Super Silk Lashes were kind of disappointing. I got my lashes done with Jenni. The process took about 1 hour, luckily it wasn't painful at all and she was really gentle with taking my previous lashes off. With first glance, the lashes looked pretty okay, but after taking a closer look at home, I was able to see all the flaws. My lashes weren't even on my right and left side!! There were thicker lashes on my left tail end, and there were missing parts on my right side. I then noticed that the lashes were attached half way through my regular lashes and it looked like it was about to fall off. On top of that, the lashes on my lefty would side are already starting to twist around and it feels like my lashes on the 4th week. It was quite pricey for okay quality, I probably wouldn't come back again. read more

I recently tried this place out for a set of eyelash extensions. I've had them done before several times at several different places, but it had been a little while since my last continued application of them. Communication was consistent when I was trying to set up an appointment. They are very busy and booked up, so it is best to plan ahead (they are also closed on Mondays). There were some low and high points to the experience so far (I will be going back for a refill), so I will list them here: Lows: *I arrived 5 minutes early for a 1:30pm appointment (not with Ashley). I did not get seen until after 2pm. I understand there will be delays, but this made me miss another appointment I had that day. *The application itself took a very long time. Like I said, I've had lashes applied before, and it takes 1 to 1.5 hours. This took more than 2. So another reason why I missed my other appointment *During the application it felt like newly applied lashes were being removed and replaced several times. It hurts. The glue used is very strong obviously, so when the lash gets removed, it stings. After the 1.5 hour mark, I started feeling tense and impatient, which could have to do more with the fact that I knew I was now running really, really late in my day and other planned activities. It's not easy to lay still for that long!! Highs: *The person at the front was nice and reassuring when I was waiting for the arrival of my technician. She did offer me water and apologized. *Ashley conducted a very detailed and thorough pre-consultation going over my options and asking about what my expectations were and what my experiences were with getting lash extensions. This was appreciated as I felt like I was going to get exactly the look and feel I wanted. *The place itself is very welcoming. They are still in the process of setting things up, but it is decorated very nicely and it is a clean and efficient space. (Note: The business next door was playing very loud music and talking very loudly - the walls are thin, so this was noticeable, but not D'lux's fault) *Options of different materials and styles/applications of lashes is good. Prices are reasonable. NOTE ON PRICE/PROMOTIONS: Right now their business is new and they have specials for new clients and for their grand opening. They also have a Yelp Check-In offer (see photo/screenshot) attached. It presumably says that for checking in you get the silk extensions for a special one time price of $29. This is not the case. I asked about it and Ashley said that it was for a "half application". They might want to change the wording on the promotion. It leads people to believe that you are offering the silk extensions (full application) at a $29 special price. I've never heard of people applying extensions halfway.... OVERALL: I'm pleased with the end result and will be going back for refills in the future. The lash extensions feel comfortable and I did not have any irritation after they were applied. They are just long enough for me to be able to function with them on a daily basis (sleep comfortably, wear sunglasses, etc...) and they look great IMO. For those new to lashes, keep in mind that they will gradually fall out, just as your natural lashes do. You can't really rub your eyes or wash your eyes like you normally would. You have to use oil-free products, including makeup remover and you just have to be careful with them. But I think they are worth it and look great as long as you are going somewhere reputable and you take care of them. read more

I have been to almost every lash extension place in Southern California and I'm so happy that I found D'Lux. Overall it was an amazing experience, they greeted me right as I walked in and the service of the actual lash placement was different. First of all it didn't burn, it didn't make my eyes water, it wasn't uncomfortable and it only took about 50 minutes for the entire start to finish process. Nana was my lash specialist and she did an amazing job. She was informative, gave me tons of options and most importantly really listened to what I wanted and executed to perfection. 2 friends reffered me so i knew theyd do good. my friend swears pinky is the best but i got cherry and she did an incredible job, so i guess you cant go wrong here! i did the yelp chek in deal bogo50% and scheduled the 2nd for sept 16, so it was $150 for 2 new sets of mink lashes. the place is clean and the ladies were super patient and helpful in explaining the differences, pros, and cons of each type of lash and how each would work with my eye shape. before starting, cherry took her time and meticulously chose the best lash for my eyeshape and desired look, trying out individual hairs on my rues before deciding. 90min later, my lashes were done and my eyes werent uncomfortable or itchy at all. she did a great job applying the hairs evenly and in consistent angles, and i loved the lashes she chose for me! they were super soft and look and feel very natural. she asked me to check them and took pics of me at different angles and asked me to move my eyes around to make sure they were comfortable and i was happy. i wondered if itd look more full and fluttery if we extended my lashline, and she was happy to add a few more hairs on the inner and outer corners of my eyes. normally i dont do well with lash extensions cuz they get itchy and i start rubbing scratching and pulling at them lol. will be back 9/16 for my 2nd set and ill update reviews on the comfort and duration of the mink lashes. read more

This place is a gem! I've gotten eyelash extensions at multiple places in the area, but this place is definitely the best. Pink always does my lashes and she is so sweet and gentle. I always get the volume mink lashes and my lashes always end up looking so nice and full. The extensions fall out over time like all do, but my eyes don't look like they're really balding until the 5th week. At other places, my eyes look like they're balding by the 3rd week. Also, you can't beat the price here - it's much more reasonable than the $150+ they charge for the same thing at other salons.
