Angela was pretty booked for color, so I scheduled a haircut with her first to get in a bit sooner and see if she would be a good fit for me. Before my appt, I also sent photos of my Inspiration haircolors/styles via text and in turn, she had me send her current pics of my hair and a summary of my color history. What I loved and appreciated was Angela's honesty and frankness. She didn't sugar coat anything and based on photos alone questioned if my hair was even healthy enough to withstand another bleach transformation to achieve the look of my inspiration pics. On the day of my haircut appt- she assessed the damage and confirmed my hair wasn't healthy enough at that time to get the results I was looking for with color and it would probably break if I bleached it again this soon. Not what I wanted to hear- but it is what it is...and I had consulted with another stylist prior at a different salon who essentially said the same thing. Angela spent a long time with me listening to my hair goals and examining my hair and we came up with a game plan focused on improving the health of my hair in preparation for my Inspiration pics. Loved the haircut and the vibes w/ Angela and the salon so I excitedly scheduled an appt a month out for the color. What Angela did was amazing! The brassiness/orange/warm tones disappeared, my grays were gone, and with a B3 treatment felt soft, healthy and had amazing shine. I was so impressed I booked her for the same thing again! I am beyond thrilled to have found a new salon and stylist with Angela at Shenanigans. She is super kind, professional, on time, upfront and talented. Shenanigans is right off the 91 frwy in a small strip mall with a mexican restaurant and Farmer Boys restaurant. The salon is clean, huge, and with alot of natural lighting. The other stylists and staff were all very professional, welcoming and friendly as well. Ariel comes in and has an appointment with the lady who was sitting next to me. She sees me there and asks me if I needed help. I have very thick, abundant, long hair that can be hard to work with, so I am very picky with who I trust to cut my hair. However, Ana knows exactly how to work with my type of hair, and there was never a moment of doubt while she was cutting it as she would consult with me before making any major cuts. She was so sweet and chatted with me for a bit when I was conscious (I was fading in and out of sleeping) and helped me charge my phone during the entire process. I left feeling like a weight had been lifted off my shoulders (or head, in this instance!). I'm not super knowledgeable on hairstyles, but she definitely helped me understand what look I was going for before cutting my hair which I really appreciated! The entire process of a gloss and haircut took around 2 hours (as expected at the booking) and cost $130.

Can I just say that I knew from the first time I glanced at Marienette's Instagram page- I was sold, and I knew I HAD to have my hair done by her. She is simply incredible. I also think she is also some sort of genie that can make all my hair wishes come true!!! In all seriousness you guys, pick Marienette and go to D Salon in Riverside (Canyon Crest). YOU WILL NOT REGRET IT!!!!! (And YOU WON'T WANT ANYONE ELSE!!!) First of all, everyone is super friendly, and down to earth, even though everyone who works there is beautiful. Secondly, Marienette will melt your heart as she works quickly as well as make you laugh extremely hard while she gets you to your perfect hair color by her AMAZING TECHNIQUES!!!!! It's like Marienette could read my mind and knew just what I needed and wanted for my hair!!!!!!!! She color-corrected EVERYTHING that was wrong with my hair, (it was completely damaged and used to be 4 different unwanted colors). I've spent so much money trying to find someone who promised they could give me what I was hoping for in hair color Ana style. With Marienette, she gave me my luscious blond color that I've been craving for, for almost 2 years. Simply put- there's no one else that I can trust with my hair. She's that good. If you go to D Salon, definitely check out Marienette (Mnette). My best friend had referred me to her because she loved her hair so much. I'm very hesitant to get my hair professionally done because I seem to have the worst luck with it, but I decided to take the plunge again because I wanted a new do before my birthday. Mnette will work her magic and try to get you the look you want, but she'll also be honest and let you know if your hair goals are unrealistic. She takes the time to explain the process and what to expect, so there won't be any surprises. The hours just zip on by when you're with her because she's so easy to talk to. I've spent almost all day with her and it only felt like a couple hours (takes awhile to try and lighten dark Asian hair). Lol. If you have any issues, then speak up because she'll work on it with you. Don't be scurred. Any stylist worth their salt will WANT you to be happy. I had noticed a couple days later that one side of my hair was slightly longer than the other and let her know. She explained that the strengthening product (Olaplex) she had used must have contributed to the extra length and gladly offered to fix it on her day off! That told me a lot about her character. She's proud of her work and wants her clients to be happy. On a side note: That Olaplex is no joke. It's a new product that is fantastic! If you want to get your hair lightened, make sure the salon you go to uses it, otherwise, expect a lot of crispy hair and breakage! Hahah. Bleaching is a very harsh thing to do your hair. She was able to take my previously processed Asian hair from dark/brassy ombre, to a blonde, and then silver (silver will only show up on light blonde hair). Love my new do! read more

