    Sour Cherry Danish- Delic!!!!
    Drew B.

OMG, died and gone to bread heaven. This is the place where carbohydrate dreams are baked. We have grabbed Danish and Bread here twice. The pastries are Su Perb. Cheese Danish, Cherry or Blueberry. Had a delectable Almond Croissant. Light, crispy, moist! There are so many more options to choose from. Cinnamon twists cant wait to try them all "in moderation" haha. So many breads to available,A dozen?? We had the ciabatta for our picnic and then made incredible croutons with the rest. A sourdough loaf made great toast. And the winner was the Pumpernickel Rye. Dark mahogany brown, slightly sweet. Service is always polite and educated. Questions will be answered guiding you to winning selections. Would you like things sliced etc. I left my CC in the machine (No Beeping Reminder sad face emoji) but no one noticed and came looking for us at the coffee roasters. My fault but you hate it when it happens. There is plenty of seating inside and outside on the sidewalk. They have a full breakfast / brunch menu but I will never get past the breakfast breads and loaves to go.

D'Angelo Bakery (often called D'Angelo Bread) is a cherished, European-style artisanal bakery and cafe in downtown Santa Barbara known for its house-made breads, vibrant brunch scene, and cozy neighborhood vibe. Located just off State Street, it is a quintessential local favorite that combines casual elegance with the inviting aroma of fresh-baked goods. Their signature dish the Egg "Rose"--poached eggs on Kalamata olive toast with artichoke spread--is its most famous offering, even featured on the Food Network. While street parking can be tricky, there is a public parking lot nearby that offers the first 75 minutes for free.

Cute cafe in Downtown Santa Barbara! Got variety of pastries to choose from. If I got more time, I would definitely try their breakfast items. I only got a banana muffin and a ham and cheese croissant for quick bites. The service was pretty slow... the ratio of customer to staff is unbalanced, definitely need to hire more employees because everyone was running around the restaurant. The banana muffin was very fluffy and got the good sweet from banana and had some nuts on top which added the crunch! The ham and cheese croissant was buttery and stringy in a good way. It was warmed up. I can see myself eating it for a week straight!

Really cute café/ bakery with lots of pastries. We stopped by to get croissants and really loved the atmosphere too. The lady working there was super friendly and we might be back for a full breakfast there.

Such a cute place to grab a delicious bite! My first time here and I would definitely come back. Definitely popular among the locals, we were seated pretty quickly.

D'Angelo's food and service is always top notch. They have outdoor seating in a cute alley and tucked away from the hustle and bustle. They also have heaters for the outdoors which is cozy for those cooler mornings! The huevos rancheros are a favorite of mine. I've had plenty at various restaurants and they are unbeatable. The tortilla stays crispy throughout the meal and it's not an easy feat!

I was getting tired of the drinks/pasties at Dune, which was the closest coffee shop to my office when I was in SB. So I stopped by D'Angelo's one morning before work to see what they had. You will find this bakery on Gutierrez Street. Lot #12 next door is free for the first 75 minutes and then $3 per hour. There are some spots by the green-painted curb if you're doing pick-up only. Didn't spend too much time looking around, but I saw they have some seating indoors, outdoors by the sidewalk, and in the alley next to the building. They have a wide range of dishes in the morning like french toast, benedicts, and huevos rancheros to name a few. Their Egg Rose was featured by former Iron Chef Cat Cora on an episode of Food Network's "The Best Thing I Ever Ate" several years ago. It comes with two poached eggs, olive toast, and an artichoke spread. I didn't have time to order that, maybe next time! For lunch they have mostly sandwiches, soups, and sides. The bakery section has pastries, muffins, tarts, and other artisan breads. On the beverage menu they have your typical espressos, loose-leaf teas, and non-caffeinated drinks. I was disappointed with how dry the chocolate muffin was, considering I was here early before 8AM. It had a very coarse and dense texture to it. Latte was nothing to write home about either. Lacked creaminess. That being said, I would be open to coming back for brunch and trying their popular poached egg dish.

Very pretty coffee drink and very good

Good coffee but again penalizes lactose intolerant folks with heavy up charge o n plant based milks. However, they're clear about their prices on a latte with two shots thought need to show the non dairy milk price more clear The avocado toast is average. While they make their bread in house and it looks like they have a nice Kalamata olive bread, the bread for the avocado toast was just OK. The toast was cut into four sections with one tomato in the middle and a very hot jalapeño on the side. Nothing special on top. Avocado was slathered on the bread we split the avocado toast two of us as it was large Avocado toast was over $15.

Rip Off, don't bother. I'm fine spending money on high-quality food, but I feel taken when going to D'Angelos for breakfast. Their French toast + poached egg was one piece of thick bread barely soaked in egg wash. It was flavorless and supposed to come with 'real maple syrup.' There is no way this is authentic maple syrup from a tree. It was gross corn syrup, all for $20. Come on. For $20, the egg sandwich was a decent croissant and eggs with cheese. It was good, but $20 is outrageous. Go anywhere else in town and order food. I understand HCOL towns and running a business is challenging but gtfo. Every other breakfast I had in SB blew away this place.

A lot of indoor seating but we enjoyed our table outside, watching pedestrians on State St. and enjoying the beautiful scenery and architecture. We expected to wait to be seated but surprisingly it wasn't that busy. Order at counter and the food is brought to your table. As we waited, employee kindly gave us two free pastry samples, both delicious. All the baked goods I got to go I want again. Their scones are fabulous-slightly crunchy on the outside, light and fluffy on the inside. Their tea service which comes with champagne is pricey, I believe $75 per person. But interior is a perfect colorful and relaxed setting for tea. My tastebuds dream of coming back. Will be thrilled when I next indulge on their pastries and quiche.

There was only one person in line and 4 staff members behind the counter standing around talking to each other. Nobody greeted us or asked for our bakery order. When I said excuse me to a dirty blond girl she replied "WHAT!" and continued to joke with a co worker. When the cashier finished with their customer they walked away and even though they saw we were waiting to be helped. I looked around and saw nobody helping seated customers or us at the bakery counter. Finally, the dirty blonde ask what we need and my response was "WHAT" ?! At this point we should have left and gone to Lilac Patisserie however we proceeded to give her our order. I told another customer behind us that rudeness seems to be the norm, and she agreed. I paid for our bakery items and asked an older woman scrolling on her phone if we could have a bag for all of our boxed treats. She grabbed a handful of bags and threw them at me from across the counter. We were appalled and left. We found a place to sit on State street to eat our treats and my daughter said she didn't want her Meringue because the dirty blonde girl used the back of her ungloved hand to repeatedly wipe her nose. We threw all $50 worth of baked goods in the trash. Yes, I should have gone back and complained I'm had everything refunded but it was Mother's Day and we didn't want anything more to do with this establishment. It was also an epiphany that they don't treat everyone this way. It could be you next time. Please go somewhere else. We will never go to anywhere but Lilac Patisserie which is to the left as you exit Andersons, past the stop light. You will definitely get your money's worth and the staff is friendly, professional, and greet you immediately as you reach the counter.
