    Italian Zone

We came to D.P. Dough on Saturday night around 11pm and we thought it would be packed but we were able to walk right up and order! I got the Italian zone and it took about 15 minutes for the food to arrive to us. The wait staff was super patient and the food was piping hot when it arrived! The calzone is absolutely massive!!! This is such a clutch place that is open so late. Half a calzone is definitely plenty! They pack them full with cheese and all the yummy ingredients and the dough is was delicious and soft! My only complaint is the marinara sauce that came with it was mid. Not the best I've had and I think ranch or something would have been way better. But overall the food was great and definitely is a great go to spot for late night food!!

The food was okay. The restaurant itself however was.... Not good. The floors were really bad. It looked like no one has cleaned that lobby/dining area in weeks. We used the bathroom (which you have to request a code for entry to use) and it had no paper towels or hand soap. There seemed to be two employees and we were the only customers which was a bit shocking at lunch time. After we got our food the staff stayed in the back of the kitchen the entire time and never sought out to check how things were, or if we needed anything else.

The only place near my hotel that is open! I walked across the street and was able to order food at 11 pm. I had a veggie calzone without cheese and a cinnamon thing for my kid. My calzone came with a side of marinara sauce that was very tasty. I walked back to my hotel and enjoy my late night dinner. I'm so glad that this place is open late, otherwise I'd have to wait for the hotel breakfast. Two thumbs up from me, good food, quick & easy, I'm full now.

This is an automatic must. Best start to a night on the town in Athens. Quick great service. Even better food. Great little spot on main bar/hangout strip.

    Supposed to be Cinnamon Stix

I went here one night because it was the only place open due to COVID, and I ordered some cinnamon bread/sticks... it took them around 15 minutes and they were not done all the way and looks nothing like the pictures online or on the menu.

    Raw calzone (one of two)

Absolute favorite place circa 2019/2020. Last three orders, have gotten raw calzones. Not one to complain cause this is staple in my life, but it just hasn't been up to par recently. Ready to go to Eddies if it means I can get a fully cooked calzone.

An easy five stars. Emmy Squared Pizza serves what is probably the best pizza to be had in Athens…read more It's really good. We started with the shaved Brussel Sprout salad. It's generously portioned, and it's more than enough for two. Pizza wise, we got the "Meatsiah" consisting of "signature cheese blend, crispy Ezzo pepperoni, house-made Italian sausage, thick-cut Nuke's bacon, [and] tender shaved ribeye." It was amazingly good and some of the best pizza I've had anywhere. I washed mine down with a Creature Comforts Tropicalia as one does. It's a stylish upscale place. Shout out to Piper who provided great, on the ball service. Cheers!

We had a really disappointing experience here and won't be returning…read more My husband ordered a burger without a bun and made a few simple modifications (no cheese, add bacon and onions). It came out fine, so he ordered a second one--only to have the manager come over after the order was placed to say they were "too busy" to accommodate those same modifications again. Apparently the server "shouldn't have allowed it." That's not just inconsistent, it's poor communication and puts the customer (and server) in an awkward spot for no reason. I ordered a grilled chicken sandwich that was honestly one of the driest things I've ever tried to eat. I could barely get through two bites. The fries that came with it left me with pretty bad indigestion later, which is unusual for me. Our daughters ordered pizza, which was fine--but it arrived about 30 minutes after our food, so we weren't even eating together as a family. We also ordered a bottle of prosecco that was barely chilled. We had to ask for an ice bucket just to make it drinkable. Between the food quality, inconsistent service, and overall experience, this was a miss across the board.

We love to meet family and friends there, share good food, and eat outdoors in good weather. * Food :Best fresh ingredients. Large portions. Good price. Personnel: helpful, efficient Facility: The restaurant building has been here so long it's a classic, well-loved part of the community, on a busy corner outside the main Athens area. Not new, but well kept, clean, and cheerful. Not new, but well kept, with nicely spaced tables & booths inside. Both covered seating , and open seating outside. Family friendly. Outside has lovely old tall, tall cypress trees along the side. like you see in Italy. They have added new little cypress trees in pots in the front so you can see how the tall ones began. The adjacent parking lot is usually ample. Location: Although it is outside the busy main area of Athens, it's a quick drive and well worth the trip. It's near the state botanical garden if you want to enjoy another Athens treasure before or after you eat. * * The only complaint we have is the addition of loud music after the new management took over -it's worse inside, so you can have conversations more easily outside if the weather permits.

Rather than the past thin, tender crust, it's now twice as thick (not their sicilian style) and is like a tough piece of bread with toppings. I'm so disappointed. I'll probably give them one more chance on the off-chance that tonight was a fluke. But then I may have to find a new local favorite.
