(I'm in Boston, not S.F.) I contacted Mr. Locksmith over the summer (June maybe?) to fix deadbolt that broke. Here's my Experience. I got a reasonable response after the initial phone call (within a day, if I remember correctly), and we discussed what needed to be done and additional work. Eli (the owner) came on time, and we discussed what needed to be done and he set the expectations as to what to expect. 1) Eli was able to determine why the lock broke (too much pressure on the mechanism) and let me know what needed to be done, including fixing the door so it doesn't exert too much pressure. 2) I also wanted all my locks to use the same key...he was able to give me a quote This was not a trivial job, Eli Meticulously did the following 1) Fixed the broken lock with a much nicer lock (essentially a commercial version)... His lock was also a color/finish that I preferred (over the older one) 2) He Carefully adjusted the door by fixing the strike plate, which I think was a lot of work. 3) Rekeyed this to match my old key 4) Rekeyed my two Garage locks to match 5) Checked the back door matches the keys (no work needed to be done) 6) He lubed all the locks (without me asking) and explained how to do this on my own to keep the locks working longer 7) Double-checked his work and cleaned up My door now closes with ease, and the lock now turns smoothly and I no longer need to find the garage door keys!
