Our decision to grab a quick casual dinner with friends mid-week was a good choice. They recently changed happy hour -now it ends at 6 instead of 6:30 and we were a few minutes late. We will remember next time. Fortunately the food was yummy -I chose the salmon with a side of asparagus. Deliciously prepared! As always-plenty of bread on the table with olive oil and herb dipping sauce. They do allow us to split dishes if we aren't very hungry and they still have the "Take home another meal for $10" deal-we chose a pasta for the second meal and it was ready when it was time to go home. The Caesar salad was fresh as always. Service -excellent as always The managers, Aaron and Joe train the staff so well that your beverage glass is full and your needs are met. First time here and was really impressed with the Customer Service as we never had to ask for anything. Food was delicious and I really liked my rosé sangria. My only complaint would be how small the table is for four people that we were set at but everything else was really good. read more

Given our recent past experiences here, I suppose I shouldn't be surprised that this would also be the place I'd first have a waitress drop a tray of full glasses on me. That's exactly what happened yesterday at lunch. She apologized and I was nice about it saying "these things happen". I didn't expect to hear "they shouldn't happen twice in a row" as a reply. If this happens twice in a row, perhaps waitressing isn't the career for you. At least the food on their new and vastly smaller and disappointing menu was good.... Had a great curbside experience! Ordering was super easy, and my food was ready way earlier than expected. They even brought it out before I had a chance to check in--such a pleasant surprise. Everything was hot, fresh, and delicious. The portions were huge, definitely worth the price. I ordered the Scampi Damian--so good! The lemon butter sauce had a bold citrus flavor, maybe a little strong for some, but I really enjoyed it. The Caesar salad was also really tasty--crisp and flavorful. Great food, great service. March 2026. Worst eggplant parmesan I've ever eaten. It was edible but having had nothing but great dishes, this was a sore disappointment. I took home and ate the leftover lasagna from another patron and that, too, was a grand disappointment. There was so little sauce and cheese between the fat noodles, impossible to have had any less. Need to have chef/manager taste and see what complaints are coming in from customers. The main items were ok, but the sides are not so good. Specifically the garlic mash potatoes are not edible. I asked the waiter and he said he doesn't eat mash potatoes so he doesn't know and that someone else the night before complained, but he didn't let the chef or manager know. I usually don't write reviews for chain restaurants, but the service and food here today were incredible. The servers and hosts were very attentive and friendly, which really made dining here an even better experience. I got the sirloin with sautéed spinach, mashed potatoes, and the house salad. The sautéed spinach was amazing-- perfectly seasoned and cooked! The steak was also very well seasoned (didn't even need a sauce) and cooked to a perfect medium rare. The springtime sangria was also delicious. The restaurant had a nice ambiance that we were able to have conversations in. Pleasantly surprised with a great experience! read more

I am reviewing tonight because I just was bragging about how good the food is at Carrabba's Italian Grill Athens, and realized I Have never written it down. Our favorites are the Chicken soup, Caesar Salad, Veal Piccata or Chicken Marsalla, I think we have eaten everything on the menu! It is our favorite Go To restaurant for every family occasion, including Christmas Eve. Keep up the good work. I love this place! I especially love the steak here with the spicy Sicilian butter. I went for a date here one day in August 2020 and we loved the service and food so much that we came back the very next day with friends for a double date and the staff recognized us and made a joke about us coming back again the next day. It's now December 2021 when I'm writing this review, but I still remember the friendly service and how we enjoyed the food. I haven't had the time to go back since, but I definitely will have to go back to a Carrabbas for the most delicious and affordable steak I have ever had! read more

Always so much to love about Carraba's! I tried the Rigatoni Martino and it was fantastic. So much flavor, cheese, just everything! Super yummy pasta, really big portions and a nice price. I also tried the fettuccine Carraba without the peas and that was so creamy and tasted unreal. I loved how the fettuccine was thin and encapsulated so much flavor. 10/10 in my books! I also got the Italian salad on the side which was really good, I'm just not a fan of iceberg lettuce. The warm bread and the oil/seasoning dip was also perfect and really complimented the dinner. One thing I would say is that they do give a free dessert if it's your birthday, but they do not sing which is kind of a bummer! Loved our waitress, she was super sweet and accommodating. We came in to celebrate our daughter's graduation from UGA. There were five of us. We called ahead and put our name on the list. I received a text message saying we could wait in the car until they texted us that our table was ready. When we walked in we were quickly seated. The tables are spread apart and the servers wore masks. Our server was Sabrina. She came over and got our drink orders and dropped off bread and olive oil for dipping. But they were out of the herbs they usually have for the bread. That was crazy. Three of us ordered the pomegranate martini. We have had them many times before and they are delicious. I'm a wimp and love that they don't taste strongly of alcohol. I ordered the spiedino de mare and got it with just the shrimp. My side was the garlic mashed potatoes and the Caesar salad. It was very good. My husband had the chicken Marsala and thoroughly enjoyed it also. We used to come into Carrabbas all the time but it has been a while since we have been in. Our meal was such that we will be back sooner rather than later. All five of us lived our meals. We rounded out the dinner with three desserts. My husband ordered the strawberry cheesecake. It was a huge slice and nice and creamy. Our son ordered the tiramisu. I had a bite and it was light and decadent. Our daughter had the ice cream with the topping and some kind f nuts in it. She loved it also. Sabrina did a great job taking care of us. She checked on us often and made sure we always had what we needed. It was a great celebratory dinner. read more

I ordered the Rigatoni, which is $14.99. You can get chicken or sausage added and it changes the price to $18.99. I wanted the rigatoni with sausage AND chicken, which you would think would be $18.99 + $4 but no, it's $18.99 + $12! Your math doesn't work and people are getting sick and tired of restaurants constantly upping their prices and nickel&diming us to death. The food is overall such high quality and tastes so good! The chicken soup uses actual chicken, and not just some weird looking "chicken" chunks you might find elsewhere. My favorite menu item is the pasta alla vodka with shrimp and scallops. Their salad with vinaigrette is delicious too, and so is the mahi dish with fresh sautéed spinach on the side. The staff is always trying their best and working hard. We asked for a new side after ours were too salty, and our server was so understanding. He immediately got us the food with less salt. (Kudos to the chefs as well!) A lot of them are student servers, so we usually try to tip higher. Very classic decor for a restaurant. It's got good lighting, some booths, tables, and a bar. Speaking of the bar, I've tried the blackberry sangria... the bartender knows what they're doing! The drink is very flavorful, and I would highly recommend it if you like a fruity-sweet flavor. I'm honestly surprised this restaurant only has a 4 star rating on Yelp (at least for now!) because it's one of my favorite places to dine at in Athens.
