I had a 5 year old, an 8 year old and a 17 year old with me. We went out 25-30 miles from shore and everytime we put our lines in the water we got a bite. The kids were having a blast. I was worried about being 6 hours on the water but it was so much fun! it was easy to book a boat and the captain and Austin made it memorable. worth every penny!! The boat was clean and had all the supplies, the Captain showed us what to do and Austin was there to help with anything. all I had to do was pack some snacks and water and we were on a roll. I would recommend this company any day. I would trust them with my family anytime. They even cleaned our fish and told me how to cook it. thank you for the wonderful time, the kids won't forget it.

You can rent a chair but I bring my own. You can rent poles too. We have been fishing there for years and years and always caught good stuff. Often big drums and trout. Ground mullet and cats too. Dead shrimp or squid works great along with cut bait. Staff is very friendly. You can drink alcohol but must buy it there. 6 pack of corona is $9.99 there are a few covered spots and kids are welcome and love it there. Open 24 hours on weekend and close at dusk on weekdays currently but it changes with the seasons. Call them with questions. They will even tell You the weather. It would be great if they got a live web cam so you could check it out. We drive an hour to get there.

We had an incredible offshore trip with Red Eye Charters and I can't recommend them enough. Our…read morecaptain, Gary, took us out for a full 8-hour trip offshore and worked incredibly hard the entire time to make sure my son and I had a great first time experience. The seas were pretty rough that day with a storm coming in, but he handled the boat like a pro and kept us safely moving between spots to stay on fish. We fished several different oil platforms and were catching red snapper most of the day (even if they had to be released, we still brought back Sheepshead, Whiting, and Spanish mackerel). At one point something huge hit my line so hard it actually snapped it, and Gary said it was likely an amberjack coming up with the snapper -- an unforgettable moment. What impressed me most was how knowledgeable and patient he was. He kept the boat positioned perfectly despite the wind and waves and was constantly helping us with lines, bait, and technique. Even in tough conditions, he made sure we stayed on fish and had a great time. We also saw dolphins, a Coastguard helicopter rescue, and had pictures taken at the lighthouse while we were out there, which made the day even more memorable. (We were even able to bring our dog). By the end of the trip we were exhausted, a little salty from the waves, and completely happy. If you're looking for a captain who knows the Gulf, works hard for his clients, and genuinely wants you to have an amazing fishing experience, book with Gary with Red Eye Charters. We will absolutely go out with them again next time we're in Gulf Shores.
