    Just left with my meal
    Anthony S.

I'm working up here in Bethlehem, PA and there aren't many African American spots for me to try. The guy at the front desk of my hotel suggested D & S and it was literally a 10 minute drive from the hotel. My wife and I love Caribbean food so this was a no brained that I'd give them a try. It's a small little restaurant that you probably would pass by everyday if you didn't know what it was. So my coworker and I got off work and decided to check them out. We greeted by three women who were very nice and had smiles on all their faces. I opted for the small jerk chicken platter with Mac n cheese and cabbage and a large oxtail platter with greens and rice and peas(one for after work and the other for dinner). It took about 10 minutes to get our food which was not a problem. It didn't matter if it took 30 minutes, I was gonna wait. Soon as I got to my room I opened the jerk platter and the aroma filled the room. The meat was so tender and moist, cooked to perfection. The cabbage was flavorful and I loved that there were green/yellow/red peppers in it as well. Rice and peas from Caribbean spots never changes so it was just rice and peas to me. The first bite of the chicken I knew this was going to be delicious. I tore that chicken up! And the cabbage was devoured within minutes. I couldn't get enough. My only complaint is I wish the jerk was a lot more spicy. I love spice and great spicy jerk but it didn't take away from how flavorful the chicken was. Later that night I ate my oxtail platter and it was delicious as well! I was not disappointed. With the large platter they could give a bit more oxtail, maybe 2-3, but I know oxtail prices have gone up so I wasn't going to complain. The gravy was immaculate! It was so flavorful they could bottle it up and sell it as a drink lol. And the Mac and cheese was cooked like it was thanksgiving. I also had a beef patty and coco bread. Beef patty was good, meaty and packed flavor. And of course the coco bread felt like a soft, heavy pillow. These ladies know what they are doing in the kitchen. This was my second time here and as long as I am working here, I plan to eat here at least once per week.

I would give 4.5. The food is amazing and fresh and they are nice! The $5 mac and cheese is small and the older appearing sister is cheap on how much food she puts in the plates whereas the other one makes a plate like she is making it for her own family. We've tried the curry goat, jerk chicken, stew chicken and oxtails and was not disappointed. The jerk chicken is spiaccy and they give a bbq sauce that is yum! If you don't like over seasoned, salty collard greens- get there's! You can sit and eat and they are also stocked on drinks and the beef pattie with cheese and cocoa bread was chefs kiss! The best I've ever had

The best Caribbean restaurant anywhere in the Pennsylvania & New Jersey area. The food is outstandingly delicious!

Whether you order the Oxtails with Rice & Peas or the Jerk Chicken or Pork, Curry Goat or Shrimp, Rasta Pasta, Ackee and Salt Fish and much more, you will taste the authentic flavors of the beautiful Isle of Jamaica, as though you were there. And don't forget ordering their homemade bread pudding. And the whole eating area is exceptionally clean.

FYI - I am from NYC. I've been to Jamaica, all over.. from home-cooked meals to resort/restaurant…read morefood... I love Jamaican cuisine. I came to Bethlehem PA to visit a few brothers. I wanted them to get out the box and find me some good food that is not from a pizzeria, WaWa's, GIANT Supermarket, etc. We settled on....... JAMAICAN! "Yes!", I thought. But, tbh, I wasn't expecting much out here. But boy, I was proven wrong with Cherry's Caribbean Palace: - Curry Goat: Soft, tender, hearty, healthy meat. It was cooked perfect. Not gamy or chewy, but exactly what you'd expect when you think curry goat. Perfect, mild, yellow, Jamaican curry style flavor. - Curry Chicken: You know Cherry's is authentic by how to they chop up the chicken. Bones and meat - it's not a thoughtless dish. You have to work at it, but so worth it. Doesn't seem like it's those hormone-pumped, farm raised chicken. Again with perfect, mild, Jamaican curry flavor. Not too spicy at all. - Jerk Chicken: Fire, in the traditional island jerk sense. Made a few of us sweat. Healthy, meaty portions. Skin was perfectly cooked with the jerk. It wasn't falling apart, like other places. - Jerk Pork: It's jerk, but you can taste the Jamaican pork, 'bbq' aspect, if you know what I mean. It has a, imo, a bit of tangy hint. Which is why I rate it Delicious. - The beef patties: oh man, the beef patties. The ground meat inside was not liquified (think pizzeria beef patties), and it wasn't dry crumbs (think supermarket fast food beef patties). It was top notch. You can tell because Cherry's cook their beef patties with a little slit/hole on the top of the patty (I assume they do this because they know how they want to cook the meat inside). Frickin' loved the beef patties. - Oxtail: the meat itself was quality; not full of ligaments or fatty parts. It wasn't dry and overcooked. It was perfectly made. And the sauce, ooh, the sauce. It's not like how other restaurants would use the same kind of base & spices, but at Cherry's, they have a specific oxtail sauce that is distinct, and quite lovely. - Everything came with rice and peas (great consistency, soft, but not watery or clumpy), perfect balance for all the spicy entrees above. - Everything came with cooked cabbage (fresh, crunchy, and not slimy) - Everything came with sweet plantains (ripe & sweet with a little tinge) Call ahead to order! Much better to work with them direct - not Uber eats! They are good people. When picking up. The gentlemen let us know that they'd bring the food out to our car. It might look like a 'hole in the wall' (no offense), BUT IT'S THE REALEST FOOD. It made me and my boys' stomachs very happy. Thank you Cherry's.. we're definitely going to be a good, repeat customer.

