It's a block away from state street and tucked away on the corner of Arlington Avenue and Anapamu St. They have plenty of seating indoors Yuli's deluxe breakfast sandwich is my favorite here. Made with a fried egg, bacon, jack cheese, sauteed jalapenos, arugula and sriracha aioli on a brioche bun. It's not too heavy but it fills me up. On my recent visit I tried the fluffy pancakes breakfast. It comes with eggs and your choice of bacon or sausage. The pancakes were super fluffy and delicious! I've also had David's Chicken Sando for lunch made with roasted chicken, avocado, swiss. tomatoes, romaine, red onions, house aioli on grilled brioche bun. So good! I love sandwiches served on the brioche buns. They're soft and not too thick like regular buns. Crush cakes also has a nice variety of their specialty cupcakes. Not too sweet and the perfect treat to satisfy your cravings. Overall, one of my favorite casual restaurants in town that offers delicious food, friendly service and reasonable prices. read more

Honestly, this place talks a big game and doesn't back it up. I called ahead about happy hour and a specific cupcake for someone special. Showed up--neither existed. Fine. What really stood out was everything after that. I stood at the counter waiting to be acknowledged... nothing. No "hey," no "we'll be right with you," just straight-up ignored while conversations behind the counter clearly took priority. When I finally did get help, it felt rushed and dismissive, like I was interrupting something more important. Completely killed the vibe. I walked in ready to spend money, grab a few cupcakes, a coffee, maybe make the moment feel a little more special--and instead I grabbed the bare minimum and left. If you're going to brand yourselves as a welcoming "safe space," that standard should apply to everyone, not just in theory. Stopped in for a late breakfast. The restaurant has a weird layout with steps up and down and tables seem like they are just placed where they can be fit. It's an older building but the layout is rather odd. The staff was friendly and cleans as they go although I do wish they would wipe down the tables in between guests. I had to ask for a cleaning clothe to wipe down the table. This time the food looked good but the taste and texture were blah. Eggs were hard scrambled and the pancakes sat in your stomach like a brick. On a positive note, the bacon was very tasty. Considering how busy the place was I would have thought the quality would be better. We'll see if there is a next time. read more

I've called in my order ahead of time on multiple occasions, but this is the second time my order has been prepared incorrectly. As a result, I've had to wait even longer while it was corrected. Worst service ever. I called 6 days in advance to place and order for cupcake. They specifically stated they can do whipped cream frosting. when I went to pick my order up they initially lost it, then when I finally got the cupcake, none of them were whipped cream frosting. We received so many compliments on not just the cake's design but the taste too (red velvet). This spot sits on a corner and offers seating inside, and outside. The pastry case is very tempting. I usually get a cupcake or two for the road. Ordering takes place at the front counter and you see yourself. The Mexican mocha is the perfect drink. Not too sweet, and creamy. My kid loves the "red" pancakes. The red velvet pancakes are thick and sweet. I like the cream cheese whip cream with them because it puts the pancakes on the edge of dessert. Lastly, the perfectly sauced chiliequiles are a must. Finally was able to stop at Crushcakes after many years on my way home from Morro Bay. We grabbed a coffee, Diet Coke, a strawberry blush cuppy, and a coconut cuppy. Lots of people enjoying their time together but no long lines this time around. We were able to sit outside at a sidewalk two top and enjoy the perfect weather. The service was good and a super sweet local shared the br code with me when I couldn't find staff to help me. The cupcakes were yummy but super dense.. This is an unfortunate review. I came in right before they closed but , that shouldn't matter really at all so disregard. The service was friendly. The cupcakes were hard and dry. Hard meaning I could make a tapping sound using the cupcake and counter. I've never had a cupcake like that before. So the top was hard , the bottom part was very dry. The flavors were very good as well as the icing. It's a cupcake, things could be worse. I will try them one more time since it's down the street but, I would never tell anyone to go there and I'd definitely never buy them for someone as a gift. I got the Yuli's deluxe breakfast sandwich on special for the Independent Sandwich week for $9 (usually $12.95). The sandwich is delicious but the Costco tortilla chips is a weird pairing. I also got the "Can't Commit" 1/2 sandwich 1/2 salad combo for $12.95. Paired the BLTA with the Farmers Market salad. It is a great deal for what you get. Well, I loved her sign in the front about being so inclusive, it's been a long time that I have asked him to be more inclusive for people who are lactose, intolerant, which the majority of people of color are. A dollar up charge for a non-dairy milk is extremely expensive. We are seeing more and more places in Europe and even our local Bristol Farms no longer charge extra for non-dairy milk. We got the happy pig breakfast sandwich, the cafe skillet and three different kinds of soups; the kale and sausage, the turkey chilli and the tomato basil soup. All the soups were pretty good, but my two favorite were the chilli and kale sausage. I asked the cafe skillet eggs to be over easy but it came medium. Other than that, the ham in the breakfast sandwich was amazing. The melted cheese made the sandwich extra delicious, super gooey and thiccc.
