I saw John from D&S Tree Service pruning a neighbors tree, I asked him if he could remove a dead tree for me, It turned out he had a cancellation for that afternoon so he was able to do it the same day. With very little notice D&S Tree showed up with numerous trucks and vehicles and about 5 workers. They quickly removed the dead tree, which was tangled in power and communications wires. They removed the stump and cleaned up the wood chips. They were respectful of my neighbors. So I cannot complain about anything. read more

DO NOT USE D & S Tree Service unless you want to have extreme hassle, damage to your property and an unfished job. I hired Doug Shortt to top a tree in North Vancouver. He gave me a quote and said it would take one day. He was here three separate times and did not finish the job. He also caused about $500 - $1,000 in damage to our glass patio cover from part of the tree hitting the wood framing. He promised over 10 times to come and complete the job. Unfortunately I trusted Doug and paid him in full on the last trip as he said he would come back in the morning. This was 3 months ago and he keeps promising to come back but never does with no shows. DO NOT HIRE THIS COMPANY UNLESS YOU WANT TO LOSE YOU MONEY. THEY ARE NOT TRUST WORTHY AND WILL NOT STAND BEHIND THERE WORK. read more

D&S did a LOT of work for us. They removed a row of 30 yr old arborvitaes, they removed dead limbs from our locust trees (some are 50 feet tall), they removed fallen trees, and they thinned/topped two very big maples. They ground all the stumps. They cleaned up very well. They were on time. Chris was good very responsive. The price was fair. I highly recommend D&S. read more

Upset is not even where to start. We started with a verbal agreement and that is my fault that I did not get something written bc when they came to do work.. they did less than what we originally agreed on. Then the worst part is they made such a mess. It is costing us over 2000 to fix the mess they made. They left huge pieces of wood chips, mounds of dirt, and wires. Let's add the cherry. When they first gave me the price they never mentioned there would be (plus tax). Making them actually the most expensive company. read more

The workers are the rudest people ever. Very disrespectful! They were cutting down trees in my neighbors yard and instead of lowering the chunks with rope like most companies, he let them fall loudly in my yard. When I came out to ask why he's letting heavy logs fall in my yard and possibly causing damage to my property, he told me nothing's broken and to kiss his ass. Then they were about to leave without cleaning up my yard. He was also nasty to my son and nasty to his workers. Horrible company!!! Unprofessional and disrespectful. Too many other tree companies out there to use them!! read more

This is definitely a business to use! Chris is honest and reliable! He took care of the stump exactly when he said he would. A different tree service (Joe's) would not return to grind the stump of the storm-uprooted tree that we paid them to remove! We told Chris of D & S what had happened and he did the job just as he said he would! Dependable! read more

Found this company on the Millstone community message board. Many people on the message people had great things to say. They did not disappoint. They were always very prompt in contacting me and on time for appointments. I had them remove 5 trees too close to my house, grind the stumps, and trim one 40-50' oak. I cannot believe the quality of their work. The trimmed tree looks completely refreshed. I have a lot more work for them to do and will definitely be giving them a call back. Needed to have a tree removed. Asked ahead of time if they needed to know where my sprinkler system was. They said not necessary. However, after the tree was removed and I went to put on my sprinkler system, guess what?? NOT WORKING. They have insurance but they are not responsible for damage they do to the area under the tree?????? Just cost me an additional $125.00 to have sprinkler system repaired. BUYER BEWARE read more