So I came here after looking on yelp for a new salon to go to . I recently started going to the salon because I've always had trust issue with them before.. Well D salon proved me wrong !!! I had stylist Marionette and she was so sweet! Right away she texted me and we were able to end up meeting after figuring a good time for both of us. She made me and my friend feel so comfortable. I was a little scared about what to do with my hair because I did not know what I wanted honestly . However, after our consultation we went with a natural "sun kissed look" . It took a few hours but every step of the way was worth it. Let me tell you that my hair before was an over processed dark brown with who knows what colors were under there! Either way Marionette was able to perfectly get my hair to a desire shade of light and in the end it was worth it because my hair looks amazing and I feel amazing ! I will most likely be coming back for touch ups or possibly another lightning process. I went to D Salon after a failed attempt at highlights at home. Nathalie was my stylist, and she did absolutely amazing! She saved my hair and I walked out with the most beautiful and well done dye job I've ever had. Nathalie spent hours correcting the highlights and working around them. She was extremely tedious and careful, picking out STRANDS of hair to ensure the end result was flawless. She fixed all the patchy highlights, and lightened all my hair to a stunning platinum blonde that I've always wanted. I didn't even know it was possible! I am beyond impressed with D Salon; I can tell that they are selective with the stylists they hire, everyone there truly knows what they are doing. I recently went to D Salon for the first time because my usual hairdresser is out on maternity leave and I needed to have my roots colored and get a trim. April was my hairdresser for my first visit and I am very happy to say that from the moment I walked in she was very nice and professional. She asked me a few questions about my hair color history and what I wanted done on that day. As she colored my hair she was very friendly and we talked the entire time. After she was done coloring my hair she dried it and styled it. I have a lot of hair so often times I don't like to sit and have it done for me and usually just go home and do it myself, but I'm glad I let April do it because it looked great. I had a hair appointment today with Marienette it was my first appointment with this salon. I wanted to get my hair dyed pink and coral colors. My cousin recommended her to me and I had seen A few pictures of her work and I really wanted to try going to her. She was really clear on how the process was going to work and how much everything was going to cost. She worked really hard on making sure I was getting the style I wanted and that the color would hold as long as possible. Marienette and her assistant Violet were really friendly and answered all of my questions and made sure I was comfortable throughout the process. She did a really good job the color turned out great. I have been going to the owner Duvon to get my hair done for many years now. He was referred by a friend of my Moms. He is an amazing hair stylist! My hair has never looked better. He always understands how I want my hair to look & accomplishes that look. He gives great professional advise on my hair. I always feel like a million bucks when I leave the salon. Duvon has been my hair stylist for years; I have lost count of the number of years! I have difficult hair and Duvon has always taken the time to style my unruly hair and make it look fantastic. He is a true artist and takes pride in his craft training new hair stylist along the way. Best experience I have had at at a hair salon and all thanks to Marienette. She is awesome she has a fun personality that makes time fly. Marienette actually looks out for you and won't lie to you about your hair expectations just to get the job, she will not damage your hair. I had a balayage done having black in my hair. Just got my hair done and ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT!!! I took in a photo of what I wanted done and Marienette was able to do it to my crazy hair. I was way overdue for a cut and color! She was very detailed in what she was going to do as well as the cost, so there wasn't any surprises. Duvon has been my stylist for the last 13-14 years. Many of my family members and friends also come to D Salon now as well. He does an amazing job with color and I always get a great cut. He is meticulous and spends a lot of time on my hair, which is why I still drive from Murrieta to get my hair done. The new salon looks great! For reference my natural hair is dark brown (almost black), very thick (density wise), but fine (in reference to the diameter of each hair strand). He has flawlessly made my naturally dark hair various shades of blonde over the years without ever making my hair brassy, brittle or damaged. I recently went back to brunette after years of being blonde, and again done absolutely perfect without damage. He is a master at what he does. My hair is always healthy, shiny and looking great! He is literally the sweetest and chill person. I will always HIGHLY recommend him! He also stays educated on the latest trends: cuts, colors, styles and products! Random Side-note: My mom is allergic to many things including hair dye. Eddie uses henna dye for her, which many don't know is an option if you have that allergy. She absolutely loves it to cover her gray hair! The salon is also so aesthetically pleasing, so clean and cute! Oh & comfy chairs!
