Two words: Underwhelming. Expensive. Let's start with Underwhelming. 1. Dac's Sweet Tea is from the fountain yet they pass it off as fresh-brewed in-house. 2. The pulled pork and brisket just isn't very good. The brisket falls apart like a roast and the pulled pork has little flavor. 3. I had 6 BBQ sauces and 3 of them were adequate. The Honey BBQ is the best of the lot followed by the Pineapple Habanero and Hot. The Strawberry and Carolina Vinegar is too watered down and the Mustard BBQ is too heavy on the Dijon. They may have been able to get by on Underwhelming but Dac's is going to make you feel like a chump with your wallet. 1. They have a $4 upcharge for Mac and cheese with a BBQ plate. The only problem is the mac and cheese is just ok. I don't understand how the mac and cheese I was given deserved a $4 upcharge. 2. Remember those sauces? Yeah they gave me 2 and charged me 75 cents for each after. Dac's teases you though because they have a truckload of sauces but if you want to sample more than one, they 3 quarter you for each one after. Went for dinner. Again, they have the AC so high I was freezing. Ordered the Poutine. I went to the bathroom to wash my hands and, no hot water. Poutine came out hot and looked good but, as I dug in, I realized there was no meat. None. Menu says, "Fries, smoked brisket and pulled pork, gravy, etc..." Mine had all of that, except the meat NO MEAT! I didn't say anything right away as, I was second guessing myself. "Maybe I misread the menu....". I paid and left and then looked up the menu. Yep, I didn't misread it. I was pissed at myself for not telling the staff.... How the phk do you forget to put the phking BBQ meat on the dish, when you're whole business is BBQ'd meat???? They must serve it that way all the time as, the dumbass waitress didn't notice either. You'd think she'd know, "Hey, there's supposed to be meat on here." And why is there no hot water in the bathroom?? Every time I've been in this place, service is minimal, at very best. I recently had seen a TikTok for Dac's Smokehouse and wanted to check them out. I'm pretty sure the Peoria location is the one in the video because this one is on the small side. Waitress was great; very polite and friendly. I ordered the brisket, with a side salad, Texas toast and roasted garlic mashed potatoes. The salad with homemade ranch was good, but they don't give nearly enough dressing. I enjoyed the potatoes, lots of flavor. I have been wanting to try this place after coming across a feature about them on Facebook a couple of years ago. I don't get to Morton often, but I had a weekday free and decided to head that way for lunch. There were only about 4 other occupied tables when we arrived so we got seated right away. It was a little after the normal lunch hour. They have a decent selection of some craft beers and delicious sounding mixed drinks. I ordered the poutine and my dining partner had the brisket platter with a side of mac n cheese. I had heard that the mac n cheese is one of the best in the areas and it did not disappoint! I can be a hard critic on mac n cheese because I feel like it's difficult to find a good one when dining out. This had a light smoky flavor and slightly crispy edges but not dry at all. It was the highlight of the meal. My poutine had pulled pork and brisket on it so it was a great way to try both meats. It was a large portion and I ended up taking half of it home. My partners brisket platter was good but we noticed when comparing the prices on the menu and portions, it seemed like my dish actually had more meat than his did and was cheaper. We order brisket often and realize it is a more expensive option, but it seemed like I got almost the same amount of brisket in my dish as he did on his. We didn't have room for dessert this time, but we definitely plan on coming back as there are many more things we are looking forward to trying on the menu! Service was fantastic as well. My wife and I came here for a late lunch on a Saturday afternoon. We were seated immediately and it was not very crowded at all. We ordered a lunch special Dac's way burger cooked medium well with roasted vegetables. We also ordered pulled pork nachos sub fries with no jalapeños. The burger was fantastic! The bacon in the burger was crispy and thick cut! The burger was cooked to a perfect medium well with a great flavor and was moist. The burger was served with house made thin cut cucumber pickles, Roma tomatoes, red onion, and lettuce. The bun was soft and quality! The vegetables are small cubes of sweet potatoes, red beets, broccoli stalks, and fennel. I wasn't thrilled with the veggies because of the small cubes. The serving of veggies is small! The flavor was pretty good though. The nachos were huge! They forgot the pork on the nachos but brought the pulled pork on the side. The fries were great and the sauces on the fries were really tasty! The pulled pork was moist and seasoned well! I ordered a sweet tea but it is not brewed in house.... Sweet tea was disappointing. The service was good but we waited about 20 to 30 minutes for our food to arrive! We will be back for more burgers and pulled pork! I would definitely recommend a Burger! read more

