Tasty wings and great hot dogs equals my kind of restaurant! They have a variety of wing flavors and truly get them right. They are decently sized (seriously, why are so many wings in Pittsburgh so tiny?!) and they cook them to the perfect level of crispy. They also have both blue cheese and celery (which can be surprisingly hard to find in Pittsburgh). They have a monthly hot dog flavor and they are always creative. I think my favorite may have been their buffalo chicken dip hot dog. They also have a set menu of some traditional combos (like a Chicago dog) but have some creative options like the pineapple one. The layout is interesting with some tables in the bar area (plus bar seating, some patio seating and a back room with additional tables. It can get busy, so there is often a wait. Service is always spot on and they are great at answering questions and helping make selections. Great place to watch a game or just grab a bite and is family friendly. read more

First try - take out order $10 for two shriveled low quality, small sized hot dogs and $8+ for large fries that were ruined by packaging into sealed styrofoam container that had an easy three tablespoons of condensation when opened - hint- this is why most places put fries and other fried foods in paper. I went to the Regent Square location. I was pleasantly surprised. Expecting a bar vibe ( which it is on one side) but the restaurant side was very welcoming and cute. Their menu covers quite a few things. Pizza,, of course dogs and burgers, hoagies and salads. Plus. Any vegetarians out there definitely want to try this place. It was so nice to have OPTIONS. The food was good I got a hummus pita and mushroom pizza. Of course there is a big selection for the meat eaters in the crowd also. Our waitress was friendly and helpful with suggestions. They have a fun variety of hot dogs, but it's all about the toppings -- the actual hot dogs are nothing special. The prices were a bit expensive, but the daily specials were decent. Stopped into D's with some coworkers/customers for a Friday lunch and it was a very nice visit. The place is great to watch a game since they have so many TV's and have a good beer selection. They also have an indoor driving range which is fun. The plan is known for their hot dogs but they also have many other items to choose from on their menu. On this visit the staff, as always, was terrific. Everything came out with no issues. I ordered two Vienna beef chili cheese dogs and they were great. We stopped here for the first time after previously only ever going to their original spot in Regent Square. The food was a mirror image which is appreciated and their prices are incredibly reasonable. In particular I always go with the Chicago and Angry Tiki dogs. Service was solid but the dining room area needed a bit of a cleaning which is my only complaint. Lots of garbage on the floor and our table wasn't adequately cleaned. read more

Excellent local bar and grill. Dive bar feel. Great quarter pound hot dogs. Wide selection of craft beers. Off the wall and hard to find beer. Mix and match six packs make for an interesting mix. Can be pricy but worth it. Staff is very helpful and friendly. It's nice to not have to buy a whole six pack of one flavor in case it's not what you expected. I'll get to the point, as I'm non- biased, since every other review here is written by a regular or a friend of the place. The dogs here are very good. Everything else is average and overpriced. Pizza is a hit and miss. Last time I got barely any cheese and very dry crust. Maybe it's the cook that day...who knows. The wings are pre-bagged frozen (10 at $15? Ah nope) below average, frankly a rip off. Just get the hotdogs. That's what they're known for although I think they are still a bit overpriced. The service depends on who you are. If you are a regular from neighborhood or you are in a group (2 or more, and preferably way more) they are friendly. If you are new , passing by, by yourself, then you're gonna get this awkward horrified look on their faces as if you are the serial murderer in the news.. your name may as well be Dahmer. Myself and some fellow dads came in the other night for dinner and to hang out. It was my first time ever to a D's location. It was great! I learned how to order so I'll do better next time. The loaded fries looked amazing. I just had the normal fries. I got two different dogs. Both wonderful. I got a Cuban with no pickles and then a dog with the Coney Island toppings plus cheese. That's how we usually do them at home ... so good! The guys had some dogs and beer as well. I think our kids could do well here also. There is a kids menu and pricing seems reasonable. I'm excited that D's Six Pack opened up a location in Murrysville. They did some nice work on the inside. Nice bar area and fairly small seating area, but probably enough. We did take out this time. My wife said he salad was good. My daughter had the cheese steak, which she also said was good. I had to order dogs, c'mon that's the thing to order here. The dogs did not disappoint! The Chicago Style All Beef was really good. The Big Ben All Beef was better! I will be back to try some drafts, other style dogs, or maybe some wings. read more

Despite being around for a long time, this was our first stop at D's. The atmosphere was alive and comfortable. The employees seemed energetic, happy and engaged. We ordered the kielbasa hoagie and hot sausage hoagie, and fries, at the bar, and then a few pizzas to go. All of it was delicious - like really delicious. There was a limited selection of single can and bottles in the cooler, and a more than adequate draft list. This reminded me of House of 1000 Beers in the early days before it became corporate. The only ding is the beer prices: Yes, they do have a half-off happy hour during the week, but for regular hours charging $4.50 for a Miller Lite and $11.50 for a Dancing Gnome double IPA, to name a few, is concerning. 4.5 stars, rounded down to 4. This is our go-to place for a casual hot dog/bratwurst dinner when we aren't up to traveling very far. The food is very good. The service is too. The portion size is quite nice especially the tasty sweet potato fries. We like the back room with the TVs and quieter surroundings as the bar is usually very lively. I had a 70th birthday party not long ago and received a rather large gift card from your place. Stopped by yesterday to inquire about the simulator, how to use the simulator and how to use the gift card. Young lady behind the bar was very nice, but basically told me, can't help ya today, go home and schedule the simulator on line. Showed her the gift card, said "ya use it from home". At home I enlisted the help of my wife who is way more tech friendly than me to do so. When she did she tells me you can't use a gift card online. We then used our personal credit card to reserve a booth. When we arrived today, asked the girl helping us about the gift card, she then said, " ya the gift cards don't work online, sorry". She then did her best to show us the simulator, but was by no means an expert! Play alot of golf, a lot of golf! Won't comment on the simulator at this time. I really want to like D's more than I do. I used to love it, but it's kind of slid down my list. The food is good but it's nothing spectacular in my opinion. The dogs are good and I like the combinations, but their a little pricy in my opinion. The monthly dog is always fun. We've had some really good pizzas from D's and some were just okay. If you are looking for hotdogs, this is the place to go. Great tasting hotdogs, good side options. If you like beer, there's a decent selection on tap, but still consider the root beer which is first rate. Only reason I'm not going full 5 stars is that one time I went and my hot dog was ever so slightly too done and my bun was just starting to go stale. So I don't want to wholeheartedly recommend, just in case this wasn't a fluke. It was still good, didn't ruin the experience and the other 10 plus times I've been there the food was over the moon good. So risk the stale bun, yours won't be I'm sure of it, and go get a great hotdog read more
