I stayed in Adoba Naubinway and had one of the best nights of sleep in a very long time. Their beds are amazing. The hospitality and food for breakfast was outstanding. I'll be staying in Adoba Naubinway every time we travel US 2 to enjoy the upper peninsula Michigan. The pier near by and shoreline is the best. They were very gracious when asking for an additional half hour check out time... saying "no problem"! Thanks to the owners for making this a very special place! read more

Pet friendly! I stopped in for a night while passing through town. My room was small but clean and comfortable. I did have an issue with getting my shower to run hot water but the issue was fixed immediately. Easy check in. Staff were friendly and helpful. If your looking for food check out Cove Bar. Do not make the mistake I did. I saw a few negative reviews, and more good than bad, so we booked this MOTEL. Make no mistake, it is a MOTEL, not a HOTEL as the name suggests, and it is a 'dive' motel at that. This is clearly a bait-and-switch situation. The picture in the listing makes it look like these are little cottages. They are NOT. We booked 2 nights and upon our arrival, we immediately contacted a hotel representative by text message to report how awful this room was. The carpeting was sticky, the walls were dirty, especially in the bathroom with very bad drywall repairs. The room smelled bad when we walked in, and there was a cigarette burn in the curtain of this non-smoking room. There was no hot water for a shower, and the bathtub faucet was cracking off the wall. The baseboard heater around the perimeter of the room was broken and falling off, leaving sharp edges and a hazard, although someone had attempted to secure it to the wall with duct tape. There was a thick layer of dust in several places. Everything felt so gross to us that we brought in our own clean sheet to place over the sheets on the bed. We asked for a full refund, but we were told we had to start that process through Hotels.com/Expedia. However, Expedia was unable to reach the owner (how convenient!) so Expedia could not issue us a refund. We reached out to the representative of the owner again, and never heard back from anyone authorized to refund us what we paid. read more

Stayed here twice and it just keeps getting worse. Super tiny rooms, took hours for the heat to warm the room up so we could take off our coats. No outlets to speak of. If you want to charge your phone you need to unplug the fridge. The hot water took forever to warm up and then the water pressure was horrible. Giant turd in the toilet when we got there that took 3 flushes to get rid of. The staff is literally non existent. You book online and get a text telling you what room to go too. I get the impression that the rooms are never locked. Be careful in the parlor because they don't know how to use salt to get rid of ice. read more

Had a great experience here. Originally had a double queen but we ended up staying in the family/ADA suite with adjoining room. Certainly suited the needs of our 4 adult, 2 kid party. Staff was friendly and everything was ready before we arrived. No issues parking our trailer there either as we had come to do some riding and fishing on different days. Each room had a microwave and small fridge. Looked newly renovated and the beds were fine. We would stay here again. read more

So I wanted to like this place based on the reviews, but the best word I can come up with to describe it is adequate. I originally reserved a "cabin", which turned out to be the tiniest room and tiniest bathroom I've ever seen for a hotel. It is also just one of two rooms rentable in a separate tiny "cabin" off the main motel. This is a motel and those are not cabins. The bed also looked smaller yet still managed to take up much of the small room. It also smelled like mildew. So I went back to the front desk and inquired about the sizes of the bed and room and explained how much smaller they were and not what we expected based on the website, especially for the $109 (plus tax) price tag. The man at the desk seemed to get less pleasant with me and almost begrudgingly showed me a different room and mumbled something about my "generation". He gave us a larger room, which I accepted and appreciated. This room also smelled of mildew, but we needed a place to stay so this was it. There were spiders and spider webs throughout the room and dead gnats on the sink counter right next to the coffee cups. The shower took a good 5 minutes or so to even get up to a slightly warm temp and then suddenly got scalding. Water pressure was good though, but bottom of the tub had seen better days and was stained a brown color. The towels were very soft, but at the same time a little mildewy as I feel they may have been sitting a while. The beds were very soft and cozy and appeared clean upon inspection. Everything in the room looked dated and as though it was in need of repair, with the exception of the bed which looked newer and stamped with the Adoba logo. The spa (read two hot tubs) was originally down for cleaning, but when I seemed disappointed the man at the reception desk said he would turn them back on and have them ready for us by 6:30 that evening. We did use the hot tubs and they were quite relaxing although I did need to get towels ahead of time as when I checked before we used the facility there was only one towel. They do have a fitness area in the same room as the hot tubs with a bike, elliptical, treadmill and some weights. We didn't use the fitness area so I can't speak to the functionality of the equipment. The wifi was very hit or miss and only half the time did our devices connect and you had to stand in a very specific spot. Once connected (if you are so lucky), the Internet is about the average for hotels as far as speed. We were told that breakfast hours were only between 8-10am in the main house. That is very late for breakfast. read more

We needed a room in the area for a quick unplanned overnight stay. We made a reservation on line and requested a late check in due to the nature of our trip. We would be travelling in a big truck and needed to accommodate parking. The staff called me promptly after they received the reservation and made arrangements for parking and the late arrival. Major yuck! The room was dark and dingy and smelled musty. There was a filthy wall unit air conditioner and dirty wall coverings. Even though we had already paid for the room, we simply could not fathom staying there. We drove on to St. Ignace and stayed in a nice, clean and well appointed Holiday Inn Express. read more

I needed a clean, affordable place to stay while working on a real estate deal--I definitely found it at the Adoba Hotel. The owners are wonderful and live on site. The rooms are super clean and quiet even with its proximity to US-2. I have spent ten nights in three different rooms (during three trips, over a five week period) and each room was a great place to spend the night. Breakfast was wonderful too! I plan on staying there again and will have family members stay there when they are in town. You cannot go wrong with this Hotel. BTW...I don't normally leave reviews, however; I felt compelled to do so because the experience was so positive. read more

Since it was too expensive to stay in Mackinac for the 4th of July, that led me to the tiny town of Naubinway. The reviews were positive everywhere i looked so that clinched it. We stayed in one of the cabins. It was functional, had a kitchen (loaded with dishes and everything) and even a flat panel TV with HBO. WiFi? Yep. Only two gripes. The bathroom was TINY. I mean it was so tight to shower or use the toilet. The other was the hot water would fluctuate between ungodly hot and ice cold. I suspect its a tankless heater and they can be flaky. The good: Rooms are clean. Parking is easy. The beds are super comfy. Hot tub nearby? Yep. Want to shoot hoops? Grab that ball. The best part: Real hot breakfast every morning complete with fresh fruit, juice, yogurt, and the usual other stuff. Just think, that breakfast saves time/money in the AM not having to look for a restaurant. The staff is friendly and attentive. Definitely would stay again. read more