The food is amazing. The smoked meats are delicious but the sides and appetizers will delight even the vegetarians in the crowd. We often use the carry-out service. It works smoothly. The Tandori Cauliflower wings and Brussels sprouts (Garlic and Maple) are incredible. The Brisket is my favorite meat and the Turkey when they have it. The Nashville Hot chicken sandwich is delicious, too. Seriously, I hate having to choose, there are so many options. Poutine and Horseshoes, too. My current obsession is the Mac and Cheese - add Mushrooms and drizzle with the Tandori sauce. The fireplace in the winter creates a warmth beyond the actual heat from the fire. The industrial decor marries with the cabin feel perfectly. You will be delighted with the food and the bar selections. Is family coming to town? Order your meats to be picked up hot and ready. We did this Easter Weekend. Delicious. And the service - they really get to know their regular customers. Hate to be a bearer of bad news but ate at Dacs last night. We were seated quickly and brought our drinks. We ordered an appetizer which showed up an hour and 15 minutes after ordering. Our entrees showed up 1 hour 40 minutes after ordering. I h a d the brisket plate. Beef was way over done and dry and not very tasty, garlic potatoes average smoked Brussel sproats not very special. I understand they are new and busy but not a good choice for me. May try it again after awhile but not very soon. Great little modern place in a small town. They accommodated our group, but reservations are highly recommended. It's not that big of a place but has a limited outside seating section. Good burgers and wings. The max and cheese was popular amongst our group. Several out-of-the-box options for that are available. They also have delicious salads and veggies that are not your norm. My wife and I decided to visit Dac's in Morton for lunch. I had the St. Louis style ribs, with sides of cheesy corn and roasted vegetables, and the jalapeño cornbread. My wife had the brisket, cheesy corn, Mac and cheese, and Texas toast. For my ribs I chose the honey BBQ sauce, my wife tried a sirracha based sauce for her brisket. All of the food was absolutely delicious, though the roasted vegetables needed some seasoning and just a bit of butter but otherwise was perfectly cooked. I've enjoyed ribs from Pappys Smokehouse in St Louis and they are top of the line...the ribs at Dac's are every bit as good..perfect seasoning, perfect bark, juicy and full of smoky flavor. They certainly stand up to very good bbq businesses like Famous Dave's, Mission BBQ, and BC BBQ. My wife's brisket and the sirracha sauce was a delicious combination, the mac and cheese was outstanding too. We stopped in at a quiet time in the restaurant, and the waitress did an excellent job for us, she was cordial, knowledgeable, and prompt with her service. Atmosphere is nice. Food is not great. Service is not great. Staff seem scatter brained, lost, distracted. Worst chicken sandwich I've ever had. It was basically three pre-packaged chicken fingers, fried and thrown on a cheap bun with some BBQ sauce. McDonalds chicken sandwich is much better. How hard is it to prep, batter, season and fry a chicken breast, for phk sake??? Bartender didn't know how to make a martini "up". Didn't have a martini glass. Seems the staff are not at all trained. Just hirer these super young girls and throw them in the mix. BBQ is just ok. Sauces are generic. Prices seem high, for the quality of food and service. I might go back again, just to give these guys one last shot. I want them to succeed but, I've just never been impressed with food and service here. read more

