So based on reviews and speaking with Dan Patton, I was happy with choosing Pampered Paws Hotel and Spa for my puppies which I've used on two occasions. They walk the puppies multiple times daily, let them play and socialize as well as the option to view your puppy via the web. In addition they do have a pick up service if you are unable to drop your puppies off. On both occasions when picking up my puppies they seem extremely happy and calm. They are Covid compliant. When I called to book an appt for my mini golden doodle's wash and cut, I spoke with Kelly. She was very nice and helpful in getting all of my information and finding a time for my dog that week. I met the owner Madeleine upon drop off. My doodle had a good amount of matting on her chest and back legs and I expressed how I didn't want her shaved and to try their best to keep her hair as long as possible. Madeleine was honest with me and said it's going to be hard to keep her hair long with such deep matting, but they would try their best. Upon pickup, I was pleasantly surprised to see that my girl's hair was still long and fluffy. It took about 2.5 hours which was the estimated time they told me. The price was also very fair for a mini golden doodle, $95. I've paid up to $180 for cuts that I didn't like as much as this one. When I first called to make the appointment the young lady was kind and accommodating and we discussed in detail the services I would like for my pup. Very simple - bath, trim, cut nails and brushing of the teeth. My appointment was set for 2:30. They called me around noon to ask if I could arrive at 1pm and I accommodated their schedule. The drive is 20 minutes each way for me. When I arrived the woman at the counter was extremely rude and hasty. Speaking to me with a mouth full of food. She didn't greet me and asked for my information by pointing at my dog (6lb Maltese) asking "who's this one?". When I gave her my pups name and confirmed my initial reservation was at 2:30 and I was called to arrive at 1pm she said "okay bath" and I confirmed the services that I agreed upon - while speaking she proceeded to interrupt me and was very rude. If there was some sort of misunderstanding between myself and the woman who made the reservation (which happens - we are all humans) - there are ways of clarifying without being rude. I don't know if this is how this location conducts business. But it is truly unprofessional and ugly for lack of a better word. I'm happy I didn't leave my dog there. Groomers need to understand - we are leaving our beloved dog in your hands, in your care! - how you present yourself is key! This woman gave this business a very poor image and name and I will be sure to express this experience with my community chat to prevent anyone else this complete waste of time. She had hurt her paw unrelated and missed about two weeks of day care. When I brought her back she literally ran to Jeff for kisses like an old friend. I appreciate he tells me how she does in day care. She has a lot of energy, and we've talked about giving her time outs when she needs to calm down. We have been bringing our pets to Pomona Animal Hospital for the past 9 years, and they truly…read morerecieve incredible care and undivided attention from all of the staff and the vets are just incredible!!!!! We moved from Rockland to NYC in 2010, and I dragged my heels trying to find a new vet for our babies. We stayed with Pomona Animal Hospital despite the long drive. Recently our we noticed our lab had a very distended stomach and we knew that he needed medical attention fast, so we called our new local vet and we were able to get in right away, so we took our lab to the new vet ( they were nice enough, but it just wasn't the same), they drew blood work and referred us to get an ultra sound ( it wasn't so easy to make an appointment but a little over a week later we got the appt- and a week after that we got the results...a mass that needs to be removed... A little inconclusive, so we had the report faxed to the new vet (who made the referral) and Pomona Animal Hospital-(mind you it was a Saturday afternoon) Dr. Puzio reviewed the notes and called me (we actually played phone tag) after hours to discuss the results) we decided to re do the ultra sound with Dr. Byman for that Wednesday (the new vet called me after my 2nd ultra sound was already completed) Needless to say we had surgery with Dr. Byman Thursday morning,and the two hospitals coordinated so beautifully and kept us in the loop the entire time. Now our boy is home and doing awesome!!! We have always had pets and they have never recieved such wonderful care as they have with Rockland Veternary, plus they take great care off the humans too! Thank you to Dr. Puzio, Dr. Byman, and all the wonderful staff at Rockland Veterinary!!iNo matter how far or near they are to you- it is so worth it to use them.
