Based on [https://www.datanyze.com/companies/d-muzzioli-associates/557903366] Their annual revenue is $6 millions likely by having many hundreds of commercial and residential accounts around Boston metro.and they do not care about customer satisfaction at all. If you have a contract with them, say for snow removal, they send workers to clean a light snow that had already melted due to rising temperature. More outrageous is when you have to shovel substantial snow from your driveway to leave for work and they show up after you have cleaned up the snow, and they go back without having to do anything, but still charge you for the work YOU did. What a RIP OFF!!! Furthermore, their rates are 148% higher than other similar companies. We used D Muzzioli for years to keep out lawn tidy, and they were great. But when it came time for us to move out of our home, that's when they really shined. The guys showed up bright and early, really cared about curb appeal, and gave great advice on how to achieve it. They didn't just DO the job, they were thoughtful about it ("If it were my house, I'd probably remove that shrub and that one, too). Not to mention, they did all the work while our puppy had his nose in their business at the same time. By the end of a long day, we couldn't believe we hadn't done it all sooner. After working with a landscape architect to design a transformation of our yard we hired Muzzioli to perform the landscape installation. I spoke to several landscaping companies and Muzzioli was the most professional. Communication was clear and their quote was also clear and a good value. Muzzioli was also able to provide labor to assist with offloading plants and staging when it was time for delivery from the various nurseries we sourced our plants from. Our installation included 11 trees with very large root balls and dozens of other shrubs, bushes, and plants, and the need to tread lightly near a gas line that transversed the new planting area. The installation included cutting and removing sod, removing older plantings, preparing the beds, planting everything, and mulching it all, including our other existing landscape beds. It was a big job but Muzzioli was very collaborative and able to get the installation completed in a single day. We were very pleased and would recommend and use them again. read more

I had been calling around to have some landscapers come and give me an estimate on the services I needed taken care of in my yard. I was thrilled to find Muzzioli since they focused on the Belmont area and the owner came down and told me exactly what he planned on doing. This was in April. Three months in and tons of miscommunication later, they finally finished. The job was done well and the team was very professional, however the owner, as pleasant as he is, takes on more than he can handle, has no follow through skills and will not speak to you directly once the job is in progress. I got their attention when I told them I wasn't going to pay, but they do not deliver what they promise and the time line to completion was unacceptable. We hired this company to help with our lawn care. They were the worst landscaping company I have ever hired. First they came extremely late to do the spring cleanup. With the cleanup they were also supposed to apply mulch to plant beds. They didn't do this until a month later after a few reminders and the way they did it made it look absolutely terrible. They came with a big hose and sprayed the black mulch everywhere. It looked like our yard had been blasted with charcoal. The flowers were black and so was everything else, and we couldn't get it off (tried blowing it off, washing it off - nothing helped). It stuck to the flowers. Several plants had their stems broken by the mulch blast and died. It even ended up in the flowers in my pots on my porch, that's how messy they were. It was all over our house (black splatters on siding and windows and all over the walkway and drive way). Never seen anything like it before and we have had mulch applied yearly for 6 years by another company. I called and inquired about the whole thing and they acknowledged the crew should not have applied it like that and that they would come out and have a look and clean up and that they would get back to me. They never came and they never got back to me. They were also supposed to over seed our lawn in the spring. Never came. Mid June they show up ready to over seed after the owner had told us they would skip it since it was no point and too late. We told them no thanks since the owner had told us there was no point. Then a few days later they show up and apply fertilizer and pesticide all over our yard without consent or prior notification. They even put it in my organic vegetable garden and in my potted (!) vegetable pots. Wtf? We certainly never asked them to do anything with our vegetables. With what they put in we will probably just have to get rid of it all. The kids are devastated after all their hard work. Since they never notified us that they would be there, I unfortunately didn't notice him until it was too late. I tried to talk to the person that did it. I asked what he had put down and he said fertilizer and pesticide and that was it. Couldn't get anymore information. I called the office (took over 10 calls over two days before someone picked up). I explained what had happened and asked for information on what was applied. They sent the SDS and turns out that when I looked it up it is fertilizer developed for turf fields. I asked about it and they said they sent the wrong specs and that in addition to the fertilizer there was a pesticide. Talked to manufactures who said that is not recommended for use on vegetables or anything that is to be consumed. I am just devastated that they applied that all over out vegetables. They are either not knowledgeable, not organized, don't care about their clients well being or all of the above. Perhaps we are just too small clients and therefore get the crap job? Be aware. I recently bought a house and needed help with trimming back bushes, reseeding, general clean up, etc. I had an easy enough time scheduling the quote and the rep seemed extremely nice, but I was less than thrilled with the customer service after that point. I asked multiple times when the work would start and specifically asked for days and times (I'd like to know when people are going to be on my property). I got a general ball park that work would start within the next 2 weeks and then all of a sudden I had a crew in my yard at 8am one Saturday, no prior notice given. Not a big deal so I moved on. I figured all the work would be done in a day but it took them coming out 4 separate times (the last one because they missed trimming back some bushes). Again, not the worst but when you get the work done spaced out over time it doesn't feel like anything looks better because things grow back, more leaves fall down, etc. They did a good job trimming the very tall side bushes and the trees so I was happy with that. It was moreso the inconsistent communication. My biggest gripe is they put down the seed and loam and gave us no directions about how to care for it. I happened to see the truck pulling up to my house as I left for work so I called to ask about watering etc, but if I hadn't seen it I wouldn't even have known. He just said "Oh yeah keep it as wet as you can" but don't you think that if you are paying $500 for a service they would A) give you a heads up they are coming and B) tell you how to care for the work they did to make sure everything goes to plan? Overall, not the worst service I've experienced by any means but I will not be using them again next year. read more