This is one of the nicer sit down restaurants in the great town of Morton. The atmosphere is good, it is plain and open with a mostly black and gray color scheme. This really adds to the blacksmith feel, as the building used to be a forge. The service is fine, but the wait for your food is something to write back home about. Do not come to this restaurant if you are on a time grind. I have been to this establishment more than a few times, and each time it has taken a considerable amount of time to get my food. Dac's makes up for it because the food really is great. The meat is well cooked and all the other food is above average for sure. Morton is lucky to have a restaurant of this quality, I feel bad not putting 5 stars, but cannot because of the time it takes to eat. read more

Went on a Monday for lunch and have nothing but positive to say. Place was more than half full but no wait to be seated or drinks. We did wait about 20 minutes for 2 sandwiches but was well worth our time. 14 people had just been seated before us and all had apps so what do you expect. If you are on limited time then maybe McDonalds would be a better choice. If you are interested in a real food experience this is a great choice and a great menu. I never order a burger out because I can do that at home but the Godspeed burger was too tempting and probably the best burger of my life. They actually ask how you like it cooked - when was the last time you were asked that - medium rare for me and it was perfect. Fantastic seasoning, nicely smoked, pink inside and very juicy. Quality sturdy bun and so much flavor. I could have finished it but opted to take about a third home for later AND I HAVE NEVER IN MY LIFE TAKEN A PARTIALLY EATEN BURGER HOME, EVER. Along with fresh chips, house made pickels, lettuce, tomato, red onion automatically on the plate...crazy good. But hey, there is always a fast food place around the corner if that's more your speed. We stopped in for lunch (didn't even know it was there) and ordered 1/2 rack ribs with potato medallions and the smoked Korean turkey wings. Ribs were decent, but cooked dry, potato medallions must have been out as fries were substituted, but the wings...were very tough. Hard to get meat off the bones. Korean sauce was similar to a mild smoky barbecue. We also had a side of the white cheddar Mac n cheese. That was probably the worst of our order. Actually tasted like baked noodles, no flavor. We suggested to our waitress, maybe adding in a Gouda cheese, paprika or dry mustard. While the concept is good and it's great to see a local business expanding in Covid times, we wouldn't go out of our way to go back. read more

We love Dac's. Have eaten at the campus town location many times, so was excited to try the Morton eatery. When we got there it was packed. (Thursday around 5pm) Apparently they take reservations, which we didn't expect. I would highly recommend calling and getting one before venturing over. Luckily there was only 2 of us, so we were able to be seated in about 10 minutes. While we waited the phone was ringing off the hook and we we overheard the host telling people they were not taking carry out at this time due to how busy the location was. Not sure if this was just for that night or if it is for the foreseeable future. The decor was cozy with a unique fireplace, but also industrial. The menu had some great interesting offerings that they don't have at the other locations. Meals are plated on white ceramic dishes. They also offer steaks and your typical BBQ fare with some yummy fancy sides. Our waitress was very personable even though she was super busy. We ordered our meal, the Kat Burger ( bacon, pulled pork, fried jalapeno coins, peach jam, pepper jack) with potato medallions (crispy french fries, cut like a super thick chip! So good) and prime brisket sandwich (brisket, grilled onion, cheese, with the most amazing garlic aioli. my absolute favorite item at campus town) loaded garlic mashed potatoes for the side and two jalapeno muffins. In about 10 minutes we received our muffins, and a few minutes later our waters. It took about 40 minutes to get our food, but considering they only had 3 wait staff and a packed restaurant we were pretty pleased with the wait time. We cut our sandwiches in half and shared so we each gor a little. Let me tell you that Kat Burger was something special! And the prime brisket was perfect as always. I highly recommend both sandwiches. The loaded garlic mash were so good served in a small crock. I would have given a 5 but I was disappointed with the lack of mask wearing. Both by patrons and staff. So my recommendation is to make sure to call ahead for a reservation and double check before you get your hopes up for carry out. read more
