Wow! I used Yelp AI to find a locksmith and it was an amazing experience. We needed a deadbolt lock replaced at our home and I had been putting off this task for quite a while. Finally it was time to do something. I was sitting at a car dealership waiting for my car to be serviced and I had Yelp find me a locksmith. Within a just a few minutes I had responses from two locksmiths. Star Locksmiths, Bulent, was reasonably priced and at my home the next morning. The install was quick and he rekeyed the lock to match our existing keys. He even adjusted the handle for the regular lock (below) so the cold air wouldn't come through between the door and the door frame. We were really pleased and will use Star Locksmiths again. I can't say enough good things about Star Locksmith and Berke. It's really nice to find a family-run business that prides itself on being professional, kind and reasonably priced. I lost the key fob to my car and Berke was able to replace it even though it was an older car and wasn't as easy a process as hoped. He ordered the key quickly and kept in communication to update me as to when it would be in. As a female home owner, I have dealt with a lot of service providers who mansplain, are patronizing, or dismissive and it was refreshing to work with Berke. Was having an issue with a loose doorknob and spindle. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Bulent came out same day to assess the state of the door, and took the time to walk through what the issue was, how it needed to be fixed, and what would be the cost.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Upon closer inspection, Bulent informed me that some of the door would have to be drilled through to access the spindle, due to improper install by the previous owners. We decided to pause the work, and Bulent proposed a temporary fix free of charge. For now the doorknob is functioning perfectly. I highly recommend this place. He rekeyed my lock and gave me three keys for it. It's a desk lock, which had fallen out of the desk. He also screwed it back in for me. Bulent answered the phone and was super easy to coordinate with. He told me when to expect his guy, Veli, and how much to expect to pay for the service: $100. I could pay any of the ways (cash, Zelle, Venmo, credit card, etc.). Veli arrived around 1.5 hours later. If it's important for you, this was a weekday, midday/early-afternoon. Both Bulent and Veli were out answering calls. More context: my lock was a number pad, electronic lock. The batteries were fine, but it was beeping weird, and the lock mechanism did not seem to be moving. Anyway, Veli came and pushed open my door. I felt stupid. But, he did mess around with my lock a bit and determined that my lock was broken and needed to be replaced. That was a helpful diagnosis and pointed me toward a resolution.
