The employee, Victor, painted my hair at least 3x darker that what I asked for. He didn't clean the paint of my neck and forehead and later wanted to scrub my face as it was a dirty floor! If that was not enough he market my shirt with color paint. When I tryed to communicate in the salon no one other than the receptionist was able to speak English! The receptionist left before I finished my hair so no one that could communicate was there! English is not my first language either, but you should be able to communicate to stay in business! Negative starts were not possible, the only reason you see one there!

I have a wedding to attend Friday night and was happy to find an appt at this late date. Soon after booking for 11:30 AM, I received an email from the owner Tamara advising the appt was not accepted. I called and receptionist told me that the appointment was "rejected" and instead of offering me another time, she suggested I go somewhere else, with no explanation. I asked why they don't want my business, and she said Tamara would call me within a half hour. It has been hours now and no phone call... not the way to treat a potential new customer...

They had moved to River St I take responsibility for not knowing that, although there is no notice on website except the new address at the bottom. Not knowing they moved, of course I did not look for their address at the bottom of site when i booked online. I called to tell them i could not make it to my appt due to address change and my lack of transportation I asked them not to charge as I would re-book. But bc of their unfriendly customer service policies they charged me 50%. I expressed my opposition to this but they didnt care. And they also didnt care when i said i would find a new salon . Was it really worth it Salon Etre to lose a 10 yr customer over a policy and a 50% charge for a wash and blow out you did not deliver? I would have given some grace and made an exception for a 10 yr customer who had never canceled in the past, waived the fee, and used the salon's slush fund to cover the stylist. I say this because when I went online to research and I looked up the Sono Hair Academy and their prices, the number I called and booked the appointment was for the Sono hair Academy and the address that I was given was apparently for Salon Etre unbeknown to me. So when I arrived at the salon, I was a little confused but figured OK wow this is nice. This is great. This is the salon portion of the academy. Almost immediately, I was talked into getting this $30 split end treatment, which was 'supposed to' last for three months. SCAM. It lasted maybe two washing? While the hairdresser did provide some good tips while cutting and drying my hair it definitely was not worth what I paid for as I was not expecting to be hit with a $90 charge. The whole point of me going to this salon was the expectation to be charged the Academy fee, which is what I saw online which was like $30. And the only reason I wanted to go to the Academy was because all I wanted was a trim because my hair is long and I just needed a little off the ends. It didn't even needed to be washed. So I walked out of there the $90 haircut plus the $30 split end treatment totaling $120 + tip! All this and I could've waited to go to my regular hairdresser‍

I filled out a questionnaire and had my temperature taken which I appreciate because I'm concerned of COVID and the precautions being taken by business. Everyone was so nice! Her husband spoke with me for around 10 minutes while I waited; her shampoo girl was chatting with me the whole time; and Nyla herself was fantastic, making me feel at home.
