*Story Time* In 2022 I paid $5000 cash and $600 card for my braces. I was 9 weeks pregnant. During that time my gums would become severely inflamed and sensitive although I was doing everything my orthodontist said. Throughout my whole braces journey the orthodontist would constantly be rude about the fact my gums were inflamed knowing pregnancy is a huge factor. In 2024 after I had my son I went to an appointment for my braces. I was laid on the table under the spot light with the sunglasses when the ortho said "can you see alright so I can show you this?". As soon as I said yes he snatched the sunglasses off my face My immediate reaction was to say he didn't need to act like a dick about it. That made him extra mad so he said my treatment was over, I was scanned for my retainer, and rescheduled for 6 weeks. Well because my braces weren't adjusted I had a tooth that ended up twisting and slightly sticking out. On September 11, 2024 I went in to have my braces removed, the twisted tooth caused by them not adjusting my braces was not fixed, and they did not inform me that they didn't have my retainer until AFTER my braces were off I got my retainer in the mail 5 WEEKS after my braces were removed. My teeth had already started shifting and my retainer did not fit. I called to talk about options and they said I would have to pay $700 for a new retainer. Why would I have to pay $700 because they removed my braces without a retainer and teeth that no longer matched the retainer? Not to mention I literally gave them $5000 cash They said if I can't afford it I have to get a chin strap to keep my mouth closed and force the retainer on my teeth. I haven't worn it in a while but sometimes the pressure on my teeth shifting gets to be too much. I am beyond impressed with Dr. D'Ascoli and his staff. Dr. D'Ascoli did my first set of braces 12 years ago. My teeth were so beautiful, I got compliments daily. Unfortunately, I was not consistent with wearing my retainer so I decided to go back. There's nothing like have a beautiful smile to boost your confidence! I've know Dr. D'Ascoli and his staff for a long time. He's had the same staff for years, that says a lot about himself. Every visit they make me feel like family, always welcoming and positive. I leave feeling well cared for. They take the time to communicate options that best suits your needs. The office is always clean. I've never once doubted their expertise! My niece who is in 6th grade, got braces by Dr. Dascoli. Every visit, my niece left in tears due to the treatment and horrific attitude Dascoli has shown her. The first follow up visit, Dascoli let me niece know her teeth were too unclean to work on (my niece could absolutely have better hygiene), but it's not WHAT you say, it's HOW you say it. He let her know that if she comes back with her teeth like that again, he will refuse service to her. In addition, he was more concerned about being on his phone/laptop in between visits, making each visit very brief. Secondly, each time a assistant requested his help, it was hit or miss on whether he would put on gloves. What a nightmare! Today, during her most recent visit, he refused service on my niece because her gums were too inflamed and he blatantly told her she needs to work on her hygiene. (flossing at her age isn't going to be perfect, but again, she could totally be better at flossing)! At this point, my niece was borderline in tears and we requested he removed her braces. He then made a comment suggesting we couldn't afford an orthodontist elsewhere, which is completely unprofessional! I have very RARELY ever left bad reviews or left negative comments about any establishment I have visited. I am very understanding and am even to give him grace when it comes to my nieces hygiene. it's not perfect and can be improved, however, this is no way to speak to a CHILD. I liked the casual office atmosphere. I liked that the Dr. came out and talked with me as he got his coffee in the waiting room, just shot the shit with me. After meeting some of these others in town, some brainiacs with a disinterested personality, some salesman with a huge business, he seemed authentic and caring right off the bat. Dr. D'Ascoli has a lot of very nice equipment like xrays in 3D so you could really see what was going on in the heads of his patients. He was able to note an issue for each of my kids where other Orthos did not. For my son, he noted that he would be breathing better after treatment after showing me the before image and a projected after version. For my daughter, he was confident that a tooth issue would be resolved without costly medical treatment, as his experience in the field of 30 years made us comfortable in this prediction. The other Orthos wanted expensive treatment immediately and of course had me on the hard sell to sign papers with their business with something of a scare tactic. I believe he was pretty good at looking at the 3D xrays and felt comfortable the issue would be resolved, with 30 years under his belt he convinced me. I like the Orthobus personally and although the treatment was a touch less costly, like 15% or so less than other quotes, this made no difference in my decision. We stopped in here as out-of-towners because our daughter had a wires poking the insides of her mouth. Since she couldn't eat and her orthodontist was back in Vegas, we asked if they could cut the wires back. The staff quickly shuffled her back, fixed the problem, and offered us cookies! My son had his first phase done here. What a mistake. Ripped teeth out, 4 to be exact when they removed the palate plate. My son who has never had a fear of dentists or doctors was traumatized by this clinic. Not to mention the over billing that took place. Two years after we left we got a small check, not all. We've since moved to Pitts Orthodontics in Reno, he has single handily repaired the psychological damage this clinic applied. I didn't realize you could get braces that didn't break off constantly until we switched. read more

They show you "before and after" pictures attempting to get your business during your initial visit. What they don't tell you, is the "after" pictures will require outside dental work that is not included in their price or included in their services. This is misleading, they should either not show you "this will be the end result of your treatment" pictures, or they should make you aware that external work would need be done apart from and in addition to what you are being charged for. When you are talking in the thousands of dollars, this is vital information that they knowingly do not provide, and vital in order for customers to make an informed decision about their teeth/orthodontics care. read more

I absolutely love the Dr and the entire staff! Everyone is so friendly and honestly seem to love working there. My first retainer broke, so they had me come back for a new impression to have another made. When I had my new retainer put in, I was late to my appointment so I called to ask them if it was okay or did I need to reschedule. I let them know I was on my way. They said it was fine. I arrived 10 minutes late and that's when the Dr goes to lunch. He waited those few minutes to leave to check the fit of my retainer. I apologized to everyone who where all very sweet. "Sometimes these things happen." Then, not 2 days after I picked up my new retainer I took it out to eat and our sneaky dog got a hold of it!! My bad I know, however they rescheduled me for another impression right away and had a laugh with my husband and I about it. I've learned a valuable lesson to ALWAYS put my retainer in the case when I take it out to eat! lol Ive had a wonderful experience with this office and would choose them again if I was looking for an Orthodontist! read more

We also came in as out of towners. My daughter had broken a wire and it was hurting her mouth - the staff fixed the problem so that she could continue on to summer camp and we will get a permanent repair once we get back home. They were really nice. Did not charge us for the fix! Fantastic! read more
