Stopped in on a Wednesday afternoon before they closed to get a sweet treat and pretend I was in Europe. The whole restaurant was open so I sat outside and had some water and an eclair. It was perfect. The eclair was cold and chilly with yummy chocolate cover and soft cream center that wasn't too sweet. Servers were friendly and fast. Great little pit stop while walking up and down state street

Service by Zoey was friendly and professional. I love when the server remembers who ordered what. Ambience is like Oma's Danish house with lots of pink and blue. I very much enjoy dining outside. The croissant with ham & cheese was super yummy. My scrambled eggs were good, as was the havarti and ham, but the potatoes were too over-seasoned in my opinion. The pumpernickel bread was unusual. My husband enjoyed his bratwurst breakfast.

Fantastic Scone, Almond Shoehorn, Raspberry cookie and Dark Chocolate with filling.

Love this place so much, I consider driving up here from LA for more of the best quiche I ever had. So many perfectly sweet desserts to choose from. Everything is high quality and fresh for reasonable prices. Charming, cozy decor with Danish accents. Service is also excellent and warm. Quiche with Hollandaise Sauce - Light, buttery flaky crust, light, fluffy eggs. Absolutely delightful, leeks provided good texture. Came with a strip of bacon. Was so amazing hardly ate the sauce. Don't think you can sub salad for fries but no worries, as the breakfast potatoes were amazing. Many places offer breakfast potatoes but something seemingly simple is actually hard to make well. My friend's Bratwurst Sausage with Eggs, her favorite, was hearty and filling. A lot of indoor seating but we enjoyed our table outside, watching pedestrians on State St. and enjoying the beautiful scenery and architecture. We expected to wait to be seated but surprisingly it wasn't that busy. Order at counter and the food is brought to your table. As we waited, employee kindly gave us two free pastry samples, both delicious. All the baked goods I got to go I want again. Their scones are fabulous-slightly crunchy on the outside, light and fluffy on the inside. Their tea service which comes with champagne is pricey, I believe $75 per person. But interior is a perfect colorful and relaxed setting for tea. My tastebuds dream of coming back. Will be thrilled when I next indulge on their pastries and quiche.

I recently visited Santa Barbara and since I always look for tea I searched for a good spot. Everyone online said that Andersen's Bakery was the place to go so that's what I did. Unfortunately for us they only do afternoon tea starting at 2pm. We ate earlier since 2pm was late for a first meal so by the time we got to tea we were only mildly hungry. Andersen's doesn't mess around with the size of their items. Everything was huge and tasted great.

I am glad we stopped by Andersen's during our last visit in Santa Barbara. We were looking around for some afternoon coffee and pastries so we popped in! The selection of pastries was impressive, full of holiday festive decor, Danish specialties, hard to decide. Lots of Kringle variety: raspberry, marzipan, cinnamon, cranberry and so on. Cute X-mas cookies, an amazing looking apple strudel, cinnamon buns, cinnamon custard pastries, marzipan ones. Hard to decide. The young nice lady behind the counter offered us sample from their cinnamon custard pastries and she convinced us, they were that good. We also opted for a slice of marzipan pastry slice and got 2 Macchiato-s. It was nice to sit outside and enjoy the State Street life on a sunny December afternoon while listening to a street artist playing a Spanish tune on his guitar. The cinnamon custard pastry was rich, full of flavors, lost of cinnamon, outstanding! Service was very nice and attentive, staff was young, pleasant, kind, well trained. We had such a nice experience that we stopped by again next morning for breakfast. We went with the cinnamon custard pastry again (it was that good) and tried their Grandma's cinnamon roll Kringle which is really nice, has that Old World look and flavor, some dessert that your grandma could have made for you back in the day, homey with lots of good ingredients. Tried their cappuccino-s with 2 espresso shots and they were decent. We wish they would make coffee-s in bigger cups, but that's a tiny complaint. Nice breakfast place. Water from the house (there's a jug inside and cups), clean restrooms. Great place to eat at and buy some nice holiday pastries to go! I am glad we tried Andersen's again and had better experiences. It's a SB institution so I am glad I can update and upgrade my review for the better!

Love the ambiance inside and out - love music on the outdoor patio area, pink walls with delicate decor and antique art on the inside; and the pastries looked so delicious that I'll definitely need to come back for more. Loved my crab cake burger special and tasting the smoked salmon breakfast. A very nice brunch spot that I would take my parents or someone visiting from out of town. One day I'll make it for the 2:30 Happy Hour

We came back to Andersons while on vacation because it was so delicious years ago. Things have changed. While the service is still good the quality of food isn't what it used to be. We both had the Benedict and were disappointed. So much so that we will likely not come back. We wish everyone at Anderson well and hope the passion that was experienced in the food years ago comes back.

This is a very cute danish bakery. I liked that it feels like home when you are there. The servers were very nice and friendly. I really really enjoyed the grilled salmon omelet. Inside it had grilled salmon bites, spinach, onions, and tomatos. It really hit the spot. The pastries were also good. I liked the chocolate Carmel cake!!

We loved the cozy, truly family-run feel of The Andersen in Santa Barbara. The service was warm, and the place has a charming local vibe. We ordered from the happy hour menu the crab cakes and the vegetarian puff pastry, both beautifully presented. One small note: the flavors were surprisingly sweet, almost as if someone mixed up salt with sugar in the kitchen. It made the dishes a bit dessert-like when we weren't expecting it! Still, the experience was pleasant overall, and we appreciate the care the family puts into their restaurant.

I took a stroll down State Street in search of a sweet treat and found this gem of a restaurant! My first impression was elegant, classy, and had such a beautiful curb appeal. The staff were very attentive, kind, and kept the place spotless. I had the French waffle and it was 10/10! (if I could I would try one of each bakery item) I will definitely come back and try some of the other menu options!

The crab cake was actually super yummy!! It was super well seasoned, the crab tasted fresh and there was a decent amount inside. And there wasn't any over powering fishy taste that is sometimes present in crab cakes. The biscuits threw me off though because they are very crispy and fried and flaky, which would be great if you want a slightly sweet flaky biscuit like that but I prefer a softer biscuit or just an English muffin with mine. It's super cute inside, looks like an old time doll house for tea and pastries. Service was fine its order at the front a then they bring it to your table. No complaints there. Overall pretty good!

Not recommended. Coffee was so bad. We got Benedict and it was so greasy, and tasted so bad. Service was not good either.

You order and pay at the counter first, then they seat you and bring everything out. I actually kind of liked being able to sit down and relax without immediately being handed another menu It's a really cute spot with nice outdoor seating, friendly staff, and dogs are welcome. My sister's dog enjoyed brunch from the comfort of his stroller My husband got his usual cold brew and I got a spring water. We shared the avocado toast with egg and bacon added, plus a side of potatoes. The avocado smash was good and the egg was cooked perfectly, but the bread was a little dense for me. Nuzz really enjoyed the bacon. The POTATOES though!! So good. Thinly sliced, thicker than a potato chip, perfectly salted and super crispy. The side portion was generous too. Our total was about $53 for the avocado toast with add-ons, potatoes, cold brew, water and tip. I'm glad we shared because that felt pretty steep for one breakfast! And for my IBS friends Two separate, private all-gender bathrooms with actual doors. No stalls. We love to see it. Overall, cute place, good food and a different brunch experience. Nothing was bad at all, but for the price, I probably wouldn't rush back.
