dogs. There are "suites" which are bigger cabins on the water. They are literally steps away. These cabins on the water have been there since the 1930's. You can't build this close to the water anymore. Bill was very nice. He checked on us a few times, asked us if we needed anything. There were a few bees getting into our cabin, and he brought us some spray. They had just sprayed outside, so that is why we were getting half dead bees in the cabin. No big deal. It resolved quickly. They have wood and ice, which you pay based on the honor system. Totally chill up here! The grounds are well taken care of. If you have a camper, this seems like a really good spot. The property is huge. They have a play area for kids, horseshoes, basketball net/court, and volleyball sand pit. They also rent golf carts, boats, a pontoon boat, and bikes. They have a laundry room, showers, and water available. The beaches are small. They have one for dogs. It was very quiet and peaceful. We were the rowdy ones for a change! For the price, this place was just right. read more

We stayed here and I just wasn't a fan. The campsite was small. Our fire pit was behind and pretty much on the next site over. Defiantly didn't feel comfortable sitting at the campfire after I put the kids to bed cause I couldn't see my camper front door from the fire pit. All the staff we dealt with where extremely friendly. I was only in the bathroom once (cause I had my camper) and it was clean when I was in there. The swimming beach was extremely small. The WiFi was spotty but I blame that on being up north in the middle of nowhere not the campgrounds fault. read more

Let me start out by pointing out the cool things about this campground because this is NOT a resort. I love that it is secluded and on a beautiful lake. They do offer a complimentary paddle boat, laundry facility, firewood and ice, rumored to have "Clean Restrooms", wifi, cable television, the cabins have a full sized kitchen, some have full baths while others have just a half, beautiful views, built in fire pits, and the ladies in the office are nice. Now for everything else... "The Beautiful Lake" - So the lake is in fact beautiful and has amazing sunsets that you can watch on a wooden swing; however, the beach is not clean and the shore is climbing with leeches. But get out towards the middle and you will be fine. If you are a fisherman, this campground does offer you a place to clean your fish that is about the size of a small cabin, and is fully enclosed so you can do your business through out any kind of weather. I am not a fisherman but thought it was cool. "Complimentary Paddle Boat" - The paddle boat is not operational, there is a plug missing which causes the boat to take on water so it is not safe to use. "Laundry Facility" - I did not use it, nor was I interested in locating it so hopefully it is clean and beautiful. "Firewood & Ice" - I do not know the price for either of these but my brother-in-law did purchase some and said you could find it around town for cheaper, but I will say it is convenient. "Clean Restrooms" - UM.....UM.....UM.....I did not find the rumored clean restrooms, the showers were disgusting, someone left there shampoo and soap in the shower stall with the window, the lights on the wall seemed to be battery operated and the switch did not work. So you may have to shower in the dark. Heads up, the shower is either too cold or scalding hot. When someone flushes the toilet, step away from the water as you will feel affects shortly after the flush. "Wifi" - WONDERFUL!!! I would have been lost without it! Thank you for that!! I will warn that it was not the fastest so do not expect to stream movies or anything like that, it is great for checking up on social media, emails, and to locate fun activities in the area, or places to explore. "Cable TV" - I did not watch this more than one night, this was cool, but no remote. The cabin was adorably rustic with a full sized kitchen, full sized fridge, gas range full sized oven, microwave, fully stocked kitchen, even had a toaster!!! The bathroom was adequate but I would highly recommend that you hold the lever down until all the water empties out of the bowl or you will swear the toilet is clogged. Two of my sisters and their families rented campsites I believe 43 and 42, I was in the Cypress Cabin, but their sites had a huge wasps nest directly above in a tree so you could not safely hangout at their spaces, we asked the maintenance guy before Monday that we needed it removed and he never bothered to remove it resulting my 6 year old nephew in the face and one of my sisters as well. Obviously I am not a camper, but I feel that if you are claiming to be a resort, be a resort, the game room had games with missing pieces, the jukebox was not working. I would have given this place 3 stars but since 2 of my family members were injured due to the negligence of the staff, they barely deserve 2 stars. We planned to stay here for a week. I gave them a 49 day notice, I have to have total knee replacement, offered them a letter even from my surgeon and out of the $188.00 deposit these jerks only refunded us $94.00 because they require 60 day notice. Obviously this place is very very desperate. We were going to re-book next year for a week NOT now. They are crooks. We have stayed in St Ignace for past 15 yrs even the hotels only require a 72 hr notice. And I had a valid reason for cancelling. We stayed at Log Cabin Resort & Campground for 8 days. The site and amenities were exactly as we expected. Manistique Lake is a perfect setting for relaxing. We did have to run out and buy a longer TV cable cord, but that was our bad, not theirs. The sites with full water, sewer, and electric were larger than most full-hook up sites we've been in, and also included a large area behind with a fire ring for our use. The beach is small, but the availability for renting their boats was a nice bonus. Check these rentals early though as the pontoon boat we were going to rent was already booked for the week. Check their website for all the other amenities and extras they have available, especially for families with children. Everything is just as pictured. Bill, their #1 man, was especially helpful during our stay. He worked hard to keep the camp clean, supplied, and everyone happy. LCR&C is a great central location for exploring the Upper Peninsula. We explored all 4 corners from Munising to Manistique, from White Fish Point to St. Ignace & Mackinac Island, and everything in between...nothing more than an hour & 15 min away. We were able to see all 3 Great Lakes. Relaxing every morning and evening at Camp was the icing on the U.P. cake! read more

I just spent 4 days at Log Cabin Resort & Campground. I can NOT recommend this as a vacation destination. Sad part about my experience is that two years ago it was a nice campground. Amazing how fast poor management/owners can destroy a campground. Management/Owner appeared intoxicated while addressing camper issues. Extremely threatening to campers. Reservations messed up - could not find reservations. Showers and bathroom NASTY ~ not cleaned in 4 days. Fire pit full to top with ashes. Family in cabins extremely upset about conditions of cabins. Family in Cabin told at check in to kept all food in the fridge so the mice do not get it. I felt extremely threatened by their bizarre violent behavior I witnessed. Terrible!!!!!
