I wanted to go to this salon because a girl I know told me she goes here, and her nails always look fire!! I've been shopping around at a few salons after getting tired of my usual, and decided to call and see if D&N accepted walk-ins. This was about an hour and a half before close on a Monday night. They said yes and I informed them I would be there in 10 minutes. The parking was minimal and a bit confusing, but I managed to find a spot right in front of the building on the street. Upon arrival, I was seated right away and assisted by an older woman. I got an acrylic fill by her, with a cut down, and was shaped to perfection! I love a clean coffin nail. We didn't speak much, but I don't mind a quiet nail technician as it's my time to relax. She was also intermittently assisting another client seated next to me, but that's pretty common in a nail salon, especially towards close, and I was still serviced efficiently so it wasn't a bother. I was soon switched over to another technician, a young man, to do my design and any finishing details. I showed him a design I considered pretty difficult, and he was joking with me to trust him. I'm glad I did! He took his time redoing the design over and over again until he got it perfect. I love my nails and so do strangers on the street!! He was very kind, gentle, and kept easy conversation. I do wish I had gotten my cuticles cut, and I'm used to getting a nice little hand massage afterwards with my former salon. But I'm starting to believe that all salons require a sacrifice of some sort! Overall, for $33, I am in love with D&N nails and they just potentially earned themselves a new loyal customer!! I live in Westfield but the drive is completely worth a bomb set of nails. read more

I've come to this salon a few times now, and for the most part have been pleased with my experience. The one service I LOVE here and will always go here for is the pedicures. They're thorough, relaxing, and they do a fantastic job with shaping and the actual painting. I've always gotten gel nailpolish on my toes and this current pedicure has lasted me almost 6 weeks! So great. I've also done a variety of the manicures offered here. I've done a gel manicure, dip manicure, and extensions. Overall, I've been very pleased with the outcome. The staff are generally very easy to communicate with, and adapt to my requests for things to be fixed or changed during the process. There are two reasons for 4 stars instead of 5: 1. They don't have a huge selection of dip powder colors, and as it's my favorite technique, I struggle with that. 2. One time I went, and a technician I'd never seen before was going to work on my nails. I wanted my acrylics removed so that I could receive a gel manicure on my own nails. I'm someone who never has long, or strong nails, so it meant a lot to me to have my own nails at a point where I wanted them done with no tips. This technician began lifting my acrylics with another extension! I kept having to stop him and asking someone else to help me because he wasn't understanding and continued to rip off my acrylics. Finally, after about 3 nails had been taken off, the owner came over and she was able to explain to him that I wanted my nails soaked off (which I thought was standard practice). I was recommended D and N nails salon by a friend. So I went in to get a full set of acrylics. I was greeted right as I walked in the door and had an amazing experience the whole time. Everyone was extremely friendly and helpful. John was the nail technician that did my nails. He was very precise and did an amazing job. They will double book nail techs at the same time, take walkins before your appt, you will literally wait 40 mins to a hour without even being talked to. When you have an actual appointment! Since my favorite nail tech Sandy left the treatment there is awful, there hasn't been a single appointment where there isn't drama. I wanted long and skinny nails, simple. And she clearly applied way too much product and they came out chunky. And my middle nail did not come out straight. And I told her as she was doing them and I still paid $45 for this. The youngest woman there did them. Maybe the older man and woman are good but unfortunately I did not have them. read more

So I usually don't post poor/bad reviews, but a few things have been brought to my attention I cannot look past. Since getting my nails done here, I came in around 6 knowing they closed around 7:30, so I felt bad, I don't usually go anywhere late so they don't rush. I got a fill and a pedicure. My pedicure was done by the male, he did a pretty good job, except he scraped done the skin so much on my big toe that it's extremely sensitive and hurts now, it almost feels comparable to a bad rug burn. The colors I chose, must've not been good because they took nearly 3 coats to be vibrant & after painting my toes they just don't look pretty. My hands on the other hand, we drilled down the coffin shape I had so a cut down to a nice square shape. His wife did my hands, she did a good job, but seems frustrated because he started my nails and was taking an extremely long time. My pedicure was a very long time as well. She filed my nails and filled them. But, little did I know, she was unable to design them. I believe she could've painted them simple but couldn't produce the design I asked for and assumed I didn't want one. Her niece, was unfriendly and wanted to leave. I get it, it was late, you just had a ton of customers. But, I was one of them. I came in with well over enough to tip all 3 of you, to thank you for taking good care of me, but instead she was aggravated she had to stay and do a design her aunt couldn't do. Unfortunately, I've been trying different salons locally, and the treatment here just made me uncomfortable. She was snippy and frustrated, right after she was done she jetted out the door, but i feel like efficiency could've been made in both the pedicure and fill part of me getting my nails done. My designs are cute, pretty, and I actually like them, but the service itself was enough for me not want to go back. Aside from the staff. The gentleman who was working there, was hawking up phlegm in the trashes and sinks that customers wash their hands in. At first I got nervous and thought he was vomiting, but he was spitting and coughing up phlegm so loud, he waited until it was only myself in the salon. Not only is this completely unsanitary and offensive, it's against health code. I was completely disgusted and wanted to leave right then and there. I had called on a Friday to schedule 4 manicures for The following Monday for 6pm. There were only a few staff members doing nails. We were told only one appointment was scheduled when I called, though I specified multiple times on the phone it was for 4 people. Only three out of the 4 members in our group got manicures due to time and not enough staff. I got a regular manicure. It started to chip a few days later, so I took the polish off and there are now actual dents in my fingernails from where the polish was. It was a regular manicure, not a gel, so I didn't have to soak the polish off. I have never had this happen to my nails with regular or gel polish. and now they just look awful. I don't think I will be going back to this nail salon. I am usually one to brush things off and just say things happen, but it was just not a great experience. I am sure people go to this salon often and have great service, but our service was not the best. read more

So while this isn't the fanciest nail salon I have ever been in, I most certainly got the BEST customer service. I came here after a lazy ass nail technician at Royal Nails in West Springfield named Kevin ROYALLY f'd up my nails. I didn't know to what extent until I came to D&N and sat with Tran. My gel was lifting from the nail bed because so much air was left probably when dude was rushing me out of his chair. Tran explained and confirmed my concerns. The other guy had cut into my natural nail when he had done my last fill. My nail bed was so raw. In any case, Tran was kind and gentle enough to save my natural nail and basically gave me a new full set for the price of a fill. He was informative and I greatly appreciated the time he took to save my nails! I am so grateful to him. I also got a pedicure and while I don't remember the young ladies name she did awesome. Again this is not a fancy place but they care about their customer satisfaction which to me is far more valuable. read more
