We had to call them on a Sunday afternoon after returning from a trip to find our door wouldn't open. DJ told us it would take him 45 minutes to get there. We asked him to come anyway and he arrived after 43 minutes. He opened the door, identified the problem as an issue known by the manufacturer, ordered the free replacement part and installed it after it arrived a few days later. All that for a single service charge (at 50% because we're within 2 miles from the store - go local!) and a bit of labor. DJ was very knowledgeable, friendly, fast and tidy. Overall, a very pleasant experience, and I would call him again immediately. Dropped off a cam lock to have a key made. This was a simple 10 min. job, I've watched it done before. I was told I would receive a call soon as to whether the owner could do the job or just order another lock. After a few days, no call. After 3 weeks and 6 calls to the answering service I still received no feedback. It was only after I gave up and told the answering service I just wanted the lock back that I received a call the next day saying a key had been made and it was ready to be picked up. Some would say well why not just show up at the storefront during the business hours posted in the window. Unfortunately the business hours don't reflect when the store is actually open. I was on business in Woburn, and, me being a klutz, I somehow managed to lose the keys to my security chest, which contained some very important documents. My hotel recommended Dabbs Lock, and I don't regret calling them. DJ was at my hotel in what seemed like minutes, and had my security chest open in no time! I called the owner to do lock work at a property of mine ninety miles from my own residence-I've known DJ professionally for some years and thought I'd give him the business versus a stranger. After waiting hours and hours at that property, for him to arrive, he responded only when i texted him to inquire why he was so late. His response? I ran out of gas and can't come-an hour and a half after he was due to arrive. No call. nothing. Never a follow up weeks later. Odd behavior from someone you trust and have done business with before, with no apparent issues. I guess you can ad me to the list of clients the owner complains about on his FB page, behind their backs. A stranger with no personality issues wouldve been the safer bet. I dropped off some locks at Dabbs to be rekeyed and was informed that they were busy, but that the job should be done early the following week. After some difficulty ascertaining the status of my locks, they were returned to me completed at no cost due to the job being much later than originally estimated. They work great now. read more

The employee that answered the phone took my information and informed me that they would contact their on-call and contact me again shortly. I did not receive a call back. After moving into a new house we decided to have the locks changed. After a quick search on Yelp we chose Dabbs because of their proximity to the house. We went on their website and were impressed by what we saw. On their website they allow you to view their availability and schedule your own service call that fits our busy schedule. We picked a day and two hour window that worked with our work schedules. On the day of the service we even received email and text alerts letting us know when to expect them. Once DJ arrived he wasted no time in rekeying our four locks. And to our surprise it was much cheaper than we had originally thought! Dabbs Lock is awesome and glad we went with them! read more

Dabbs Lock came to my place of buisness and did a great job. They were on time, friendly, knowledgable, and charged me a good price.

Our front door was broken into, and we needed to call a locksmith immediately. My husband got on google to find someone close by (instead of using yelp, silly boy). He got in touch with someone located in Medford, but who sounded like he was dying (and he basically was - he told my husband as much as he needed the work, he had been stuck in bed all week, sick). The guy gave us DJ's telephone number. DJ was great. He was working on another job and came over right afterwards. He charged $50 to come in and then the amount for the parts. Our original quote, from over the phone, was $120ish. When DJ checked it out further though, he realized it was a different part needed and only charged us for the $12 part instead of the $70 one. He's a good guy, working on building his business. My husband and I were both very impressed with his straightforwardness and his honesty about the pricing. And when the time comes for us to replace the damaged door, we'll be calling DJ back. read more