We have used D. Muzzioli Landscaping for several years. We previously used another land scape service and were not thrilled. Then we hired D. Muzzioli to do some extensive work that involved replacing the cement floor in our garage, paving the drive way with decorative stones, and digging a water disposal well to eliminate pooling of water in the driveway. We were so happy with the results we simply moved all of our landscaping business to Dante Muzzioli and have never looked back. The lawn and gardens look terrific and during the winter he plows the snow and shovels the walks. Each Sping he repairs the lawn damage resulting from snow plowing. He also clips the bushes, and plants flowers in the Sping and again in the summer. We love the service. read more

They use the noisy leaf blowers for everything - even when there are basically no leaves. The employees are mostly central american and don't speak English - very nice but you can't communicate with them. Prices are ridiculous for what they do, Very unresponsive. read more

This is my first time reviewing any company of any sort, but because of my TERRIBLE experience with this company I felt it necessary to warn people and only regret I didn't write sooner so as to save another customer from being RIPPED OFF! Essentially we finally "bit the bullet" this year and decided to hire a landscaper to help with our yard. We too were sucked in by Muzzioli's charm and salesmanship. He said all the right things and his price was extremely fair. HOWEVER his follow through was simply awful. Right from the beginning we should have known better as the wrong crew showed up first (on a rain soaked day) only to be followed by an even worse crew who I now in hindsight wouldn't allow to clean up a pig pen let alone my property. I wish I could say something positive as the last reviewer was able to do, but there was nothing positive about my experience at all. Everything was done poorly from the "cleanup" to the "edging", etc...They even had to borrow a couple of rakes for crying out loud...one of which was never returned. Their work was so bad that they had to come back 4 times before my yard was remotely presentable until I finally had to tell them to just leave and not to step foot on my property again. My 5 year old could have done a better job...I only wish I hired her....Furthermore, they charged us for work that wasn't even performed such as Fertilizing the lawn, weeding a bed of wild flowers that we discussed with Muzzioli at length about...he even suggested different ways to perform the job properly so that they never came back. We sent emails, voice mails (they never again answered our phone calls) to discuss ways to solve the problem and our displeasure. This was simply the worst experience with a company and a service provider I've ever encountered. I'm currently filing a report with the BBB as well which goes to the level of my dissatisfaction. Extremely unhappy to say the least, and if I could WARN people enough to save one person from going through the experience we had than this was all worth it. I wouldn't recommend to my worst enemy! We hired D Muzzioli Associates last fall to landscape our back yard after a previous construction project had left the yard in disarray. They were by far the most responsive and hard working landscaping company that I have ever hired. The project included grading the yard, digging a drainage well, laying down sod, building a stone patio, installing a sprinkler system, as well as the standard mulching, edging, weed removal, etc. From the beginning of the project to the end, the crews that worked on our property were efficient, hard working, and friendly. They took changes we requested during the project in stride and delivered great results. I consider D Muzzioli Associates to be the premier landscaping company in the area and highly recommend them for projects big and small. read more

I'd give this company a negative five. They plowed out a neighbor's driveway and pushed the snow into the STREET in front of my house. It's about three-four feet high and it will all land in my driveway when the city plows come through again. We politely went out to ask him to move the snow out of the street or distribute it more equitably (not all on us).