We're a (mostly) Indian family, so we're flavour fanatics, and most of us are pretty well-traveled. My uncles are the type to go hunt down "the best" of any dish in whichever city they're in, so I felt some pressure picking the food for the first event I was ever hosting at my place. Winston's didn't fail me. Everyone ate past full, and leftovers went quick. It's not the sort of place you go to sit down & eat, but totally go grab something to pig out on for a family dinner, movie night, random craving... The portions are amazing, too - I over-ordered for sure even though we had more people than chairs here. Great value, drool-worthy food. The smell will kill you on the drive home. My favorite is the goat curry; the husband LOVES the jerk chicken.

As far as his food, it taste spectacular, but the portion control is left to be desired. I purchased oxtails, which I understand is an expensive meat, but the portion I received was skimpy and I felt I could've got a little more on my plate for that price, but the taste was spot on. I also ordered some stew chicken which was really good and the portion size was pretty decent. Would I go back? absolutely maybe not for oxtails due to the portion size, but the other food was very good. The Customer Service was amazing. Mr. Winston was great with educating us on the various Foods that he sold and the culture that came behind it. The ambience of the restaurant was nice very relaxing and gave off the ambience is also very nice. Very welcoming and inviting again if I'm ever in the area, I surely will check this place

Everything good I want to say about this place would be an understatement! My boyfriend (he's Chilean) and I came in starving and by simply smelling the food we knew we're in for the real deal. We ordered a beef empanada, a green plantain tamale, and baked chicken and roasted pork with yellow rice and beans. The meat was moist, perfectly spiced, and so dang delicious! The pork skin was perfectly crisp with a juicy layer of fat underneath. We also got flan and tres leches. Tres leches is my favorite but I didn't even know I like flan. My boyfriend loved the mango juice!!! Finally just blended mangoes and not some store bought juice made from a concentrate. What makes this place even better is the Spanish music and a welcoming owner who chatted with all customers. The entire restaurant got into a conversation at some point too! This is something you rarely find in the US - the feeling of being truly welcomed. We really enjoyed talking to William. I haven't had such a great meal since Christmas when I went back home to Croatia for the holidays. I am already looking forward to stopping here in a month on my way back from a conference.

I did a Yelp search and this place popped up. I prayed that it was authentic cause... you know how things can get misconstrued. I was so afraid that this would again be some gross ethnic improvisation of a small town meal... well, as I live & breathe, it wasn't. It was authentic. The servers were authentic, thecooks, the food, the music... they even spoke Spanish. I felt like I found the promise land. I was stuck in a land of salt (no pepper), and then just like that...I Christopher Columbus'd La Isla de cilantro! Aye! The food is amazing... Notice I said "the food". I can't wait to come back and I will be ordering a large (instead of a small) of the chicken soup. The meals are reasonably priced. So service.... I suggest you carry out. I, however ate in and my service would have been better had I gone this route. Ask for the menu at the front. Order there AND pay there, then have a seat. Don't expect anyone to check up on you thereafter. Just eat and leave because they are busy at the front. The mistake I made was not paying outright. I had hoped someone would come to my table with a check... it didn't happen so I went to the front with all the take out orders and they rung me up there.
