Everyone was very nice and even accommodated me next to a place where I could plug in my computer. They asked me if I had any questions about the menu and was very helpful. I ordered the jumbo shrimp with pintos and fried squash and ordered a corn muffin. Everything was really good could've been just a little more salted, but I probably don't need that anyway and was able to add a little bit for myself. Very friendly and nice peaceful restaurant to enjoy lunch and I will try to check them out for dinner as well when I'm in town.

I have the impression they do Greek food really well but everything else seems mediocre. I ordered the chicken fried steak, which was a small portion and lacked flavor. They also initially brought it with brown gravy covering it even though I ordered sausage gravy. Not a big deal, but they told me they had the correct one in the back and would bring it right out. I waited longer than expected for "it's already made," and I'm pretty sure I was lied to and had to wait on a re-fire, which came with the gravy inconspicuously on the side this time, but the service was friendly nonetheless. It was Valentines weekend so we ended up being there while they were quite busy. Still, the wait wasn't terrible, all considered. The French onion soup was delicious, and we were able to get it as a side for only a $2.50 up charge. Worth it! My wife got the turkey meal (not pictured, sorry) and it reminded me exactly of the tom turkey meal I used to get at the diner in NY when I was a growing up! The restaurant is large, bright, and clean though I think it tries to give southern kitchen when really they should probably lean more into the Greek diner vibes. I'll be back to update my review after I've ordered some other options off their menu.

Sunday we went to your restaurant to see for myself. We arrived at approximately 2: 30 on a Sunday afternoon. Place was about 1/3 full so no line. The greeter was sweeping up her area and did not say a word or greet us in any way. I even commented to my wife, is this a seat yourself or do they seat you. No response. We are both handicap with my wife using a cane and I on a walker. Greeter had yet to say a word or welcome us. About a minute later, still not saying a word, she put her broom down and picked up 2 menus and we just followed her to an empty booth. She set the menus down and walked away. Our server followed just a few seconds after we sat down and did greet us and ask about drinks. Our waitress did a bang up job and deserves everything you are paying her. I ordered sweet tea and I think the color wasn't much darker than the water. Weak would be an overstatement. We placed our order and started eating the onion rings which were very good. When our order came out again everything was A+. My wife and I had trouble with the salt shakers and would prefer regular salt shakers rather than the twist and get gravel type provided but that's just us old folks. We enjoyed our meals and I went to the power room only to find the handicap grab rail falling off the wall. Now I am around 300 lb and had to figure a different way to get off the throne. The rest of the meal went well until time to leave. As we were departing I noticed trash and food laying on the floor and the greeter sitting on a chair looking at her phone. No good bye, Kiss my A--, hurry back, nothing. At this point, it will be a while before I try again. Greeting and departing- F; service A+, food B.

The inside of the restaurant was clean and not too busy. Same kind of decor I saw last time, which is good. Based on this visit, I'd return to this location.

I stopped because I needed a quick bite to eat after helping a friend do some yard work. When I got there, there was no one in line, save for one woman in front of me who could not make a decision to save her life, which is no fault of K&W's. But I was trying to get some food, and the associates behind the counter were not being very helpful or attentive. It was near the end of the night, so they were out or low on a few things, and I totally get that, and do not hold them at fault for this- as I came in around 45 to 30 minutes before close. But, I was still able to get what I desired, country-style steak with rice, okra, and mac & cheese. When I got to the register, I was in for a shock as this meal was over $20. Now, I am sorry, but one of the pillars of K&W is cheaper eats. Had I wanted to spend $20 on a meal, I would have chosen a better place to do so. That price point is going to kill them, as no one wants to pay that sorta price for that level of food. I knew what kinda food I was going to find when I went there, but I did not expect to have to pay that ridiculous fee for that dinner. I am well aware that $20 is no longer considered much, but charging over $20 for one person to dine at K&W is absolutely absurd. That being said- he service was great and the employees were nice, and honestly the food was okay- but $20 is to high, and I will not be spending my money there, in the future.

There were a lot of interesting sounding cocktails on the menu, but I wasn't feeling super adventurous so I just got a glass of Chardonnay. I also wasn't super hungry so I got the Big Ol' Pretzel with queso (other side choices were brown sugar or mustard) and a Caesar side salad. The pretzel was great. It was salty and had a great texture (and did not have that microwaved chewy texture that you get sometimes)! I do prefer beer cheese to queso but the pretzel was so good it wasn't a huge deal. The side salad was larger than expected. I didn't care for the dressing. It was not a traditional Caesar taste or texture - not creamy, more of a vinaigrette, and gave the salad greens a slimy texture. Our server seemed busy but was pleasant and checked on us and food was served in a timely manner.

The chicken was crispy, juicy, and packed with flavor, and that hot honey sauce had the perfect sweet heat. Then the pickles and ranch came through and balanced everything out perfectly. Every bite just worked. The sides definitely deserve their own shoutout too. The tots and fries were really good, but those onion rings? Whew. Crispy, flavorful, and dangerously easy to keep eating. The vibe inside Earls was really nice too, relaxed, fun, and welcoming. The staff was super friendly and took really good care of us the whole time.

Here's what we thought: **Goat Cheese Butternut Squash Ravioli** Delicious but my Dad thought it was a little rich. The couple of bites I tried were excellent! This was his favorite out of the three meals we tried! **Prime Rib** I had to go all in and got the 12oz. It's the best prime rib I've had in years! They serve it with au jus and creamy horseradish. Maybe they didn't add enough jam and/or balsamic this time? **Chorizo Potato Soup** Very nice! The sausage wasn't too overpowering and I like the creamy broth. We ordered the Maryland crab cakes, and any true Marylander will tell you -- they should not be shredded. The shrimp and grits looked underwhelming the moment they hit the table, and they were. The pimento cheese dip was decent, but it was served warm, which threw us off. We've never had warm pimento cheese dip -- more of a queso situation -- so maybe our expectations were just misaligned from the start. The one bright spot was our server, who was genuinely pleasant and completely on top of it. Our cocktail, also underwhelming. I think we each only took about two sips from our respective glasses. There's a banner near the entrance boasting Winston-Salem's best restaurant. Look closely and you'll notice it's from 2022. It's a small detail, but it kind of says it all. Village Tavern seems like it was once a real destination, and it's a little sad to see it coasting. Here's hoping they find their footing again -- the location alone deserves it.
