The vendor was very nice and knowledgeable about her product. She can answer any questions you may have. There is a variety of scent combinations and she has other products besides soap . There are also many other vendors at the indoor location through the winter months, and I would encourage anyone in the area to stop by if they value organic produce and supporting local business . The products are all very fresh and of good quality, although I could not speak for the holiday market vendors because they are only gonna be here for two consecutive weekends and I do not know them well . I guess it depends what you're looking for apart from Food. There is a program that gives you some extra spending credits. If you are on snap benefits, or certain other programs so you should go to the website for the market and find out about that. They exchange your card, benefits for wooden nickels , good for any food product , or little green coins that are only good for produce. There are usually two or three different bakeries, including Brimfield oven . A coffee vendor, and at least one seller of free range meat. Her products are frozen, of course. There were a couple people who have free range eggs. There is a dizzying array of vegetables available, and the vendors can tell you more than you ever thought to ask about any of them . You will probably find some new favorites like daikon, radishes, and Mizuna greens. There are multiple colors of carrots and beets, as well as different varieties of radish and turnip. The hard thing is not to overspend because your eyes are bigger than your stomach . and I will also say that because you are getting organic produce, you can eat the greens on everything on the counter: carrot tops and beet greens and radish or turnip greens(google that if you don't believe me, these are all edible,) ... as well as the usual kale and cabbage and chard. There are vegetarian and vegan options as well as sellers of mushrooms and mushroom tincture , house plants, maple syrup, and honey, barbecue sauce, donuts, pasta. Prepared Mediterranean food. Friendly vendors, not what I really expected at a farmers market. The variety of flowers were wonderful, the vegetables were a bit high in price, no fruit which was quite a bummer. The location under a bypass, and mural was creative and nice to see. I guess if your looking for fruits and a better selection, with not as many vendors, I was told there a few other spots for farmers markets to check out. read more

How did it take me seven years of living nearby to go here?!? Saying this is just a farmers market is way understating the situation. They have a ton of stands with locally roasted coffee, local meats for your freezer (or to cook fresh), bakeries, food stands, fruits, veggies, fabric goods, brick oven pizza and more. They also had a combo playing music. The entire thing is so representative of the city of Kent and I loved it. Community, local people supporting local goods, and all around friendly. It's almost more of a festival than a farmers market. Bring the family (including your dog!) and hang out for the morning. Don't forget reusable tote bags for all of your goodies. read more

A great variety of items here once again, but stay for the good food. I came here to see what was available for the season, and lo and behold I thought I had been able to find some things. I ended up getting some green peppers which were amazing, and some kettle corn and some delicious spinach cheese and artichoke tomato bread. The bread was amazing I ended up cutting it up into small slices and using them for sandwiches, which everybody loved. There was this small stand for pure unprocessed honey called From Bees To You which was some of the best tasting honey I ever had. read more

When I moved to Kent, I was a bit apprehensive. As much as people sometimes complain about Cleveland, the city has much to offer. I did most of my "grocery shopping" at the West Side Market and was sad to move so far away from this wonderful convenience. Lucky for me, Kent has a great little (really, really little) farmers' market that supplies lots of fresh goodies to the locals. Haymaker Farmers' Market is fairly petitie. While I've never counted, I'd say there are about 25 vendors at the market (most are there every week, others come and go). There's plenty of fresh produce available every week, and unlike the West Side Market, you know that everything sold at Haymaker is locally grown. While most of the produce vendors can't call themselves "organic" officially, most of them are organi in practice, but can't afford to pay the government's fees to get the official designation. I always ask the vendors if they use pesticides, and very few do. I like my produce to be bug-approved, not shelf-stable for 5 months. In addition to fresh produce, many vendors offer freshly baked goods. One of my favorites sells fresh breads of the sweet variety. Her pumpkin bread is to die for. Her business doesn't have a name, otherwise I;d tell you what it is. She's just a home baker with a knack for delicious breads. Other vendors sell freshly baked cookies, scones, savory breads, gluten-free goodies, and vegan-goodies. There are also cheese vendors, a jam/jelly vendor, a vendo who sells fresh dips such as hummus and salsa, a knife-sharpener, a pierogi vendor, and the list goes on and on. Market day has become my favorite day of the week because there are just so many great foods to enjoy. Oftentimes there's also live music, hot coffee, and booths with things especially for the kiddies you might have in tow. The Market operates on Saturdays from 9am until 1pm and runs from May through October. Some vendors provide home delivery during the off-months and there's talk that some vendors are trying to find an alternate location for the colder months! I'm keeping my fingers crossed! read more

This is a smaller farmers market, but it's really good. Organic options available and everyone is friendly! This farmers market is outdoors and located underneath the bridge in Kent, by KSU. Emily's Soaps, Ohio City Pasta, Wolfe Farms, and so much more. Worth stopping in at least once. read more

It's not big, but there are a lot of interesting things here. This farmer's market is spread out along the railroad tracks/river in Kent. Under the bridge. Here I found really cheap but pretty pumpkins, good cider, Posh Pierogies (worth the drive from Cleveland!) and some homemade hummus. I actually like this alot better than the West Side Market or the Shaker Square farmer's market as it was not too crowded. Both of the above make you feel like cattle and the prices seem much higher. It's easier to see the wares when the stands are not so crowded close together. I couldn't not believe how cheap all the veggies were here! Go Kent! read more

Just wanted to give a shout out to the Busy B Bakery stand, which sells at both the summer and winter versions of this market. It was my good fortune to discover Busy B today. You can't miss pastry chef and owner Marissa Mathews, as she wears fun bee antennae to go along with her "B" theme. She had a nice table full of reasonably priced home-produced goodies, including salted caramel brownies, and a variety of individually wrapped cookies. The chocolate chip and oatmeal coconut chocolates were superior--soft, fresh, and delicious. Her business also includes special order cakes and treats, and we took her card to call upon for future special occasion needs. It seems that she can also make things to suit different diets (offering vegan options, but not sure about gluten free). It is such a pleasure to support small businesses like these, especially when the quality of the product is so superior to the generic mass produced kind of baked goods that many grocery stores usually carry. read more
